I would also like to say that I really empathize with your position and we have some exciting DE changes in the mixed based on your feedback from the community. The thing is, its a big chunk of information and I have to process it all. I want to address all of the professions this weekend and Im going to do so.
Things are happening. I just need to get everything together instead of saying, "its in progress". The flip side of that is, before I can give you solid information, I have to do some investgation and some learning...........
Doesn't SOE know that how this game could affect customers to other SOE games? I for one will be paying close attention to avoid buying another game with the SOE logo on it until after seeing MANY reviews.
I have to ask you all this: If you play a game, and it ends up more frustrating than even your job, why the hell are you paying SOE for this? I for one voiced my opinion the best way I could, cancelled my account.
Let me know when being a DE is fun again, because only then will I have a reason to play SWG.
TH - The Devs need torealize that featuresmust be ready to use when they are released. Don't repeat the launch day problems. No more City-like problems where 90% of people waiting for something get frustrated. There is a lot of good here, but it is up to you guys to make sure that new content is a net plus. People waiting 5 months for cities and being out of luck after 15 minutes was a horrible idea.
I get negative alot and I'll get negative tomorrow I am sure. However, there are aspects of the game that are far and away better than anything else out there:
I am constantly amazed at how real the ambient world effects are.
The skill system, especially trading in skills, works better than I could have hoped for. I was not completely sold on selling back SPs, but it lets newbies do many things, and then choose a specialty as they play.
The resource system is great and the whole crafting system is getting better all the time. It's far from perfect, but it is quite good now and normal balancing etcwill make it outstanding soon.
I play everyday. I enjoy it. Thanks.
To what avail, just to have a CH say "Get a real pet, Gimp."

I'm wondering why no one has commented on our experimentation points being jacked up to 10.
I almost wet myself...
I almost wet myself when I heard the news of Sintrosi's demise...er, I mean self termination...um, you know what I mean, mentioned in a thread on the SWG Discussion forum.
I was so upset I dropped everything and came right over here to see **edit** was going on. I haven't even had a chance to read any of the other forums I keep up on. And I think I'll just skip that for today.
I'm sure as heck glad it was only a rumor (wiping myself off).
Does anyone have an extra towel I can borrow?
YOU GO SINTROSI!
Remember that jerks name, and when he comes to any of us asking to buy a vehicle in 2005, we'll laugh in HIS face and then walk away. /ignore
It always cracks me up when people treat me like dirt, then later come back to me asking for something, andhave no clue why I act the way I do towards them, because their long-term memory is shot from playing too much GBA and watching infomercials.
OK, 'nuff of that. I really do have to go.
Keep up the great job and just let everything else wash over you like chocolate....I mean water.

Here is the reason why I finally lost it. Again it is no excuse for posting what I did, but it is the reason. Since the probot nerf I have not had more than 50k cr in my bank account. I was looking forward to mounts for so long -- and then to get slapped in the face and laughed at because I offered my 50k cr for a BABY mount not even trained .. well I lost it.
Do you have Advertising III in the Merchant Profession? It looks like the effects of owning Advertising III may be siginificantly reduced in this last patch, but before this last patch, I was frequently the only Droid Shop listed in Coronet. This was a tremendous advantage, and I got several sales a day from it, whenever I chose to list.
Now, things may be different, since all the DE shops seem to be listed now on the planetary map. I don't know because I dropped Advertising III to seek the ways of the Force, but I plan to pick it up again when I'm done.
I don't understand people who moan about cash in this game... it's easy to get credits! I do solo survey missions for an hour between two shuttleports and make 50-60k an hour.
You have nothing to apologize for Sintrosi.
For a long time you have been our voice to the Devs, you have spoken out for us and our interests till your blue in the face and beyond. It is above all things not your fault the Devs have chosen to ignore you and by doing so us. For your post I read nothing but the truth. There have been many times that the words I've wished to say would have greatly increased many a posters vocabulary and not in a good way.
Many see those in the role of Correspondent asa mouth piece for the Devs to hide behind while they go on with their pet visions of how the game should be and what's important. You are one of the Few that have adamantly stayed true to what the role of Correspondent is supposed to be, that of our voice.
Why are you apologizing? You wrote the truth about the state of the profession. Your message reflects thedesperation of those DE players that are trying very hard to find fun in this profession. That is (was) your responsibility.
I'm not surprised you are leaving. At first, Iwas so excited about becoming a droid engineer. ThenI discovered what droid engineers actually do (as opposed to what I imagined that they do). There is nothing worthwhile about the DE profession. A DE can't make anything that anybody wants or uses. DE is competing with Chef and Image Designer for worst profession. The onlyDEs that remain are those of us that desperately cling to the hope that Sony will change the situation. Not likely.I predict that DE will be a dead profession in 3 months.
To me this situation is surprising, since droids and technologyare such a big part of Star Wars. In the movies, you see droids everywhere. You see technology everywhere. There ***could*** be so many things that a DE could do. Instead of giving DEs the ability to make something useful like vehicles, we get mounts -- very anti-DE and anti-Star Wars.

Thunderheart, a word of advice, if I may?
Take the weekend off. Go hiking or something. I would prefer, and I suspect many of my colleagues would agree, that you still be eager and inspired and happy to do this stuff not just today but months and even years from now.
So don't knock yourself out too much, and don't promise us stuff on a Saturday. We're big boys and girls for the most part, and those who can't wait for a few words that don't make for an executable deliverable can just suck it up.
That being said, get to work first thing Monday Morning and tell us what the heck is going on!!!!
Droid_Engineer_Rho, I took your advice, and thanks ![]()
I was able to get in-game and I played most of the weekend. I quit for a while to go see Terminator 3 over at a friends house, but then I came home and got back in the game! I had a blast and I sat on my butt all weekend and just ran around inside the game. It's the first marathon session I played since I took a break after beta ended.
Now Im refreshed and excited to talk about a lot of things. Right off the top, I have to get all of the Profession updates to you. Im a little behind on that, but its ok,Ihave a better understanding of the details after playing for such a long stretch.

Is there an issue with the droid crafting stations that I dont know about?
Droid crafting now function only as "regular" crafting station like the ones in cities. They cannot make items over 25 Complexity.
That was fixed over the weekend. And folks, please don't assume something is "stealth nerfed". It's often a bug we need to know about...

HeyGris ![]()
Griswel, the Player Cities issue is unavoidable. A "Player City" needs to be BIG and it needs to be exciting. Ultimately, much of the friction with player cities was unavoidable. Its meant to bring people together into large cities, make those cities part of the GCW and bring politics into the game. Managing large cities is like being a rock star or a novelist. Lots of people strive for it, but only a few will make it. Its an inevitable human dynamic.
With that being said though, wechanged the "Outpost" requirements so all the groups that wanted their small outposts could have them - - I think thats a fair trade off.
As far as the rest of the stuff, this is a Droid Engineer thread and these guys need some love ![]()
I also remember that TH took suggestions for Player city buildings, like making a Protocol Droid a component for the shuttles. Did this happen?
Player Cities have just started. This is an online game and it works differently than console games. Things are always changing and evolving and player cities just started. I'm sure there will be lots of upgrades and changes, but for now, the developers are rolling out all of the planned features as promised. Mounts, Player Cities and Vehicles are being rolled out and then the focus is going back to the professions and content.
The fact is that there are lots of Droid Engineer things coming but because droids are attached to many other game systems (like AI and pathing) and it takes some serious time and attention and its not going to happen all in one day . I'll be working with Sintrosi this week to gather the details andwe'll both report back to you folks about whats going on.When critical issues arise, Ill make posts, get your input and your community efforts will make a difference, but they are not going to happen at "imaginary" speeds becausethe devsare working at making very real progress. As for the speed of the progress? Im pretty impressed. I've never seen so many people type code as fast as a secretary types up office documents.
I had promised to work through the weekend and post up all the details, but I thought Droid_Engineer_Rho was very correct. I needed to rest. I also needed to get in game and get caught up on a lot of details and I did. I'll work hard to get the rest of the details out to you on what's going on with the professions this week.
NO, just like all of the other suggestions that we made, they seem to have dissapeared, and now the crafting stations don't work worth a [edit]!
They were fixed over the weekend ![]()
I'm glad you found my advice helpful, but I fear my name shall now be dragged through the mud!
Glad you enjoyed your weekend, though :-)
Any mature adult that works for a living will not drag your name through the mud. We all know how important it is to take "breathers". Working when fried benefits nobody. I hope you enjoyed your break TH. You da man.
