Thread: How many DEs own a creature pet?
I use two sludge panthers, one at a time of coarse but well worth the 50 skillpoints i put into them!!
I do hope to get droids that will kick their butts soon but i no longer have any hope for this game or my profession. I supply my friends but that is it. I even sell a few PROBOT GRENADES but that is few and far between!!!
My panther make my harvestor run possible, when a set of reds camp my harvestors i can use the panther the kill them and then reach my harvestor

I have two pets now. An "ape" (named Max) and a bachelor something-er-other (it looks like a horse, and it's named Min). Max will some day have HAMS of around 1300 (I think) and Min will have around 1700.
I mostly have them for roleplay, though both have good resistances and outclass a probot by a factor of 3 or 4.
The funny thing is... I have them because I'm a droid engineer. I made someone some basic MSE droids with Level 1 data modules, and he insisted I take the pets as payments. I told him that the storing of creatures on droids was probably going to go away very soon, but he insisted anyway.
I plan on getting a pet for sure. I think its utterly despicable that we DEs should be forced to buy a pet froma CH in order to be able to travel safely - but there no droid that comes even close to the weakest pet in effectiveness. Certainly droid death is the final straw to ensure that droids are not viable as protectors for a traveling DE.
I would welcome some suggestions for good tough pets useable by a non-CH though. Is a Wrix any good?
Maybe when they see that everyone in game has a CH pet, and virtually no one in game has a droid, the devs will get around to fixing droids and making them useful. Giving us a combat droid would be a nice option too - the current ones are laughable at best.
So for me it's a combination of roleplay and pragmatism. And besides, I suspect that this cat is going to be my mount one day, until vehicles are available. I'd much rather ride a giant, wicked looking cat than a big dung beetle or frog or something.
One Bantha - Just because I've always wanted one, since the very first time I saw one in the movies.
One Gubbur - Why not? It's small, bloated and froggish, what's not to like about it?
One Gnort - Oooh... LOVELY !!
Will get myself some more pets soon I think, at least as long as the data-pad can store them
One colorful rasp at least
Rarely have them out though... the gubbur follows me around in town together with my protocol droid.
Both equally wortless ... well, the gubber is in fact of more use then the 3PO.
I have a Wrix, i think, some cat like creature with horns on him. I used to use him to gurad me when i went walking to my hosue on Dantooine. I also use him to sic on those annoying imperials who walk around cornet with AT-ST's.
I really don't want to walk around town but until the day when someone angars me and i can pull out three droidikias he will do.

Yeah, I have a Kamurrah, CL15. I too agree that it is pathetic that a droid who's purpose for existence is COMBAT, is weaker than the average CL7 pet. I'm sorry that I never got to use one of the original ProBots. It seems to me that they may have been about right. I suspect the NerfMan hit them too hard, as SOE is wont to do. They cant do anything in measured steps, they just smash the F%$k out of it and worry about itlater.
Maybe someday I can give up CH, I really dont want it but I'm being forced to go up the taming tree till I can get a death-machine to protect me in the wild. Especially since the stealth-nerf that SOE has applied to resource shifts. Now I'll have to run 3 times as long and spend 3 times as much money to maintain my miners. OR I'll be forced to do what I think was SOE's intent: Stop crafting as much because i cant mine as much. Thereby reducing the burden on the database.
Dangit...
I own Ganklizard, a lesser bobcatt 2200 Ham and can outfight my best advanced probot. I never go anywhere without him if I'm expecting a fight. I mean, without a prenerf probot, how can a droid engineer expect to be in any combat unless they have a pet?
I do, I do!
Yeah, I used to have this cute (in that retarded kind of way) pink topedo with teeth and tail. But after five or six days she ended up being WAY taller than me and I'm a pretty darned tall Wookiee! As she was an 'agressive' pet and after the next big patch we non CH can't have em, not to mention the fact that I felt stupid running around with a huge pink torpedo with teeth and a tail, I traded were for a baby somthing or other that looks like a reindeer without the antlers.
Dasher will end up about as big as a large poney and will have about the same HAM as me. She's nonagressive, attentive, and loyal. Basically, she's like a real life poney withan attack command.
This I feel is reasonable. If I'm in need of backup, I can always call in my Rebel friends. Though, as a Carbineer, I can handle a hard fight on my own... even against some newb rifleman and his pet, as I did earlier today ![]()
I have a Cowardly Gurreck. 3200 HAM and 150 -160 dmg. Hmm do those stats sound familiar? Remember the prenerf probots?
