Well, you learn something new every day. I guess I never tried factional support troops on non-factional missions when testing theGCW revamp. I guess I"ll crawl back under my rock now.

Your AT-ST will also only attack factional targets now (or at least it should). AT-ST's also are not repairable, droids are. Droids *can* be practically given away....AT-ST's arn't (I will admit, I don't know the faction point cost of them at the moment since the new rules went in). Even then, AT-ST's have been argued as a "unfair advantage" in some circles.
Comparing a droid to a AT-ST is a apples -> oranges comparison.

Don't know if this is qualified as an issue, but I think it would help many DEs if they were able to use experimentation to build better and better droids.
On the other perhaps droid engineers are happy about the present experimentation level?

I think that this is an awesome idea in general, but I think that there needs to be a way to make chassis-specific variations of the name to keep in line with the SWU.
Not sure if you have seen the sneak preview of RotS action figures, but R4-G9 doesn't like any R4 unit I have ever built. ![]()
It has a rounded dome, that is gold in color, with bronze trim. It looks much more like an R2 unit, then it does anything else.
The more work that gets done on the prequals, the more ol' Lucas Films goes against standardized canon information. ![]()
None the less, I still have one of these little gems sitting on top of my monitor at home. With all of the Droid action figures that my girlfriend has bought for me in the last two years, I will soon need a bigger monitor to stand them on top of.

- Droid Need/Usefulness: Droids, on the other hand, are a convenience and possibly a small bonus, but never really a necessity.
They are often an annoyance:
They cant keep up with people on speeders or mounts. Many models cant even keep up with people on foot (like LE repair driod which can barely keep up with a rifleman crawling).
They cant be called if you get agro from any source.
They take a long time to call when not in city or camp even when you dont have agro(15 seconds its an eternity when people are waiting on you)
They cant be stored if you (or they) have agro from any source, and they cant be stored for 60 seconds after they clear agro. In fact, if you die and your droid catches agro AFTER you have cloned, you still cant store or call it until it dies.
They often get stuckin strange placeswhen following you.
- Of course all these are issues which all pet types have which makes them difficult to use if your not running solo.

I'm putting together a proposal for droid decay as thats the only way I can think of to solve our number 1 issue. If you have a proposal for some other system that solves that problem please post it as well. The more ideas to discuss the better.
Okay, so you posted just 4 minutes after YodaMac, and therefore *maybe* didn't read his post....... specifically:
------------------------------------------------
"I HAVE proposed a "speeder-like" maintenance requirement to bring "droid upkeep" into the game. Those who use them most, pay the most to keep them working. (whether they pay the "bank" or DE's for some sort of "maintenance kit", I don't really care... I'm not a DE to make credits, just droids)"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
While making credits does keep the business going, I agree with YodaMac here, a maintenance requirement versus outright Droid Decay.

On a side note that just popped into mind when reading the list again...droid decay is a great way for us to get repeat customers for those who like to use their droids. But on the other edge of the sword, do you guys feel there is enough value in having a droid for people to want to hassle with a decay system? Will it end up being cheaper and more efficient for them to ignore droids completely? Something to consider perhaps.
Jenden,
since CU there's no more composite armour segments - what do we do about droid armour, the schematics still want a comp armour segment. do we use an assault armour segment instead ? Or is droid armour now completely useless ?

Working on getting an answer to this. Currently droid armor is not affecting the droid at all, so the fact that we can't make 5 and 6 is something of a moot point.
