I just hope they give us something other than a R3 chassis to put them in...

Since we're dealing with some still rather fuzzy information here, it might look something like this:

Astromechs (R5, R4, R2, R3)might have a slot for 1 "combat" module.

DZ-70's might gain slots for 2-3 "combat" modules.

Probots might gain slots for3-4 "combat" modules.

ADV-Probots (and whatever other CL 10 chassis they're giving us)might gain slots for 4-6 "combat" modules.

???

Just guessing? I could be way off, but it might be similar to this.

I believe the original notes said that Combat Modules would go into the same general module slots as any other module, not in special "Combat Module" slots.

Well,

1. They'd need to figure out how to reconcile that addition with the Probot's "built in" combat ability that already exists.

2. Honestly, why would an R3 be kicking ass left and right over a Probot?

Just curious concerns on my part... again, we're really shooting in the dark here without the info.

Because the R-series of droids is inheirantly more cool the probots?

I guess we will have to see if they re-assign general doid modules before the patch goes live.

Note: I'm not a Droid Engineer, but I am always in favor of more useful droids (and the improvement in immersion they bring), be they combat or utility droids.

I think this part of the post was misspoken. I am betting that the Combat Module will have 6 Levels, just like all the other modules with varying ratings. So a hard to make Combat Module Level 6 would do the most damage and can go into a BLL. But if you want a kickbutt R unit and don't have the ability to make CM L6 modules, you start stacking lower Level modules together to get up to that Level 6 cap.

By gum, you might be right. What if 'Level 6 100%' was what was meant, and not simply 'Six 100%' modules....

Perhaps....that would make sense, but I doubt it, since they are talking about stacking. No, they specifically say that while yes, it will go in regular module sockets, only certain droids will be able to have them. So this means new droids, geared towards combat, with that many sockets, is my guess. I'm in love with this, I can't even explain how much...there are things that could be different in a perfect world, but the way they gave us the core of what we really want while not jeopardizing other professions is ASTOUNDING. I hope you are all as excited as I am

I am hoping your guess is right here. I can't stomach the thought of an R2 turning into Rambo. It makes no sense at all. One shot out of an off center little droid and he would fall over backwards. Plus it has no bearing in any of the Star Wars history. R series have never been combat capable. Just little shockers to try and scare things away.

Hmm, they will still be CL10, won't they? And since you can get the most modules into R2s and R3s we'll be making armies of Daleks instead of Droideka?

Then we can throw in a barking module to constantly yell, "EXTERMINATE!"

I would think that they would make the combat module be the 'default' combat item used and the regular Probot would have no inherent combat mode. That's one way to go. The other way, is that if the Probot doesn't get a combat module installed, it uses what it has now. If you use a combat module in it, you'd simply get a better/different attack type.

2. Honestly, why would an R3 be kicking ass left and right over a Probot?

Apparently because it will have more module slot, I guess.
