which means to me, the Dev in charge of us is also in charge of factories and was working to fix the factory problems..

And of course the factory biugs affected more people so is a higher prioity.. I then expect some juicy goodness within 2 or 3 weeks...

LOL, well, personally, I think "general crafting" warrants its OWN programmer, or else, they wouldn't have time to work on anything else! Oh wait! That's exactly what's happening!

Now, I have NO idea how they're structured, but it seems to me that you should dedicate a dev to big, wide ranging classes, like "general crafting" (I assume that means artisan) and then have a single dev work multiple "smaller" professions. Like, a dev could be dedicated to Cooking, Tailors and DEs.

Either way, its fairly obvious why we got so little attention. The guy responsible for DEs has MUCH MORE IMPORTANT thigns to do that affect the entire community. We are lucky enough to get some CH scrapes since the CH code is the same as the DE code, but until crafting is stablized I don't expect much love. We will get it, I just doubt it will be within 2-3 weeks. At a MINIMUM it will be 1 month.

Admittedly, I'm not a programmer, so feel free to flame away if I'm full of crap here..

BUT.. I can do some math.. SOE is bragging on the front page of this website that they have "275,000" registered players. So at $10 (just a nice round number that's accurate enough to be dangerous) per month, that's a measly 2.7 million bucks.. PER MONTH..

Why is there only one dev on this again? Maybe these guys worked at the Pentagon for a while, but to me, 2.7M can hire some extra help.. even temporarily.

Just a little point of interest... Flame away if I missed something here.

Or did I just miss the discussion?

From Holocron:

[user question] Who is the Dev that watches over the DE forum? Because we have not had a Dev post there in weeks and weeks.

[answer]There isn't really one, in the sense you mean. There's a designer who works on Droid Engineers, and he's also in charge of general crafting skills. He does try to read the DE forum when he can, but it's not like part of his job in the sense I think you mean. But he doesn't have permission to post there anyway--when you see one of the other profession forums get a post from "their dev" it's because either someone asked them to write something up for them, or because they saw something they wanted to reply to, and they asked me to post it.

Any given profession should definitely not feel like they are being intentionally neglected because they haven't gotten a dev post in their forum. We don't have specific devs assigned to forums. Instead, we're trying to rely on the correspondents (I know, I know. We have a long ways to go on that front).

You're absolutely right, that's MORE than enough to hire several new people, and turn a hefty prfit.

But the problome is that they don't have to do a good job, they just gotta sucker you into paying again next month, while spending as little money in the process.

While we're all busy playing SWG the SWG development team is busy playing the free market economy game, and in THAT game it doesn't matter if you have a good reputation, a strong work ethic, or friends that love (or even tolerate) you, in the Freemarket game whoever has the most money when they die alone in their mansion full of broken dreams family members that won't talk to you any more is the "winner."

I apologise for the name, I made it way back in week 2, when the CH's were insanely powerful, and as such the less savory people in the community all flocked to novice CH ('cus back then at novice you could control any pet, and they all got Rancors). Now the CH's fit very well into the overall system and as such the jerks and griefer's have moved on to bigger, better things. (Usually bounty hunting.)

Weeks? We'll be lucky if they look at us again before Halloween!

Remember just a couple weeks ago 3po posted that "since we did sooo much for DE's the last update, it might be a bit before we can get back to you, as we have to look at all class's".

That pretty much says it all, they fixed the med mods that were broken before release and they turned the armor back on to the gimped probots (think that was pretty much it).

So after all that "attention" it'll be awhile before they read/look at anything to do with DE's.
