The trick that makes this not too bad is you can still use other droids while that one is out doing its thing. The droid doesn't take distance to harvesters into account when it makes its runs, but I don't think its that big of an issue. I'm not sure how many people use all 5 droids in their datapad regularly...

Came across some very good OQ/CD Copper a few weeks back and harvested about 75k before it shifted on me. Using half of it to make about 750 combat modules (104 cmr), which I'll then use to make several R3s and Probots (the first of which I should be able to make tonight).
Realistically, I don't think I'll have any droids premade using the new modules, but rather just use them in custom orders, as I try only to have commonly requested droids (surgical droids with 110 med and chem craft, and full combat droids) on the vendor.
Did the Detonation Modules get nerfed before they hit us? I just made a Power 8 Quality 11 module with Copper 975/951, Inert 981, and Reactive 592 (best I have). I saw earlier in the thread people talking about making Power 35+ modules!!
My own findings with the creature harvest droid.
I've got scout hunting 4. +45 Creature Harvest. My guild's MDE made a +31 harvestADV MSE for me. And I went Gurk hunting over my lunch break.
Harvests are listed as myself, myself w/ droid out, droid.
Gurk: 68 / 69 / --
Trakcer: 68 / -- / 69
Gatherer: 69 / -- / 69
So, it would appear to me that a +31 harvest droid doesn't give any bonus beyond being able to do the harvest while you're still shooting at gurks. I've got a +16 harvest standard MSE to try later and see if I end up getting LESS. Also, it didn't make any difference if the droid was grouped or not when it harvested.

I'd be very interested in more info on this. As it is I can get a harvest bonus of +17 per module and I'd like to know how many I'd need to stack to make it useful and without taking up all the available slots.
SOCKET and CLUSTER help
I have been making a few custom order droids and had the same problem as many other people. General socket clusters with for example 3 entertainer effects DO NOT fit into the slot for generic socket clusters in the R droids. BUT combat clusters do. Make your entertainer and other utility modules into combat capable clusters and they fit.

I was hoping the survey droids would do more, basically swg resorce.com is far more useful, gues I can't drop surveying skill :-(.
Scouting droids are cool and I want one, even if itjust goes round and collects meat while im shooting it would be a boon.
Anyone on flurry selling them 110 rating please and a probot combat droid also?
