We're getting one......hee hee.....see the SWG newsletter for the pic....
That will teach you to tick off the devs.... "what is it that you said time and time again that you didn't want ?? An R2 with blasters strapped to his head ?? OK we can do that...."
Anyway he is kinda cute.....and there is no more confusion about the clear top thingie...he is the one with the blasters strapped to his head....lol........
Edsoni, DE Wanderhome
Looks kinda silly doesnt it ?
Oh well does anyone know if this has hit TC yet ?
Oh my.
Well, on one hand, it's actually kind of cute. And another chassis is nice.
On another hand, this is literally a DE's worst nightmare - an R2 with a blaster strapped on.
I'll withold judgement on the usefulness when I see the stats on one - but unless they are *better* than a Probot, I don't see much excitement from customers.

I don't think it is so far fetched. I see this as being a Rebel creation. The rebels didn't havemuch in the way ofresources to get high-tech stuff, so they had to use ingenuity andguile to stand up to the Empire. It makes sense to me that they would retrofit old astromech units with blasters, to make up for their lack of personnel and technology to create actual battle droids like the Imperial Dark Troopers.
And as far as aStar Wars propertycoming up with an entirely new concept in the Star Wars universe, there is precedent in this regard. IIRC, Teras Kasi didn't exist until the game "Masters of Teras Kasi" was made.
Just my 2 credits.

I suppose it does look like something a band of ragtag Rebels might throw together, or a DE who wants to dabble in the combat droid market while the Empire still has a ban on them. On the other hand...
