Thread: Publish 7 (Droid Invasion): Please report any/all bugs or 'strangeness' here ONLY!! (03/16/04)
I despair I really do......
1. The droid repair kits are too complicated both in the number of them and the complexity to create one - how many DEs will bother ?
2. Why the heck can't I use a General Socket Cluster in the Socket Cluster Socket on an R3 why does it have to be and Combat Capable Cluster when I don't want to put combat modules in ? I understand you need to stop combat clusters going into non-combat droids but I should be able to put general clusters into anything - otherwise I have to make two different versions of the same cluster for say a med droid (med110+item store+food crafter in 1 cluster) . I just wasted an hour and a load of components discovering this little gem.
3. When the novelty wears off as far as I can see you're better off with a creature pet - another plus for our CH friends, cheaper to run, easier to look after.
4. Why have we got to wait until pub 8 for droid customisation to be available to everyone - I can't believe the code path is significantly different to vehicle customisation.....

You only have to read this thread to realise how bad the DE profession has got when the best way to use a droid is as a coloured peice of furniture - it sums up how bloody useless droids have become.
I can't believe how many things have been screwed up by this patch and how little we have gained from it.
I too have found the armour problem, the repair module not working anymore problem etc. etc.- what a mess ![]()

I'm having a problem changing the name of a droid now. Made an Adv. Probot last night with nothing but combat mods and could not name him once called...Anyone else having the same problem? Thanks
I am pretty upset about Publish 7, but it seems everyone is very quick to jump on the NERF wagon.
Has it even been confirmed that Armor Rating : NONE is a bug or really a Nerf?
It could possible be an overlooked bug that just shows None, but it still is Medium (if you used an L6 Armor Module)
Also I noticed someone say that an L6 Armor Module now only gives 20%, that is incorrect. When you first make the driod and take it out for the first time, if you do a EXAMINE on it, it will say 20%. But if you Store the Droid, then take him out again it will say 40% as it should for a L6 Armor Module.
Themain things I am really upset about are :
A) Combat Clusters ONLY in my AstroMech Droids. These Crafting Droids were my main source of income.
B) To much programming time (it seems) went into making8 Types of Repair Kits and all the different pieces and ridiculous specialized NAMED Resources to make them. 2 would have been sufficient, and you should have spent the rest of your time on the COMBAT part.
TK,
Step 1. Grab your favorite friendly trustworthy Master Tailor, whom you gave your Droidsmiths' ToolKit Schematic to.
Step 2. Give the Master Tailor the two identical heavy duty clasps that the schematic calls for.
Step3. Give him EVERY variety of Droid Repair Kit, and Resuscitation Kit that can be made bya Master DE.
Step 4.Watch as the Master Tailor tries to put into the schematic everyone of your components, with ZERO luck atmaking
the ToolKit, from the quest schematic.
Step 4a. Listen to said Master Tailor curse loudly as he wants his MDE friend to have the belt, before he makes him a
new droid.
Step 5. Watch as the Tailor logs in and out, in a desperate attempt to make one of the matched heavy clasps reappear,
since when it was placed in the schematic it dissapeared, and still hasnot reappeared.
Step 6. Verify and reverify again that everything was done absolutley correctly, then /bug and submit csr ticket, the Tailor,
not me yet.
Do I even have to say how much I paid for the two identical heavy clasps, the schematic, oh and the pre-nerf Droid Repair Tool that was also tried in the schematic before the clasp "poofed". Which btw, the tailor got the message that the pre-nerf repair tool was "too damaged to be used in this schematic". The schematic calls for a Droid Repair Tool, not a "Kit" or "Resuscitation Kit", which we now have the ability to make. I have a Droid Repair Tool, and game mechanics will NOT let me use it, and now, even if it would, I can't because the game ate one of the two clasps that I need. All I can say is /softly "ouch" over and over again. I'm a DE because I like droids, I am deeply hurt by the misrepresentation SOE gave all of us about the "Droid Invasion", and the fact that all of us go to extreme measures to make our profession work, for our satisfaction and that of our customers. Please help us TK, please.

Another thing....
TK talked about being able to call a CL10 droid and a CL10 pet at the same time... well, I can't call my CL10 lesser sludge panther out when I've got my probot out, and vice versa. My prototype 5-combat-module probot shows up as Difficulty Level 13.

it's the same with all combinations of droids/pets, no matter what the cl is
this has me madder than anything else
probot shot a vrelt with his arc welder at 79 meters... a bug perhaps? i understand the ranged attack but thats further than i could shoot as a rifleman with a laser rifle...
then he cut another vrelt in half (figurativly speaking) with his buzz saw at 60 meters...
sometimes he refuses to patrol after giving him the patrol points he responds to the patrol command with a ?
the armor came out at 20% so i tried the store and recall and now its 40%...
uh....
i like the arc welder and buzz saw animations... cant keep up with the forums but i heard it was just a blaster no matter what...
if i find any others ill post em...
I'm a holo-grinding droidsmith (22 down 10 to go).
But if anyone cares, after collecting all the resources i needed, they changed the schmatic for a mse droid.
It now takes ONLY aluminum, and not metal (so much for the vast steel I gathered).
Oh well, bought the necessary aluminum, and ground up to blueprints 2, the adv frame remains the same, so it was only the mse blueprint.
