Thread: Interpreting TH's armor statement
Does anyone want to take a crack at understanding what TH is talking about, or what he thinks he is talking about?

TH can you tell us if droids armor is a bug or a nerf. Seems that with the higher ham we cant get medium armor on the droids anymore.
I recieved a PM on this as well. I spoke with the dev and it has changed a little bit. From what I understand, there have been some changes. Before, armor was used once and gone forever. Now, armor can be repaired (with the new repair kits).
It used to be that the armor when crafted onto a droid would overwrite each other’s values instead of summing up multiple armor modules. Now it works properly and you should be seeing that putting multiple droid armor modules into a droid adds up those two modules capabilities and gives the droid the sum of their powers.
So basically, armor with a high rating that is used once and destroyed forever has been replaced with reduced armor that can be repaired and always usable.
Huh?

We'll never know. If we try to mess with the box to find out, the very act might affect its quantum state (thus negating the reason to check in the first place).

Ah, quantum armour - is it in the box or out of the box - or maybe both at the same time....

It sounds like maybe he's confusing armor with vitality? I can't really think of any other Droid system that is used and leads to destruction.
In case TH reads this and is wondering (since I don't think anyone has actually pointed it out, hehe, just made fun of it
) - there are several problems with armor right now.
ON LIVE :
Armor is not stacking any more. Not sure if this is a fix, nerf, or bug. Advanced droids (from R3 to Probot) have two Defensive Module Slots. Before, filling both of these slots with two level4 modules gave us Med/40% armor, the highest quality. This no longer works - and we do not know what it's status is (was broken in the last patch). The second defensive module slot is not being applied to the armor rating, from what everyone can tell.
IN TEST :
Armor ratings (Light/Medium) have disapeared. The resists are appearing (40%, etc) but the armor no longer has it's light or medium rating - making it AP0. This means that droids have signifigantly less effective armor. If this is our compromise for getting more HAM, we'd just like to know - and would also like to know how this will effect droids in-game which would becomemuch, much less powerfulif the armor rating was nerfed (as they only have 820 HAM at the moment).
What everyone is wondering is if these things are intentional, if they are bugs, etc. - because no one has told us as of yet. Not really sure what the system you are talking about is - can you please explain so we can help you understand what our issue is?

check your normal armoursuits on test, see if theLight/Medium stat thingychanged also. I'm willing to bet they may just have.
Also, on live, I've noticed that my composite chest hit Zero the other day, and instead of being useless it appears the stats just dropped to 20%. Sucks to be me, but I needed a new suit anyway. Not sure if that comes into play here.
You know, im not even making fun of himthis time. Im sure he's answering something.
THs 'Source' and TH, and maby 'us', just dont speak the same language, mainly. Or somthing.
"it has changed a little bit."
Somthing has changed (G)
"Before, armor was used once and gone forever."
Sounds like player worn armor that now just loses stats at zero. They saw the word "armor" in the question. Yay!
"Now, armor can be repaired"
? Now ? Player armor could allways. Now,, it can be repaiered after zero. , ?
"(with the new repair kits)"
New kits are for droids., ? I dunno ,, Arm waving ?
"It used to be that the armor when crafted onto a droid would overwrite each other’s values instead of summing up multiple armor modules."
They Know about the bug on live. Yay! And they noticed the word "droids" in the question Yay!
"Now it works properly and you should be seeing that putting multiple droid armor modules into a droid adds up those two modules capabilities and gives the droid the sum of their powers."
They fixed it on test ? (('they' dont 'talk' about the 'armor nerf'))
"So basically, armor with a high rating that is used once and destroyed forever has been replaced with reduced armor that can be repaired and always usable."
Sounds like the player worn armor changes.
Really sounds like someone somewhere has english as 2nd language. Programer ? Sees "Armor" and "droids" (two questions ?) in the question and throws that at TH/us. TH's job may be partly just 'passing on' information. Not doing droids, he has no way to tell that they werent ansering the question ?
