Thread: TK? customize duration
/bump
yes the yshould increase alot, its a fun factor nothing else, no money maker or such.
darn, let us have some fun coloring droids for simply the look
well thanks for an answer TK,
i am just a bit dissapointed about your opinion. seems u dont care if the duration is to low :/
it is to short and simply annoying to paint a droid or vehicle that often, then it starts that ppl dont bother at all.
yes the resource use isnt the big deal on it, what makes me angry on it is that it is a rediculous sink, which isnt needed and dont benefit anybody but ruins the fun, pls most important it makes absolutely no sense at all after so less calls that it fades.
i can only bring again and again the example how often u color your car when u drive to McDonalds or a supermarket.
this ultra short duration is crap and u should know that.
my question to you was actually if you would gonna path that to the devs, because its a concern abut fun factor, that darn tool isnt a moneymaker or a real sink. its a fun sink and thats not what it should be. color of customized clothes should also wear off after your logic, but its not, why droids have to?
personaly it depends on your game play for me 20 calles is 2 months .. thats right i have not needed to repaint my droid for 2 months. why? well i dont call my R seriesdroids that often mostly just to build droids on the fly and thats not often as i use my station 90 % of the time. but on the flip side my friend calles his droid5 -10 times a day when hes doing his delivery for customers so for him its2 - 4 times a week that it needs repainting (the droids are the guilds colors) but he doesent mind it .. so it all comes down to what does 50 calles meen to YOU .. for me its 3 - 4 months
besides now you can have a "base coat" of the color of your choice and when the droids called thats the color it stays now
well sorry babyblue thats not correct,
the color u set when u assemble the droid will NOT stay, it works like an initial paintjob and goes off after that specific calls.
and only cause u let your droid out every some weeks it dont mean that all should be happy then with that low call limit.
but main question is while defending the devs ideas of color decay. give me only one valid point why the color should fade that fast?
i am curious, and i know u cant give me even one valid point, cause there is none for such a rediculous short duration. ![]()
PS: the color duration goes also for vehicles, and i call my vehicle kinda often, so i dotn paint that eitehr, cause not worth it

With all due respect, you don't know what I care about, Veers. I was simply letting you know that the number of calls is likely to stay where it is for now.
Sure...I can tell them, "Well....Veers is really up in arms over droid painting. We need to change it 5000 calls."
You think that will go?
You need to calm down, man..............................it's PAINT.
I think we have more pressing issues to be on top of, thank you.
it is to short and simply annoying to paint a droid or vehicle that often, then it starts that ppl dont bother at all.
It doesn't annoy me. It takes me all of about 10-15 secs. to paint my droid. That extra 10-15 seconds annoys you?
If so, I guess I'll start a poll if you want to see how the community feels on this issue. If there's enough 'juice' to the issue, I can make it our number one item. I think that'd be a horrible waste though.

It makes sense to me. Paint fades...that's just what happens. Yes, I realize you'd like it to be permanent or raised to some ridiculously high number.
Then we'd have DEs asking, "Why do we even have to make these and use them?!?!" and....
It's a never ending, can't-make-us-happy cycle. For now, you need to calm down and get over this. I've noted your opinion. But, for me....right now, it's your opinion. I would need to know how a LOT more DEs feel on this new change to move forward on anything.
i can only bring again and again the example how often u color your car when u drive to McDonalds or a supermarket.
This isn't real life. This is SOE's baby. At some point, you need to let go...and get over it. It's just paint, man.
this ultra short duration is crap and u should know that.
I've noted your opinion. For future reference, try to be a bit nicer. It's hard for me to want to agree with you when I feel flamey yuckiness dripping from your post.

Right now? No...I'm not going to make this a huge issue. We have bigger things to be concerned about than this. They already increased the number of calls. For now, we should live with that and see how it shakes out.
If this is still an issue over time, sure....we should get it checked out. I caution you, however, that there very likely will be a point at which the number of calls will be perma-capped.
Respectfully,
veers is right, people are tired of bothering with stuff like this. painting your droid should be fun but they turned it into a chore. they need to turn off all decay of paint. so you arent bothered wasting your time to paint your stuff and being troubled to have the item on you to paint, but i am bothered and thats what matters to me.
point is, they took something fun like painting a vehicle or droid and turned it into something NOT FUN, having to paint it on a regular basis which is a CHORE.
this is a game, its supposed to be fun, there is no point in making us paint all the time
Paint is not a chore, paint is an option. You don't need to paint your droid - it is perfectly functional if you just leave it the default color (or in the case of the R series, the default random colors that change every time you call them).
Battery life was a much more significant problem because it wasn't optional, it was required. And since it was required it was very annoying.
If you don't like dealing with Droid Customization Kits, then don't make them and leave your Droid(s) the default color. There are plenty of people who think that painting their Droid is cool and who are perfectly happy to purchase and use paint kits.
Speaking of which, has anyone checked to see whether or not they're now usable by everyone like they're supposed to be?
It isnt going to be a "resource sink" if most people say screw it, I'll just leave it the color it is. Most people are busy running missions and earning credits and FP to be overly concerned enough to stop and paint their droids every 50 calls. You'll get more use from one time paint jobs than no uses from noone bothering with them.
Can you see a combatant using even 2 packpack slots to carry painting tools ? Space is at too much of a premium to waste it on frivalous paint tools.
Some people buy extra droids for the 10 item storage, just to be able to carry more stims, resources ,etc. NOT to carry paint kits.
Whilesome may not think it's a pain in the arse - most people i've talked to DO.
