I'm basically writing this post because I'm strongly considering retiring as a master droid engineer. The only droids I sell consistently are BH related whether probe, seeker or bomb droids and i'm just not making a lot of money lol. I'm also amaster weaponsmith too and make a lot more money from crafting weapons than i do droids. So I'm wondering if theres anyone out there in the same boat as me and for those of you that are in this profession for the long haul why you would recommend keeping it?
My guildmates have suggested that I keep it even though no one in my guild has needed a droid in some time. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks!

I've been crafting droids since June 2003. I'll never do anything else, but I may take a few months off here and there. I love being known as the "droid guy" everywhere I go (even with a "businessman" tag on), and I've put soooo much work into building my business, website, and shop.
I would like to see some candy thrown to us crafters soon, though. You can only craft so many probots before you start to question your existence.

I could not have said this better myself. It sums up how I feel.

Been DE since launch (or at least been working on it since launch) and most likely will be here till they take down the servers... I enjoy the profession in general really. Its complex as all hell with more than its fair share of quirks, which is precisely why I love it. Sales can be good if you invest enough time in it, though I've never been in it for the credits. Its the custimization and atmosphere of DE that keep me here, not just making crates of the same weapon/armor over and over every day.

I have been in for the long haul and I'm starting to question myself why.
I've been playing since beta 3 and wanted to be a DE since then. When the game went live I became a DE and I've never surrendered any of the skills.

I'd say at this point that I've been in it for the long haul already.
What I hope is that I'll have reason to continue to do so moving forward.
I'm a happy Wookiee to see that I'll finally get to go 'home' soon though.

in for the long haul!
I don't change my crafting professions too much. I just start another character.

Long haul. Got extremely lucky when it came to placing my vendors. They're in a very high profile spot. I'm keeping them well stocked with a large variety of chassis/modules variations to cash in on impulse buying too so I'm doing pretty well.

I'm in it for the long haul. As long as I'm in the game, I will keep my crafter a DE.
Interest and playtime may waver. Distractions and real life may get in the way. But I'll remain a DE as long as I'm here.

The thing that kinda sucks is that we're so integrally attached to Master Artisan. It's almost a necessity to have it. So it's like, well, if you want to be a DE, you have enough skill points to master one more profession, so choose well.
I think griping also comes standard with the DE profession. Ok, maybe it's just me.
