Thread: Are droid engineers really jerks

As a _player_ (a marksman), I don't know anything about droids apart from the fact that they exist. (Ok, I've read the forum so *I* know a bit about them...)
What I do know is, that as a player I got an immense amount of satisfaction when I got my first droid.
You read that right - "first". I will definatly be coming back for more, probably from the same DE who made the droid (MSE Adv, with L6 Med and general storage).
I paid 2000 credits for this, and even though it already has the best medical module you can get, I'm definatly aiming for another droid (or 2).
I think one of the mistakes you people are making, isn't so much the pricing, its putting all the useful modules into one droid. If you make a point of only putting certain modules into certian droids, you instantly have a market for other droids...
Try this:
MSE Droid: Med Level 5 and General Storage
MSE ADV:
...
Try this:
MSE: Medical Lvl 4 + General Storage
MSE ADV: Medical Lvl 4 + General Storage
R4: General Storage + General Crafting Station
R4 Adv: General Storage + General Crafting + Med Lvl 4
R3: Data Storage + Crafting (Not food/chem and not general)
R3 Adv: Data + Crafting + Med Lvl 4
R2: Data + General + Food/Chem Crafting
R2 Adv: Data + General + Food/Chem Crafting + Med Lvl 4
Surgical: Med Lvl 5 + General Storage
Surgical Adv: Med Lvl 6 + General Storage
You get the picture - As the droid complexity goes up, so should the number of components you put in it, regardless of the number you can actually put in. Whatever you do, you shouldn't be putting max level modules (esp medical) into an MSE droid.
Ok, some of you will have noticed that I bought an MSE Adv with medical 6, but the DE was willing to make that for me. Yes, I can heal well and store spare stims, but I can't craft them...
You, as vendors, need to give us (as players) more reason to own more than one droid.
If I could heal with a Surgical droid, but needed an R2 to make stims, then you'd instantly sell me 2 droids...
Just my thoughts - one day I'm going to go for DE as well...

I wont make anything less than an R4, period. Unless it is for a very close friend.
5k seems perfectly reasonable, considering the level of use it will have.
People don't give themselves enough credit. Everyone tries to come up with this formula on how "3 credits per resource" and weird stuff like that. Take a look at yourself for a minute!
If you are making droids, it's almost required that you become a Master Artisan, and to make a droid that is remotely useful, you had to sit grind MSE droids for hours on end. Think of all the other things that take huge amounts of time and credits: surveying, either placing and maintaining a harvester of good materials or sampling for them yourself, experimenting on your product to make them the best (doesn't apply to DE's much now, but, probably will at somepoint, but it applied to other crafting skills), manufacturing items in a factory for which you get little to no XP, have to power it somehow, and have to wait hours before they have been completed. Come on now...how much is time worth in this game?
I think people are losing focus on who they are as characters in the game: crafters work hard and have worked hard to get to the point to make good products.
I just have to say, give yourself some credit here, you can't base your prices on the idea that "it's a product that requires X amount of resources," if it takes you alot of work to make it, make your customers pay and respect that fact.
Yeah, but imsure all the other DE's are cool. Who wants to buy from a jerk? lol
