I was told to move this here:
Ok these are my thoughts,
- First of all, get rid of the xp reduction, and on CH as well if they get the same affliction with their pets. It's a by-product of the old grouping system, which droids and pets should be exempt from.
- Second, All droids should be grouped into four categories: Combat, Recon, Protocal and Maintainance.
- Droid models should be restricted to these categoriesand adhere to guidelines that occur with them.
- For instance, a Probot should be classed as Recon and should NOT be useable in combat. 3-P0 units should not be useable for anything except language deciphering and vendors etc.
- More droids should be added obviously, and also the skill tree should be made to accomdate the new droid types. One branch for each category, so a DE can quickly and easily work on a single droid type if they wish.
- I would also go as far as to say players shouldn't be able to speak any more than Basic, their native language and one other. Making protocal droids that much more useful, and the game that much more exotic.
Hmm Maybe instead of Maintenance perhaps Utility. Would cover more range of non combat/recon/protocol droids.

Jenden,
Would it be possible to sticky this post? It dropped to the 2nd page.

I am a Novice SW as well as a Novice DE and the one thing that SW's do that I would like to see in the DE profession is Reverse Engineering. SW's use RE to get bits of the KSE Firespray schematic and I thought it might be good to have something similar for DE's to get limited use schematics for things like the driodeka (sp?). But in order to do that, we would need driod loot, which I have not heard of. Any idea's folks?

I'd be up for this as long as it wouldn't require DEs to buy overpriced loot drops from CL80 Bounty hunters. Here's my suggestion for an alternative:
Droidekas are already running wild across the surface of Lok. There should be some, no higher than CL30, that a DE could kill (with assistance from his CL30 combat droid). The "corpse" would a new radial menu item (in addition to "examine" and "loot") that only appears to a Master Droid Engineer. This menu item would be named "scavenge" and would provide a one-time chance (for that specific corpse) of the DE gaining a droideka component. Once the DE has scavenged enough parts, they can be used to assemble a droideka which could then be used (or sold in deed form).
To make this mini-quest worth the effort, the completed droideka would have a higher CL... perhaps a randomly calculated CL in the range of 40-50. (I'd love CL80, but I doubt the Devs would go for it and allow DEs to participate in high-level game content).

How about the BLLs? I'm an architect, and after loading a ton of components from one factory output to another's input, then after the run getting lots and lots of small crates and having to make runs back and forth to my shop, it would be nice to give a container to a BLL and have it go fill up the container with the output from a factory.

This is what I am afraid of. I have heard lots of folks asking for droid loot, which would be great, but watch what you ask for.... eerr how you ask for it. lol Take a little look at the recycler scam to see what would happen. If droid loot was added it would probably be from high level mob drops. We would never see them nor be able to afford them on our meger wages. A droideka schematic, even CL30, would be awesome, but I hope they make it where we can actually have one of our own. Even if it took a MDE to craft such a beast, most combatants would want us to do it for free or for little of nothing. I love the idea ofonly a MDEbeing able to 'scavenge' a corpse for parts to build one. Just hope they make it where we can kill the corpse to scavenge it.
I still think the jawa fortress would be an excellent place to add in new DE content and quests. Give us enough stuff to make all the other crafting professions cry. lol Make us the best crafting profession... for once... just for a little while at least?!?!?! THEN they can add stuff for the other professions! lol
