CL10 Combat droids will be cool for about a month, then most players will think of them as trash. Ah, what could have been if the Droid Commander had come in

Wouldn't some CL70 Droids be cool to see in the game?

Well....Its a good start. Hey can someone answer for me a question? I want to know the specific reqs that make you a community vet, I make mistakes all the time and it wold be cool if I could fix0r them. Ok, well I guess I could just check my posts for errors, but Im much to lazy to read a few extra lines. I know It has to do with time, but does it have to do with amount of posts? I have yet to see a vet without 100 posts, so is it 100 posts and 6 months? Im approaching the 6 month mark and would like to know If I am going to be a veteran. Thanks.

From my own experience, it takes 147 days registered. I had well over 100 posts at that time and about 11,000 minutes logged, so at least for me the trigger was the 147 days. You would be a veteran if you had 100 posts, I think.

For those asking about R3 Adv combat effectiveness vs Probot effectiveness:

We've had no response yet, but with all the great changes coming they could very well add more slots to the existing droid types in an attempt to place heavier emphasis on the "combat" droids that currently exist. Of course, this is just me being hopefull.

Oh and TH,

You are by far the hardest person on this board to quote, please be kind and stop with all the HTML.

I'll second that!

It takes me a solid 5 minutes to cut out all the HTML before I can quote a short post by you, Thunderheart. Come on, it only encourages us to be less clear what we're talking about, or misquote you.

Devs,

This is a terrific start. It's apparent from this post that you are indeed listening.

Rework droid chassis (make the BLL/LE/Tredwell/Powerdroid actually useful) and perhaps add a new combat chassis, and you might actually be able to take the DE profession off life support for the first time since launch.

Wonderful. I've been thinking about utility droids, and will probably start a brainstorm in the DE for if i get around to it.

Note that with the proposed system, Droids SHOULD be slightly weaker than pets, as droids are immune to poison, bleeds, stc. Hope this is taken into account.

With them adding combat capabilities to the Astromechs (as I had read are in existance on TC), I sometimes wonder if the Devs are fans of thegenre or not...

I am so happy to read this post. We had big concerns over in the DE forum a lot of them being 'if they are just CL10, what is the point? They are just gonna suck anyway'....yet this has been dealt with so well by including experimentation with ham, allowing them to be healed, and making it so players can have both a cl10 pet and a cl10 droid out...I'm impressed, stunned, and amazed by the depth of thought here. Thanks a ton TH, you've really given us something to work with.

There are a lot of nifty ideas that could be included in all this, and a lot of things that could be seesaw changed this way or that...but in all honesty, this is beautiful. So much more than I expected.

Thanks a ton, TH.

I am truly excited about this. Cheer up folks...this is a good thing. The 'all crafters who disappear all the time' are not 'winning out' or what have you, its a great step in the right direction that shows the devs are giving this a great deal of thought, and some honest work I'm excited, thrilled I hope you all are too. We're going to have some truly interesting new stuff, and this is after all a game...games aren't about grinding all day and trying to just be uber...its the uber guys who leave the game in four months This game is about much more, and I feel we just got a shot of steroids in the arm here. Great changes, awesome outlook, a lot to be positive about. We're definitely getting much closer to the front line of where the profit is, the combat professions, and at the same time we're getting to spread our droidy-goodness galaxy wide. Not to mention, I'm quite sure the CHs should be happy about this...whether they know it or not, they just got a bunch more firepower on top of their uber pets at no real extra cost other than a few creds here and there.

Please stop trying to drag people down...just for once

Im really glad to see this is whats good for DEs and good for the community. You guys have no idea how we wrestled with this. This was a huge decision.

Thanks for everyone's input and thanks for going the extra mile to keep everything positive
