Thread: Publish 21 Issue Thread Updated as of Version 0.128006
I've been double checking droids that I have in my datapad and newly readied droids, using my TC-Bria character, who is almost a Master CH.

Can Testers please add some info.
Do you have any Creature Handler skills at all? Perhaps Droids work for Ch people, cause thier radials are like pets, but not for other people. Even a little CH may be why we are seeing different opinions.
Well I've added in the skills of the toons using the droids... none of them have CH. To be on the safe side I made sure I tested both my DE and non DE character where I could just in case that made a difference. Oh, didn't specify before but most of these tested the same after the third login as well as multiple calls. I just cannot get most of them NOT to work.

Whats really weird is that my droid sales have never been better .. although currently only selling BH and Pilot droids. Friday alone I sold over 20 droids. Gonna have to do a spot vendor check today to make sure they didn't buy a whole type out.

Ok,
The best I can figure weather your droid will work or not does not depend so much on the age of your droid or deed, but the age of the modules you used to craft the droid.
Modules of a much older publish will work in new droid, however newer modules will not work in a droid even if it was created before publish 21.
Needless to say it is very random. If you have old componets craft with them and check the results my selection of old componets is very limited do to a large upswing in sales.
Please bug in game with make everyones life easier.

This could very well be true ... allof the droids were crafted post 21 but the modules were pre 18 in most cases .. but definitely pre 21. The entertainer effect and playback modules were crafted post 21 though so unless the standard droid parts are the main effecting element it still may not ring exactly true.
Im logging in my droid engineer as we speak so will craft another droid or two with fresh modules and see how they work. If they don't work mayhap this is the case.
Update:
Okay, crafted every module for the LE Repair Droid by hand in the last 30 minutes. Incorporated a Droid Repair Module and Auto Repair Module. Bearing in mind this is my Droid Engineer character.
Activated Deed - Auto Repair option appearing and working and Repair Droid appears in Training window
Stored and Recalled Droid - Auto Repair option appearing and working and Repair Droid appears in Training window
So looks like age of components are not a factor .. hard to trace back the resources used though. At least one was a fresh resource out of the hopper today (ran out of duralloy steel .. shock!). Any other ideas .. I'll be glad to test them if I can.

Hmm .. found a buggy droid
)
Old Probot Advanced with Combat and Harvest Modules. I think its post Publish 18 but not definite on that. Harvest option is gone. Just as well I remade a new droid for her anyway to match her new skills
)
Bugging it in game..
Also, my own Entertainer droid no longer works (Playback and Effects options no longer appear). This particular droid had been working for months.
I really feel sorry for the Devs on this one. Hard to fix something that cannot be replicated constantly. Unless one of the devs have the problem visible to them it will be hard to track down what section of code is wrong.
I can relate though .. in my last job I spent over 6 months trying to track down a bug that can be replicated only on the clients data. But could not see any reason in the code (which every customerused) that would cause the problem. But once the data was fixed the problem didn't occur. That was all I could do for that customer .. get the data in the format it should be and hope it doesn't occur again. Must have written about 5 programs to correct different data files. Sigh, the good old days.
Well in this case I will just have to feel fortunate to not have a problem. Well apart from the only 2 pre 21 droids I have. Next test will have to be to see if anything happens if a droid is bought from the vendor.
Sent a CSR ticket to explain about Auto-Repair not working. CSR-Beverly said this was NOT a known issue, and she suggested I send in a bug report.
How can we make this a known issue?? I've had customers ask me right after Publish 21 about the droid not working. I've told them to submit a ticket and a bug report. I know for a fact some have sent tickets and bug reports. I've sent in a bug report each day it hasn't worked. Just in last couple days 5 people in my guild sent in bug reports on this issue.
It seems that issues that we as players are sending in are being ignored. I recall when I sent in CSR tickets in the past concerning the bug in the combat droids a publish or two ago, the CSR responded back it was a known issue and this was the next day after the publish that borked the combat modules. This time it is different.
Any who have read this and have an issue with an Auto-Repair module(s) not working please send in a bug report. I made this droid a month or two ago and it has worked great prior to publish 21. Now it has'nt worked since publish 21.
