IF YOU HAVN'T VOTED PLEASE DO SO!!

Bah, my vote is B, for combat droids. I still think the poll is a mess and we should re-do it.

Ok...back on topic...

I personally think that B isthe number 1 priority, followed closely by C. (Even though as I pointed out earlier, A -E would be considered intertwined with each step)

Decay is a tricky thing. If we make it as invasive as we need it to be, to create a re-occuring market, we are likely to turn away as many droid users as we regain in continued sales. If Decay is on the same scale as it is with Vehicles and Structures, then we won't see much return at all. The topic of Decay has an almost a 'silver bullet' quality to it. I don't think it will fix as much as people hope that it will. I believe that our biggest problem isn't the lack of decay, but rather the lack of being able to targeting the largest potential sales market. Combat.

Our current combat droids are great for those with little and no combat skill. Droids dominate the medical and crafting markets, yet both markets pale incomparison to the untapped combat market. Most combat types have already stated that if they were given the ability to control a Droideka or Super Battle Droid, even if it was no better then our current combat droids, they would buy one at least for the 'coolness' factor of having one. Much like Tailor offered goods, the Droid market is made up of more 'coolness' factor then it is made up of function. Melding the two would be best for our profession, in my opinion.

And just to stress the point, this is my personal opinion and in no means is to be taken as whatI represent to the DEVs, without backing of the community. I am Correspondent, but I still have my own personal opinions that I state as a memeber of this community. The communities wishes will aways come before my own.

I agree with your personal opinion on this. My points exactly! And trust that you will represent the views of the community in a fair and balanced way (not as in Fox News, fair and balanced for real).

Aye....that it is. The 'trick' to it would be to ensure that any new Decay system's inconvienences were ultimately less than the inconvienence of not using the droid at all.

We're on the same page here. As I've mentioned, with little "need" for a droid, the added inconvenience and expense of having to replace the droid may be a bar to sales to begin with. Nor properly implented, decay could lead to less initial sales an no re-sales.

Combat on the other hand has the expectation of decay.

Due to all the discussion about the validity of this poll, I'm going to avoid answering it, but I do have one question:

Assuming it's not on the table right now, why aren't they including combat droids as part of the combat upgrade? The biggest concern for the devs and community before the switch to utility modules was how the addition of high-level droid pets would be handled, balance-wise. This combat upgrade is a big reworking of the system, so why not make room for high-level droids to play a part in it?

I never agreed that there should be a droid commander profession, but if there were a DC skillset, I'd like it to be structured more like the pilot professions are. Anyone can learn it without skill points, but it needs to be earned through a series of missons or quests that upgrade your ability to command the droids. It doesn't even need to be a full skillset, maybe a line or two with +cl of the droid each level, and maybe some new commands or +# of droids. This does sound rather big, but they could leave room in the system, balance-wise, for this future addition, and add it on later, after the non-combat upgrade.

Oh well, we'll never know unless it's heading for the test center. Thanks whiners for making them close the windows to our possible future.

Let's try to get back onto the poll if we can, lots of other threads we can debate on.

However, the reason High Level droids are not being added in the CURB is simply because there is already way to much being done. The scope of the CURB is huge, affecting much of the current game, without adding extra stuff.

We have no real reason to believe that Droid Decay or any other big droid changes are coming for us anytime soon.

However, we are trying to find what our collective community priority is so that we can put together a plan to present. When or if that was implemented, nobody knows.

Thank you, and I agree that we won't see any major, intentionalchanges for some time.

I will pick Droid Decay as the top item (bug fixes, as always should not be forgotten), but could somebody at least ask the question before we spend 2 months discussing it to death?

this is an issue outside of the DC/DH these would be things like wpn powerups in effects but used either as consumables or droid modules....or both.

Actually, I think that powerups could be a part of the DC profession, to make it a distinict difference between it and the CH profession.

One of the stand alone Project DE threads, that I have been lagging on, that would list my personal ideas for a possible incarnation of the DC profession. It would utilize Combat specific commands that can be programmed into combat droids, that are capable, Droid Powerups and a few other little odds and ends that I am still working on putting together.

The profession would be a bit of a hybrid profession and would have a certain amount of non-driod crafting, but would primarily be a combat character. (Think more along the lines of Smuggler)

And Straker is 100% correct in what he has stated about the Sandbox people fighting for Droid rights. Between Straker, Jenden, JavelinCatcher, GnomeAd, psikobuny, TK and myself, I think we have a very solid team of Droid Engineers that will fight for Droid Engineers everywhere. We aren't named Super Mega Fighting Droid Team Go! for nothing. (don't ask)
