Thread: Droid Module Focus (Structure Maintenance): Information, discussion and bug-reporting (04/24/04)
To get structures to work properly (on-world or off-world), you need to use the "Set Name" feature and assign a name for the structure for something other than do the default.
If you do this, you should be able to get off-world structure maintenance to work (I tried this earlier today on TC and it seemed to be fine).

Respectfully,
I'm loving the maintenance module because I'm one of those people who forgets to pay maintenance until i have to pay a repair fee (those who say it won't sell are probably underestimating the laziness and forgetfulness of players like me!). I do have two questions about its use, though:
1. Can two different people have the same structure added to their droids?
2. After I sent my droid out and examined it in the datapad, I noticed that battery power is at 0. I assume this is a cost of using the droid, but can you reassure me that the droid will still come back? ![]()
Thanks!
Sorry for the double post. Just wanted to say that I should have waited longer, I got the answer to #2 above, my droid did come back. ![]()
I also have something to report: I am on admin for one structure that I am purposely allowing to self-destruct. I added it to the droid for kicks, and noticed that the droid pop up shows the maintenance pool at 2cr (for some reason it's stuck at 2, even though maint has actually run out and the structure is at something like 80% decay), and does not reflect a repair cost. Because I want the structure to decay, I did not try paying on itto see if the payment went to maint or the repair cost. I do want to point this out as an issue, though, because I will primarily use this module to check up on the structures I am responsible for maintenance on (8 static structures) but do not visit often. This means that it's possible for a structure to fall into disrepair, but for me to check it from the droid and just think I was lucky to catch it with 2cr left in maintenance.

That's a good question....I put that up on the Corr. boards just now to see if TH (or any of the Corrs.) can run down an answer on this. I'll let you know, via theStructuremodule focus thread, if I see/hear anything on this.

As a Master Merchant I get a 20% reduction in maintenance fees. Has any one tested to see if after the droid has added the maintenance to the structure if the 20% reduction is still applied?
I know that if a non-merchant adds maintenance tomy structure with the 20% fee reduction the 20% reduction will dissappear. Only when a Merchant with the proper skills adds maintenance does the 20% maintenance fee reduction get added to the structure.

I know its been said already but all they have to do is allow the droid to deposit power as well as credits and THEN this module would be extremely usefull for many people. Is there a known reason why they decided to leave this out?
Adding credits isn't quite the same as adding something from your inventory like power. I suspect that they likely could do it (technically)...but they may not be ready to do so. This might well be one of those 'We can put it at the top of our list if we really want it' things, if we want...but I don't really seem them too keen on the idea.
I might, however, be able to see if I can get the to add viewing (only) the current Power level that's in the harvester/factory in question. I think that information alone would be fine. /shrug

Respectfully,
Like some others I would consider a "status" droid more effective and useful than a maintenance adding droid. Can you push for added functionality so we can get power levels, harvestor capacity, harvestor operating status. Otherwise I will still have to go to my harvestors every 2-3 days anyway and this droid is worthless and only relevant to maintaining my houses (which i keep payed for many months out anyway). Also, vendors are a big slip-up for me can we investigate getting those added as well.
I tested the Maintenance module today and YES the 20% maintenance reduction bonus from my merchant skills is indeed applied to maintenance fees payed by the droid. I have not tried to pay maintenance on a structure that has not had the reduction applied yet to see if it changes.
Good News.
Today's hotfix seems to have broken these modules.
One person reported that you couldn't admin a station (option didn't appear), I found that the struct maint rating didn't show up for clusters of these modules, and the droid resultant rating was pretty random.
I have only tested with Level 2 modules, but I have found it to be wholly reproducible for my part. Combat clusters end up with no rating.

Absolutely sure they got broken today after the hotfix
Structure maint 3 modules were working last night, and today the modules show no rating, nor does the assembled droid. Thats in and out of clusters. Sales stopped on these till resolution.

I suppose it would help if i finished reading the posts. Went back and read after making post and saw every one elses lol Sry all

I built a LE repair droid with 2 lvl 3 structure maintenance modules on the day of the publish (4/27). They worked fine when I tested it out. I did not use after the hotfix on 4/28 but did notice that the crate of lvl 3 structure maintenance had a rating of 0.
Today(4/29)I pulled out the LE with the maintenance modules and it worked just fine. I added a few mines and checked the levels on the other structures it is in charge of. I did not send ir on a run though.
I decided to build a tredwell with 2 old maintenance modules and even though they had a 0 rating the final droid had a 26 rating. I have not tested the newly builtdroid yet.
