Only thing that really concerns us (that I noticed) is the new global vendor search, feel free to post any comments or thoughts on it (too busy to make it look all pretty in HTML).
Galaxy-wide Vendor Search is here!
Have you ever wanted to search for an item to buy without having to travel across the entire planet randomly checking vendors? Well now you can! We have enhanced the functionality of our bazaar terminals to include the ability to search all player vendors for items you may be looking for. This new feature will greatly improve how vendors are handled in the game. Read on for more information.
Overview
The purpose of vendor search function is to allow vendor owned items to be searched from anywhere in the galaxy. This will include the following functions:
* Each vendor owner can decide whether to allow his or her vendors to be searchable in the market. There is an option for vendor owners to turn on/off the search option on his or her vendor. The vendor owner will be able to find current search option settings for each of his or her vendor(s)
* When a vendor owner turns on the search option, a player should be able to go to any bazaar and list all items owned by this vendor
* When a vendor owner turns off the search option, the vendor is no longer listed in the galaxy-wide network search. With this search option turned off, vendor owners have the ability to conduct private auctions. Players will need to physically go to the vendor and click "Use Vendor" to list items from this vendor.
Vendor Status
For all the existing vendors, the default option is set to no. Players have to go to their vendors and enable this search option. For all future vendors, this option is set to yes by default. For vendor owners to check if the search option is on or off do the following:
* Select the Vendor you wish to turn search on/off for
* From the radial menu choose "Vendor Control"
* Once you have selected "Vendor Control" then choose "Status"
* A pop-up window will show if the search option is on or off

Few more details now that TC is up... It seems that while price is not a listed/searchable field, it still shows up under the details of the item...

Good Points:
Price is not immediately noticeable (have to go into details)
It lists the entrance fee on the building
Lets you create a waypoint to the vendor
Bad Points:
Doesn't list what player city (if any) the vendor is in
As far as I know the ability to list your vendor is granted with business 3 rather than being a merchant skill(from what I've heard)
Reduces the usefullness of Barker Droids. (they could still be used to show that you have better prices)

This upsets me greatly. They were given great feedback, and could have easily made a system that made everybody happy. Now only the cheapest and the best will be bought.
I don't understand why they put price and stats up. All they needed was to say what could be found where.
For items that stats don't matter, it will be price wars. On items that quality matters, only the best will sell, no more impulse buying.

i'm gonna say what i said before: Just remove the trade forums now.
Seriously, there is *no* point to them now. Just put up your vendor with all your paintings, tissues, other loots that people auction off and let them sell on the bazaar. Advertising has been a big thing for me as a MDE and i'm finally getting a good customer base...now there will be no real loyalty and it'll be whoever has the cheapest price. The resources i need and harvest myself? Quality absolutely doesn't matter there...whoever has them the cheapest wins that.
No, this is just horrible, and i've been thinking about switching to a PvE/PvP class if this went through....i'm gonna have to seriously contemplate it now.

What annoys me is that it could have been very easy to make both sides happy. Yet they chose to only make one.
I understand that people hate shopping all over for stuff, that is why all that was needed was a system to make it hwere it listed the vendors that had your say "chaff" for example. If it gave you 10 vendors that actually had Chaff, that would cut down the shopping a lot.
By putting price and stats on the items, you really toss a monkey wrench into the economy.

I agree that prices should not be listed and you shouldn't be able to buy from the bazaar vendor. It should just show stats and locations if anything at all.
This is just going to mean that all those folks who like to undercut because they don't know what they're doing are going to get the sales. Sales on droids that don't decay. Sales that crafters who really devote themselves will never get another chance at.
The whole concept of 'location' in business is being tossed to the side of the road. A nicely decorated, ideally located mall or vendor won't have anything on some schmuck who decided to go DE for a month and plopped down a vendor in his backyard to sell underpriced equipment.

Listing prices on the bazaar is bad. Period. This new iteration of the galaxy vendor is STILL not satisfactory. It's so simple...just yank prices!

Anybody who thought they weren't going to list prices is just delusional. Even if somehow it wasn't in the first style, the massive outcry from all the non-crafters would force them to add it in.
It's still better than EverQuest IIs "broker" system.

I certainly don't agree. Hide your head in the sand if you want; the only way we're going to change it is make sure our voices are heard. They are most definitely paying attention to our feedback on this one.

Once the non-crafter's see the system I don't think they'll be too happy with it either... Imagine taking all the junk from all the vendors in the galaxy and shoving it all into one vendor... Even with the extremely small economy of TC people are being overwelmed with listings and don't have a chance of finding what they're looking for.

I was personally okay with having to travel to the vendor as long as I knew they had it. What I hated was doing a planet search and finding a vendor that was empty or didn't have what I was specifically looking for.
This shouldn't be hard to implement, should it?
