It really is about this specific matter. Functionality is most important, but more combat droids differing by functionality and damage type, NOT higher than CL 10, are the key to real progress here.

On a side note - interesting that we're not as overwhelming on the side of utility as I imagined we were. You combat hungry uber-gamers will be our ruin!

true. but 2/3 in favor of utility is still a significant majority. Shoot, that's all it takes to pass a constitutional amendment in the US senate.

#1 - I belive that every class should have a droid with a specific function.
Even something akin to an R2 with a radar module that can increase the HUD radar's range. Or having a droid for rangers that provides a modest boost to harvesting or creature knowledge stats.
Lets drop the combat droid altogether.

there is no point in adding combat droids until we have more free time to USE them. let the first batch lessen the load so we can get out more when combat is good to go :-)
also, the usage of war droids has tended to be cyclic in SW timeline. we are in a downswing at this point inthe story(a few BH and assassin and probe droids around). in another 30ish years they will be the bomb again (The New Jedi Order introduces the YVH droids).

I'm afraid putting too much emphasis in combat droids will turn DE's into the equivalent of Creature Handlers (only we'll be using droids, instead). I don't want to see that. I'd much rather see what we have right now improved instead of put on the back burner to untested and much more deveopment lengthy combat droids.

There's a slew of things in the game that could be given to the droids to do with just a small amount of coding. Example - have a droid be able to repair a vehicle.

If I don't get combat droids (NOT improved probots) then I will close my DE account.
