Respectfully,

Somehow I doubt it was any of the Devs that one-starred you, so talk to your fellow DE's about your problem with the post-rating system.

By the way, copping a snide attitude towards the Devs isn't going to get them to respond to you. Not to mention, that you should probably have taken out the "/bow Respecfully" since that's like saying "no offense but...." Y'know what? Saying "no offense" doesn't excuse you from saying something offensive. Just like showing a complete lack of respect isn't suddenly excuse because you throw "/bow Respecfully" at the end of all your posts.

JustG,

Are you going to use the system you put in place of posting in In Concept, then moving to In Development, In Test and In Live? This would seem to be the perfect time for the Devs to tell us what you have up your minds. Kinda get the yellin', screamin' and finger pointin' out of the way first.

If you're going to fix a bunch of bugs, throw in some level tens, add some combat mods....well Gee Just say so...then tell us a little about Patch 8 and I think you'll find you have more support than you think.

I'm not too concerned about who it was, really....to be honest.

I'm not sure that I'd say I was copping anattitude, soit's good that I wasn't actually looking to GET a response. I couldn't care lessif they reply to my (but it's happened plenty in the past).

I came to say what Iwanted to say on the issue....that's all. No attitude was brought here, perhaps other than sadness.

Hear that?

That's the sound of dozens of DE's clicking the My Profile link at the top of the page and changing their personal signature.

TK, you're getting bitter

Have patience, my friend. It may not have gotten any better for DEs, but there's no doubt the game HAS gotten better. Significantly. Communication from the devs has gotten better. Significantly. (even if some people want more, it still is better, no doubt)

All I can say is if DEs haven't seen there love yet, there's a reason. Good or bad, there's a reason. I know you've had patience for a long time, but...well...we all need more.

There's a lot of other stuff to love about this game until DEs get fixed. Getting mad, and angry, and bitter is only going to make you feel worse. It pushes you further towards the "Dark Side", if you will. It won't get things fixed quicker, and it won't make anyone feel better.

I'm not flaming, just trying to give some helpful advice to someone who's posts I've always respected and trying to give the devs credit where credit is due.

You're confusing activity with achievement. They are not the same.

And how are you any more special than any other profession in this game? Every profession has had this same sort of treatment - virtual silence from the devs about forthcoming changes, other than "here is the complete revamp, live with it". And that has only happened twice - CH and Chef. The high and mighty attitude shown by so many in the forum is quite astonishing. There are many good veteran DEs that are no longer participating in this forum anymore and are still practicing the art of DE because they are so sick of the spoilt brat mentality of people like yourself, Audio, Virtanis and so forth. Your constant ranting and "I'm so good I'm doing a 'breakdown' of your posts" attitude is not garnering any favour with the devs or many, many DEs. I myself have practically stopped visiting the DE forums because of this constant whining. If you don't like it, leave. Go moan about some other profession. You'll soon learn that the tune will be the same, just the words are different. The devs are doing their job, and can see fit to how they want to do it, based on many more inputs than you'll ever see. Take off those "I'm a DE so I deserve special treatment" blinkers and come to reality so that you may realise that if we get changes, that is good, but if we don't who cares it's not like we cannot function at all.

Hey now, don't turn off the pressure, just switch the hose...

Why don't we all remove the November comment from our sigs and replace it with the one he just made? I'd rather see that happen now, as a reminder, thana month from now, as a gripe.

Now....to business.

You have an In Concept thread for everything but DE fixes. This understood since they were past that point in the new communication stream when it was initiated.

There is no In Development information about Publish 7's Combat Modules. If I understand the process correctly, you are currently writing code for these mysterious items. You appear to be doing this sans input from the slice of the DE community on the forums here. Please provide some information for us....if we have all of the developer attention what are you doing?

Thanks!

Somehow, this late Jan post re-appeared on Dev Tracker. Only new post is a personal flame. But...

Stick me.

In the next two publishes, after crackdown, we are focusing specifically on Droids. We plan on implementing combat droids (< level 10) in P7, and Utility Droids in P8.

My apologies for not posting here more often, it is a big game with alot of moving parts. And I am sorry if you are pissed as a group about my November quote, I hope I have explained, and I hope you understand, that things change. Your publish has been moved back one, and it is next.

You have all of our development attention now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this really (still) the current plan? TH made a similar post at about the same time, but said it was combat modules in P7, not whole new droids. Then the subject seemed to disappear.

There is still nothing specific identified for P7, but something should go to test soon. Given past history, I expect a horrified reaction from the community when it does -- pretty much no matter what it is.

Perhaps a dribbling out of specifics before the code goes to test would be desirable, if only to spread the flames a little thinner so they don't burn so deep.
