...if I read right that DEs have nothing to do with vehicles, that is.

you need to give DEs something when you release vehicles or you're gonna lose them.

He already said a lot of fixes are going into the next publish, which is also the one that contains vehicles.

No... He cleared that up for us on his 1000th post. He's a dude, (albeit with feminist traits. -- JUST kidding.)

There are 3 fixes in the Vehicle Publish so far; 1) Probot Incap Animations, 2)Probot Damage and level changes, and 3) Multiple Crafting stations in a single droid.

We will have to see what else is added by the end of next week, whichshould be the last of the code tweaks before the vehicle patch hits lives, or so I have heard...

I agree with your post almost entirely...except where you say about balance with CH

Its not the DEI'm talking about balance with, its just one of our many products (and possible others - see your own quoted thread)

Fact is, we make Probots, and the number of my customers who say they would drop creatures in a second if only DE could provide....is absolutely endless

most players I talk to would like to switch from 'breatures' to droids..but while the bias is towards 'pets' why should they

I think we will never agree, I am not of the 'crafter only' camp and never will be

I know you are just reporting - and doing a good job too

But why are multi craft stations being implimented? Heavens it's the last thing we need. 1 per droid was the only good reason to sell a couple of droids to one customer, this is counter productive is it not?

responding to the high level droids for just d.e. that goes against the fabric of the star wars universe. droids are "programmed" to serve who ever their owner is. power level is not a factor in who a droid serves its programming is. that is why more people in the star wars universe in movies and books have more droids then creatures. creatures have their own independant intelligance, droids have intelligence and independance to what ever specific lvl their programming sets them too. take ep1 and ep2, the federation had a huge droid army programmed to serve them, and in ep2 the clone troopers were genetically altered to be more submissive and less independant. the only real diff is that droids have to be repaired by someone skilled to repair them, and pets only need wounds healed, otherwise they heal slowly like players.

one thing that can be done, since some have said lets up the anti in the galactic war, the emporer outlawed combat droids, especially assassin droids, so, everytime your combat droid kills, you lose imp faction points. this is practical and stays faithfull to the universe if you are to make imps more powerful(i know you have not said that but ive seen some people onboards say it) and bring more grief from the empire in the form of high taxes, and things like that.

and speaking of the galactic war. ive heard some people say there should be an increase in the war so we know there actually is one out there being fought. shutting down shuttleports, high taxes, etc. well, all i ever hear is usually speaking about making the imps a little better, giving them more. the rebs should get more illegal equipment that imps cant have cause well, its illegal. and heres a thought for making rebs more powerful, but also staying faithful. the issue of rank, the higher of rank, the cheaper you can buy things from with your faction points, you can have a large numbers of reb npc's to lead in the higher levels, having a limit but that limit being set by the lvl of rank you have in the reb army. but to be fair, the higher the lvl you go in the reb army, you get prices on your head that bh's can collect on. and if you reach the highest level, you can no longer be covert. or something better, in the cities, you can putup signs that are wanted posters of a sort, that display the name of high lvl rebs, and if spotted by a player, the informing player gets a small reward from the imps, and ALL the stormtroopers on the planet become hostile to you, but you do not become flagged unill you have fought with them. and it stays that way for an hour or two to simulate the imperials arelooking for you. you could add an extra bit where during this travelis affected because every ship leaving is searched, so you get to have a little wait time and run around authorized secitons of a star destroyer, kind pike the one youre on when you first start the game. adding that cool and fun lvl of frustration to the war instead of just frustration. you can either hide out somewhere in the desert for an hour or so, or you can take your chances and just try and avoid the stormtroopers for an hour or so.

Multiple crafting stations in the same droid would be a great item for some crafters that aren't able to pick up Scout, just so that they can call out another droid in the field. I can understand that the sales of multiple droids is a good idea, however being able to build a fully loaded R3 will be a high point for Master DE.

The only down fallwith having the ability to put more than one crafting station in the same droid, right now, is that the Cluster Module Exploit still exisits. Once this is removed, say hello to the new and improved Adv R2s and Adv R3s.

You should still be able to sell 5 droids to one person, if you simply point out to them that Droid Item storage has no item decay.....and that the Probots will now be the best bet for non-CH tanks. There are a lot of ways to sell a droid, its finding the right style of doing so that is the hard part.

I am very encouraged by Thunderheart's responses to the community's questions. I have always been optimistic and enjoy playing a DE, and it's only going to get a whole lot better.

The way I see DE becoming more balanced is to both make them a crafting class that contributes to others being more effective on their own (much more so than a CH, giving you a non-CH pet), but also nearly able to compete with a CH as a combat class. Like being a CH who is also a BE, or a weaponsmith who is also a commando, they get the greatest rewards in combat, but can also provide the near full service of their skills to some one willing to pay.

While most users will only have one droid, a DE (Master anyway) should have the same option of 3 droids just like a master CH has 3 pets (the skill line that includes this should require droid usage XP rather than droid crafting XP).I am master CH myself, I can tell you I rarely have more fun then the times I have my army following me into batter (3 Creatures, 3 Faction Pets, and a droid). The DE should have that same level of fun.

I don't think that a DE should be able to make Droids that only they can use, but rather they can use the same droids more effectively because they can use them in concert with eachother. I could have one heavy sheilded droid with a stunning effect go out and grab the attention of the creature I'm fighting, while my ranged weapon droid brings in the heavy hits (a drodeka comes to mind, hehe). I might also use a repair or perhaps power droid during combat to keep my other droids fighting smoothly.

The strongest droid should not be a match for the strongest creature, on it's own anyway. This has to do with the balancing of the DE being also a crafter that can sell his wares to others, while the CH is a true combat class (sure a CH can make money selling mounts and level 10 pets, but a DE will far out class the CH in that arena).

What about the possiblity of a DE mount? Just like other mounts it has the benefit of being a pet while not being ridden.

The statement that we are being "held back" because we don't want to devalue CHs again shows droids are never really going to be that great compared to pets. Anything really good they give us combat wise would devalue their favorite class, CHs.

And you don't speak for all DEs when you try to make it sound like none of us want DE only combat droids. After many days of debate the split was almost a perfect 50/50. Do not presume you speak for everyone.
