Thread: Pre-Publish 18 Droid Deed Warning

Directly from my testing of pre-publish 18 crafted droids.....

Warning - May be unsuitable for some audiences.

I found a couple of Droid deeds on a vendor, out in the township of Tatooine's Market Place. The first deed was for an LE combat droid with a Health listing of 2923 and a Combat Rating of 261, on the Deed itself. The Droid was advertised as having 5550 HAM and a 261 Combat Rating. It appeared to be a pre-CU crafted droid.

When I called the droid from the deed, the following stats were listed in the datapad...

DL 20

Health 2923

Health Regen 10

Armor Effectiveness 4000

When I called the droid for the second time, the following stats were listed....

DL 20

Health 2923

Health Regen 10

Armor Effectiveness 348

Besides the standard drop in Armor Effectiveness bug, that has been reported numerous times now, there was also another issue...

The droid doesn't have any combat ability. There is no listing in the datapad for an attack or guard command. There is no listing for a Programmable of either command.

With a Combat Rating of 261, the droid should have produced a CL25 Droid with close to max damage output. This is not the case.

The second Droid Deed that I used was an Adv R3 with a 3742 Health and 523 Combat Rating, listed on the deed. The droid was advertised (named) as having 4297 HAM and a 523 Combat Rating. It appeared to be a pre-CU crafted droid.

When I called the droid from the deed, the following stats were listed in the datapad...

DL 30

Health 3742

Health Regen 10

Armor Effectiveness 6000

When I called the droid for the second time, the following stats were listed....

DL 30

Health 3742

Health Regen 10

Armor Effectiveness 1217

This Droid suffered from the same nutering that the Adv LE did. 0 combat listings.

I will be warning the entire DE community to remove all currently craftedcombat droids from their vendors, until a fix for this issue is added. I would highly suggest that this code be pulled until it is done correctly, or there will be tons of new CSR tickets being opened, with many DEs being blamed for trying to rip customers off.

I Highly suggest that all current combat droids be pulled from your vendors. This patch is likely to cause many issues, if the current droids are bought by someone, on to find out that the droid is no longer a combat droid, but is rather a decently armored novelty item.

Droid Health vs Combat Rating

All droidchassishave the same base Health ratings, that are linked to the CL.Experimentation on the droid deed does not have any effect on any shown stat, including Health.

CL 1 = 108 Health
CL 5 = 594 Health
CL 10 = 1715 Health
CL15 = 2514 Health
CL 20 = 2923 Health
CL25 =3333 Health
CL 30 = 3742 Health

This 'change' makes it pointless to craft anything other the droid that can hold the most modules (IE Adv R3) since in the past there was a choice between High Health/Low Combat (LE), High Combat/Low Health(Probot), and Mid Combat/Mid Health(R-Units).

Creature Level

A higher creature level can be achieved in 3 ways.

  1. Installing Droid Armor

  2. Installing Combat Modules

  3. Combining both.

Armor Modules provide a bonus of 5CL per level of droid armor.

Droid Armor Level 1 = CL5
Droid Armor Level2 = CL10
Droid Armor Level3 = CL15
Droid Armor Level4 = CL20
Droid Armor Level5 = CL25
Droid Armor Level6 = CL30

Combat Modules provide 5CL per every 55 points of Combat Rating.

CL5 = 1 - 55 Combat Rating
CL10 = 56 - 110 Combat Rating
CL15 = 111 - 165 Combat Rating
CL20 = 166 - 220 Combat Rating
CL25 = 221 -275 Combat Rating
CL30 = 276 + Combat Rating

You can stack the effects of Combat Modules and Droid Armor together, inorder to gain the CL30 Rating. Simply add the bonus of the Armor Module to the bonus of the Combat Module.

Armor Effectiveness

Armor Effectiveness is influnced by both the Armor Modules that are installed and the number of Combat Modules that are installed. Armor Modules have a direct 1k per level ratio. (IE Level 1 = 1k and Level 6 = 6k)

Combat Modules provide 0.5kof Armor Effectiveness per 55 points of Combat Rating, up to 3k, or 276 Combat Rating.

Droid Armor Level 1 = 1k Armor Effectiveness
Droid Armor Level2 =2k Armor Effectiveness
Droid Armor Level3 =3k Armor Effectiveness
Droid Armor Level4 =4k Armor Effectiveness
Droid Armor Level5 =5k Armor Effectiveness
Droid Armor Level6 = 6k Armor Effectiveness

1 - 55 Combat Rating = 0.5k Armor Effectiveness
56 - 110 Combat Rating = 1.0k Armor Effectiveness
111 - 165 Combat Rating = 1.5k Armor Effectiveness
166 - 220 Combat Rating = 2.0k Armor Effectiveness
221 -275 Combat Rating = 2.5k Armor Effectiveness
276 + Combat Rating = 3.0k Armor Effectiveness

Armor Effectiveness can be stacked to provide a maximum rating of 9k.

Unfortunately, the Armor Effectiveness rating changes after the first time that te droid is called. To reproduce this effect, call the droid from a deed and store it. Call the droid a second time and inspect the datapad listings. The Droid will update to the below listed stats. Armor Effectiveness that is solely from Droid Armor will reverty toa 0 rating. Armor Effectiveness that is given by a combat module will revert to the following

CL10 = 0
CL15 = 0
CL20 = 20
CL25 = 783
CL30 = 1217

Combat Rating

The Combat Rating is currently not having any effect on the final build of a droid. The Combat Rating is no longer showing up in the Droid Deed crafting window, nor is it showing up on the final droid. The Damage output of a droid is completely based upon its CL rating.

CL 10
45 - 240 Damage
38to Hit / 38 Defense Value

CL 20
50 - 250
67to Hit /67 Defense Value

CL 25
56 - 268
76to Hit /76 Defense Value

CL 30
61- 284
81to Hit /81 Defense Value

Attack Speed

The Attack Speed rating appears to be MIA. A Droid no longer lists that attack speed that it has.

Droid Conversion from the datapad

Combat Droids appear to have been converted to the maximum damage and armor, regardless of what the actual values were. As long as the droid has either a Armor Module or Combat Module present, it will gain the maximum rating available. (IE 1 Combat Module pre publish will produce a CL30 Droid with the highest damage listing.)

The following will be the stats on all pre-exisiting droids, according to the short time that the code was on Test Center Prime. Since I didn't have a droid on TC-Corby, I have no other data to work wtih.

CL 30
Health3742
Armor Effectiveness 1217
Damage 61- 284
to Hit 81
Defense Value 81

Have you tried pre CU droids that were in a datapad. If so this will either cause great greif, or great greif for everyone except droid egineers who will re sell combat droids. Glad I only have one on my vendor...

Pre-Built datapad droids converted to the max combat damage.

This only appears to apply to droids in deed form. I'm trying to gather some more info pass on.....

And here it is...

An Adv Probot, listed ast 2596 Health and 528 Combat, on a vendor, has the following listed stats, on the vendor.

Health 2596

Action 0

Mind 0

Combat Rating 528

When I pull the droid off of the vendor, the deed listed the following stats

Health 3742

Combat Rating 528

When I undeeded the droid, all combat ability was lost. The only thing that it retained was the 6k Armor effectiveness.

What I suspect is that the Combat Rating is not being translated properly, or at all, since Publish 18 crafted Droids no longer show a combat rating.

I also suspect that the Armor Effectiveness and Combat Level of pre-crafted droids are based solely off of the amror modules that are installed, which is why the armor/CL shows up, but the attack commands do not.

What about pre-publish tank probots? (only 5 auto heal mods)

I haven't found any yet. But since the combat ability was taken out of all droids, inherently, I would guess that the droid will run for them thar hills

do armor level 6 modules work now ? I see them needing battle armor segments but havent bothered with them since lvl 4 doesnt do anything either. Did test center make it worth my time to get an armorsmith to make me some segments ?

Yes, they "work"... currently all droid armor works, but only for one call, then they are borked down to like 10% protection max

Well, they still have time to fix this bug before it goes live.

I can't IMAGINE them letting a profession-breaking bug like this get pushed to Live.

Thats not exactly correct.

The Armor Effectiveness of pre existing droids, currently listedin the datapad, will convert to 1217 and a CL 30 droid, as long as the droid has at least 1 armor module and combat module installed, prior to publish 18s release.

Any Deeded droids will convert to only the armor module installed (not 100% certain of this, but it seems to be the only answer to what is going on.) If the Armor module was a Level 6, or a combonation of its equvilent, then the droid will have 6k armor, when first called and then will revert to 1217 on the second calll. This will produce a CL 30 Droid.

See this link for the full break down of how things are supposed to work after the Publish hits. But be warned.....things aren't working like they should.

So basically all the pre-cu droid I still have with maxed HAM and Combat will be rendered useless?

Also, are newly crafted droids having this same problem? That after the second calling the Combat rating leaves?

All indications, according to the droids that I bought off three different vendors, point towards the droids being completely borked.

The Health on all droidshas been reduced to the base CL of the droid. For all droids found on a vendor, the CL appears to be completely based off the rating of the armor installed.

The Combat Rating seems to have 0 effect on the droid.

The Armor Effectiveness on a droid called from a pre-exisiting deed will revert to the following, on the second call of the droid.

CL20 = 20
CL25 = 783
CL30 = 1217

Anything under CL20 = 0 Armor Effectiveness.

Also, are newly crafted droids having this same problem? That after the second calling the Combat rating leaves?

Publish 18 crafted droids keep their combat functions. All of the gathered info that is listed on the Issues Thread, which I will repeat here, still holds truth. The Armor Effectiveness rating on all droids will change, after the second call from the datapad.

CL15 = 111 - 165 Combat Rating
