I was personally okay with having to travel to the vendor as long as I knew they had it. What I hated was doing a planet search and finding a vendor that was empty or didn't have what I was specifically looking for.
This shouldn't be hard to implement, should it?
No, that is exactly what a majority of us wanted. Just a list of vendors with waypoints that you knew for sure had your item.
At this point, it really seems like it's a losing battle, you can't imagine how muchwe fought when the idea first came out. We fought hard. Many logical posts were made about why it was bad. Then it came out in this current form anyway. Everything that could be said was said before, aparrently it wasn't enough.
I will be shocked if this doesn't go through.
Well, let's face it...we all knew it was going to come back in some iteration. We just need to make sure it's acceptable for the majority.

Akkori wrote:The Devs are going to do whatever they want to appease the people who only fight, and complain that merchant are just greedy.
If that were true, they wouldn't have yanked the first iteration.
Akkori wrote:Haven't you noticed? This is the SAME proposal they "yanked". The only thing they got rid of is remote retrieval, and hsving the prices as a sortable column. You can still see the price, just examine the item. Its 98% of the proposal so many people condemned before.
I'd call that different.
Look, we're both ticked that this change is imminent. All I'm saying is I'm not giving up hope until the fat lady sings. Even if it goes live, if we continue to throw up a stink about it, they will HAVE to change it. Keep the faith, bro.

Prices are available, they can be sorted under the "Bid Column" (just like normal bazzar listings).
I never say this (you can search my posts, LOL) but if this goes live like that I quit.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that it would kill the economy. People spout half-truths like, "It's like real life, where you can get on the internet and know the prices of everything!"
That's not true, there are nearly infinite levels of knowledge - yet none of them is this "perfect" knowledge this system would give.
This would ruin the entire economic mini-game of SWG only to cater to the "I want everything I want now with zero effort" combat crowd who resents every red credit they give us.
Seriously. If they do it like this it will be one sad, sad day - the most immersive, amazing, organic system ever devised for an MMO will go out the window.

And see, this is what just about EVERYONE wants.
The lazy people who hate crafters will NEVER be happy with anything that doesn't get them what they want, the absolute cheapest possible, served to them on a red-ruby platter. I mean, listen to some of them - they say, "Without instant delivery, this is useless!" What a crock!
Most people would be happy to travel wherever (in this age of JTL and 1-minute shuttle trips) to visit a store that they know has what they want.
Listing on the bazaar, without prices, does this. With prices, the economy will simply dry up and crafting will become about as popular as Image Designing.
Honestly, you might as well just sell raw resources to an NPC and have everyone buy off NPC vendors - the same effect will be achieved this way.
