I do think that DE's are being too soft to the DEVS on the issue, I KNOW we are very calm and quiet compared to the other professions, well, I am a DE on Scyllia, I do custom orders, I Advertise CONSTANTLY and at every opportunity..
I HAVENT GOTTEN AN ORDER IN A MONTH
it may be my fault, it may not, whatever it is, Its a problem. I am approached daily with questions about droids, questions about things people should KNOW ABOUT. I do not like losing orders to people because I tell them that I cant make their order cause of a bug. And I am above lying to them.

So what? Im getting by still, barely. I only need two more boxes in surveying to master, its been that way for over 4 months, I dont know how do grind that, and I just dont care anymore about surveying, But it is a pain trying to make droids and I run out of crates of MA components. The DEVS have said they would look into the unusually high dependence on MA, yet they seemingly MADE THIS ISSUE WORSE WITH JTL
DE IS NOT GETTING THE ATTENTION THEY DESERVE
The DEVS say this, The DEVS say that, well, after publish 8, do you see anything DE related the DEVS say come true?
DEs will play a big part in JTL
When did this happen? I have already set up more vendors and starting to crank out JTL droids/FC's, ETC. Im going to wait a week or so and see if I get any requests for JTL droid stuff, If I do, I may be wrong, If I dont, this may prove my point.
We are aware of this issue, and will look into it shortly
how many times have you heard this from a DEV/Corespondent? Id like them to define "shortly" when it comes to DE bugs, one month? FIVE months? A YEAR? A YEAR AND A HALF!?
I know you may disagree with my rant, but I am not satisfied with the state of the DE profession. You may ask "If you dont like it! do something else!" I wont. Why? I love this profession. I started DE back in march because I liked DE, what it offered, but I didnt know that it was one of the professions thats left in the dark when it comes to bugs. I know that the DEVS CAN FIX MANY OF OUR BUGS QUICKLY AND EASILY AND THEY MORE THAN LIKELY KNOW IT.
THE FUTURE
The guy who started this thread is right, DEs are optimists, I am no exception, Hopefully JTL will make Non-De's See the light and bring our numerous bugs and issues to their attention, especially if they conflict with their gameplay, and they will. Hopefully if enough non-de's bring our bugs to their attention, We may get some bufixes sooner than the CR, but its not likely. As I am assuming people are that way, they arent. They will find away around our issues and ignore us best they can.

there is no doubt that complacency is hurting us...i dont think pricing and styles of play is the issue sure some of us spend 40 hours a week making best droids we can and others 10 hours a week and not always the best...point is this an AS/WS/chef could do 10 hours making so so and come out with more creds and happier customers as droids arent needed really in game (other then BH...). So these debates on industrialist vs dabbler arent what the issue is...issues are:
1: Lack of SoE supporting info on droids
2: Lack of droid interdependce in other professions
3: Lack of repeat business as there is no droid decay
4: Now with jtl even more problems with item 1
5: also jtl related-FC's lack of any needed quals or resources will mean no matter what server your on sooner or later someone will sell 10cpu for them...
and of course the fact that the devs have left DE in this state so long (items 1 thru 3)....guys dont get bogged down in operation styles these issues being fixed would make us all happier better DE's.

I can relate (sorry if I missed stuff I had to skim the last 2 pages due to time - I'm at work!) but I dont think its just a DE thing.
I was personally very suprised to see that Shipwrightdoesnt appear toneed parts from Weaponsmith (for the guns), Armoursmith (for the armour) and Master Artisan (for general electronics stuff) and I was very suprised to see that more wasnt done with 'repair' droids on ships (specifically binding them to the maint section on the multiplayer ships) and just degrading Astromechs and FCsto being slighly more technical 'buffs' (which is what I see them as).
I was also expecting to see more ships with droid sockets than what we have ended up with as well as seeing some parallel to the established droid brain capacities (R5 = 1 jump, R2 = 10 jumps etc).
Finally, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I _always_ envisioned droids to use a similar decay system to the one implimented for ships i.e. the components decay (based on build quality)and can be replaced/upgradedbut the chassis remains a constant.

I have+57 R3 Bombs on my vender, go look.I also special order 58's.
109 Harvesters are special order, 107 is just fine for those who are just Master Scouts.
Resources on a public vender are fair game to anyone that wants to buy them, I never offered to sell the Gas to you, I just sent you a waypoint. I have over800k of it still.If you want to buy more I can tell you where there is some.
I do not sell droids on CPU, I do not know where you got that idea.
As far as getting SOE to change droids so they decay, it will happen about the same time they add decay in for Architects. If you ever bought a house or a tent you should be ashamed of yourself for not supporting your local Architect becasue it will never decay and you do not need to buy a new one. You should have paidmore than youdid for those items. Small house 50K, BER 13 Harvester should cost you 500K. But you can get them for less than 10k and 120k.

Well this isn't the time or place for personal feuds, it's not what this thread is about.
If you actually had read what I have posted you would see that I do support better Architect and Tailor decay as well. Those professions need work as well. Arch items do decay if people do not pay their maint, which is at least something.
This post isn't about getting paid more or less. This post is about them building a whole new Droid system in JTL, yet at the same time repeating EXACTLY the same flaws they had in the DE system from before.
Economically it is about the fact that ANY profession (to include Tailor, DE's, Archs, and Entertainers,) that is pushed into a low income role keeps getting deeper and deeper into a hole. It doesn't matter if you make PROFIT, anybody can make a profit. It's profit compared to everybody else. With 100+ million free mission credits coming in every day, the value of the credit drops and drops.
We can wait for love for the weaker professions, but when it comes, will it be to late?

Once again how can we get the devs attn really? or even know that if we have it they will be sincere? it is a tough road to walk, id love to see these problems fixed but using an 8 ball toy seems to get about a good an answer as when we ussually get answers from the devs...(especially in regards to making droids a necessity in SWG).
