Thread: Petition to developers: Droid Engineer Exp all droid engineers please respond
It is the opinion of many of my fellow Droid Engineers that the current ladder of experience is too harsh. 48,000 Droid Craftng EXP is needed to get a sing tier 1 box when the best thing we can do at novice is make MSE droids. MSE droids cost us 57 metal and 15 chemical (about 600 credits worth of resources on the market) and only award us 140 Droid Craft EXP. UXP is also broken so we do not gain any experience when someone is using our droids. I and my fellow Crafters have spent countless hours on end without great satisfaction.
We request that something is done to reduce the needed grind to get at least the second, if not third tier of droid engineer skills.
All droid engineers who are in favor please respond with your Character name and Server.

I'm not to Droid Engineer quite yet, but I know it hasn't changed much since last week!
I think we need a few things.
1. More droids, more droid options at all levels ofDE, especially Novice since you're supposed to be getting into (and interested) in the field.
2. Fix droid UXP!
Those two things alone would help quite a bit I imagine.

Sign me up for this as well.
Heck even getting TO DE is hard enough. Gah still 18k to go at 40xp a shot.

I'm working to get novice droid engineering right now, but sign me up for this petition too. When I saw 48,000 xp for the first box, I thought droids got you 500 to 1000 xp each. If they're only getting you around 140 then something does need to be fixed.
TOTALLY AGREE. I was thinking about getting into DE, but I don't know if I will with it this ridiculous. I could much easier go into Weaponsmithing for FAR less xp. This is stupid! We need to rage against the machine!

Well my thought were expresed in my thread "So i made enough droids for every one in my galaxy.....", but I will repeat it here. It is (with the exception of Jedi) the most 'star warsy' profession in the game. Unfortunatly it has been made near impossible.
I agree with the Devs that we dont want thousands of Master DE running around the first week but why are we expected to work so hard in comparrison to others.
It would take me 2 days totally grinding to reach any 1st box. Compare this to other professions I or close friends are doing currently:
Weaponsmith 1 box 2 hours grinding (lower GCXP to qualify)
Armoursmith 1 box 2 hours grinding (lower GCXP to qualify)
Architect 1 box 4 hours grinding (Higher GCXP to qualify)
Bioengineer 1 box 2 hours messing around for DNA sampling
Creature Handler 3 hours Grinding
I can only comment on these that I know, but that accounts for most of the Artisan higher levels.
I am not asking for it to be a breeze but i would like it to be achievable. I feel pretty sure that under current standings the last profession to see a player master will be the DE. Most will just give up before hand.
I even thought about factory producing items to get 10% XP but that meant 5440 Lvl 1 armor modules just for 1 advancement. When tested in beta even learning blueprints didnt increase the XP gain more than 2times. R4 and R5 gave about 300xp IIRC.
Please show the DE some compassion so we can see some droids in game.

Not a DE yet, but I'm planning on it, and I agree.

I think the 28.8k general crafting is alot, but fair. It forced me to figure out a way to get into crafting bone armor. I realized there are several ways to get that 28k. Grinding tools ( <homer> BORING! </homer>
, killing stuff for bones/hides and making armor pieces, buying bones/hides. I wish there was something else to craft pre-DE that allowed faster XP, but its not a huge issue. I just made my engIV box, and now I am trying for Novice DE.
However, the 48k droid xp is harsh. Mouse droids are good for stuff though. I believe we get a medical module at Novice Droid eng, correct? So they can be portable medical stations. While it is tempting to make blueprints your first box, i think it makes more sense to get the other modules first, to expand the capabilities of the mouse droids. (Unless they actually do make R# droids the only crafting stations again).
Anyway, I'll be (re)joining the ranks of droid eng soon!

agreed. I thought it was fairly significant to have to grind out 70 or so mouse droids as it was back in beta. The insane amount of grinding that is REQUIRED to get beyond novice droid engineer is absurd. I've found that I haven't had to grind much in artisan. Weapons and bone armor are in high demand, and I can't even keep up with the number of people who want to buy stuff. I don't see it being like that at all at novice DE. Sure you could sell a few mouse droids for the novelty, but cmon.. do i need to have to sell 300+ to get anywhere in my profession? sheesh. Lack of variety here hurts also.
