Okay I'm courious as to how many of use own a creature pet.

For role play reason I don't.. (ANd i don't let RP effect the game too much)
just isn't seemly for a DE to have a creature.

I have a Wrix as a pet. I use it rarely. I didn't go out and get one. One of the guys in my guild gave it to me. I hooked him up with a R2 with a data mod. So he gave me a pet.

I own a couple critters, a Rock beetle and a pig like thing called a roba I think. They help me run missions. I probably wouldn't have any but my best bud and biz partner is a CH.

I have been reluctant to use Probots even though they are partially working just because of perma death, knowing that it will (hopefully) be gone soon i'll start fighting with my droids again.

No more unseemly than it would be for a real life engineer to have a cat or a watchdog. Maybe they want a pet. Maybe they want a guard animal for extra security.

Even though you could own a droid as any class in the game, I still see more peaple with creature pets then droids. ( I doubt you can find anyone that plays SWG that does not know why that is the case. )

I am a droid Eng. working my way to master. I have 4 driods in my data pad and 1 creature pet ( a Kahmurra named Spork ). I never use a droid in real combat because it just gets killed. I do use Spork because he has 2500K HAM and 150 - 160 damage at a speed of 1.9. Compare that to any droid we can make.

Our combat droid should be nearly as good as the best lvl 15 pet that is tameable.

But it is not.

Why would labor be worried about protocol droids?

Oh dear! The welding on this frame is just atrocious. This simply will not do. We will have to stop the entire assembly line....

Ok. Enough silliness. Seriously, animals and droids are different. Sure, some droid engineers might have no interest in a pet. Others probably would decide that scrating an R2 behind the 'ears' just doesn't do it for them.

And by the way, I have no pets. I'm just pointing out that saying 'All DEs think this way' is bad. DE is a job, not a lifestyle choice.

(Ok. It's a job that seems like a lifestyle choice on occasion, but in the end it isn't. Really. It's not. Trust me)

Yes sadly I do. Its a Bearded Jax and I only bring him out during PvP battles. I use a Probot often but it gets killed too easily by others making me use the Bearded Jax for others.

Getting a creature pet very soon. Haven't been able to make enough money to buy a weapon better than a DH17 carbine and i can only just since last night make probots, but i would like to be able to try some questing and better missions than clearing wort lairs, so my RL brother is giving me a creature pet. Unseemly for a DE? Perhaps. It is also unseemly for DE's to be unable to fix a droid after a death blow.

For now any additional fire-power I can get is a good thing.

I have two droids: an R5 unit with a weapon/droid/general item crafting module and a geeky personality chip (pre-nerf, doesn't work anymore) named Blip, and a Power Droid named GONK.

I don't (and won't) own a pet for combat. I'm reserving that for what it SHOULD (and I believe eventually WILL) be -- a droid. If I ever have a creature pet, it'll be for show. If that means I get my butt handed to me more often, then so be it -- but I don't support the use of creature pets in this game as indicative of the Star Wars universe.

I think the role of CH should be to provide players with creature mounts (when available) and low-combat pets, like kahmurras, sludge panthers, etc.... but seriously, how realistic is it to see a person controlling a pet the size of a large house? I saw a guy with a full-grown Torton and another guy with a full-grown Graul talking to a guy with a pet rancor. A pet rancor? By all accounts of the rancor in Star Wars films & literature, rancors are among the most dangerous & feared creatures in the SW universe, and this guy had it following him around like a puppy.
