Well, the direction this is going is not good. I will probably be around to see how this profession downgrade is like. Unfortunately it will force me to either drop all my combat (CL60) or my MDE. A choice I am not really willing to make and this is why I already dislike this new game.

I love DE and I have not touched my DE skill boxes no matter how often I died when beeing in a group out to hunt or do quest. I love the felxible system we currently have with the professions the same way I like the complexity of DE. The flexible and complext profession system will soon be history and what comes next?

Weapons are already down to two stats (damage and range), I fear it is only a matter of time till we put too lumps of metal together and have an R Unit.

Sorry guys, I don't think I have ever before posted that negative here, but the news of this NGE made me really sad.

I think we all share your pain. Your right we should not have to chose between our crafting ablitys or combat. I just want to say to the producer if we wanted a FPS we would have bought Battlefront 2 that is why I got this game because it was different from the rest.

I don't want to be a Shipwright. It's that simple. I've been a MDE/MArch since i finished grinding my first toon. Now I'm told that if I want to be a DE I cannot also be a Arch...but I can be a SW??? Where is the logic in this. Going further, keeping in mind that every trader gets Master Artisan/Master Merchant:

In the same vein it bothers me that people that don't care about droids will be making them. I was always a good feeling seeing a DE; I knew they loved droids - they weren't in it for the money, they weren't in it to be cool; they were in it for the droids. I suppose it is really minor and petty of me but I don't want to be in competition with people that don't care about what they are crafting.

Well, just because they can craft droids doesn't mean they will ? What with all the components etc they may decide to just concentrate on the items they want to make.

As to an earlier question. Architect comes with Shipwright and Droid Engineer comes with some weapons. And theres mention of modification so whether they have added something to engineer to make alterations after creation possible who knows.

I am very disappointed in the changes in the game. My main toon, Freud, has been a Master Artisan, Master DE, Master Architect for over 18 months. He has only those 3 badges and over 600 days in game.

I chose Drids because of the complexity of the profession and Architect because the product demand was there. I have totally enjoyed both professions. Now I must chose one or the other and can no longer craft the way I want to.

I dont know what I am going to do, I will give NGE a fair chance. I fear that the DE's will be severly limited just because the profit margins are not there to really sustain this profession. Every DE I know has another crafting profession just to turn a profit and make crafting worthwhile.

Damn - now what to do with all those Advanced R3 chassis I ran in the factory a few weeks ago.
