Repost from a Naritus tester for those of you who need data points:

-------------------------

Here is my first report using a 104 droid. I'm a Novice Scout (harvesting rating 15 %) and Novice Marksman, mainly a crafter, but I'm giving this a go.

Since I was hunting alone I could only go after easy kills, so I headed to Coronet and a Corellian Butterfly spawn.

With no droid and no veghash, I got 6 hides from a butterfly.

With the droid and no veghash, I got 8 hides.

With no droid and +16.8 veghash, I got 7 hides.

With the droid and +16.8 veghash, I got 9 hides.

So, the amount of skill does affect the bonus. However, I can't tell how much bonus I'll really get until I group with someone hunting rancors for example. Hopefully since the droid is voice controlled I'll be able to stay on my bike for an easy escape in case I happen to attract any aggro. Droids like this seem eminently suitable for tag-alongs on hide or meat hunts.

..I ask because I finaly made some modules with practically the best resources that have ever spawned on Bria and I can only come up with an 18 harvest rating (though I am hoping there is some large % over 18 that will come up when I cluster them).

Has anyone been able to make a 19 or 20? If so, what resources (and stats) did you use?

My 18 was with:

Eweodehi Polysteel Copper: 1000CD/990OQ

Obiate Steel: 605CD/981OQ

Inert Gas:

I am sure that the CD of the steel is holding down the final experimentation % (at 88 for me), but this seems really lame. A Combat module reaches 100 well before you get to 99% experimentation and it seems that a harvest module should be following suit. When I am spending three times (or in this case much more) on a harvest droid versus a 99% combat droid, I should get better than 88%.

If I am doing somethingtotally screwy with regards to my steel usage, please let me know,

Opps, the gas I used was: Gika (Obah Inert) 969OQ

Ok. Here is an update on the data I've found so far If you want all the raw data lemme know and I'll give it to you.

Number of Points: 15

Equation:

f(x) = 0.1426*ln(x) + 1.0766

Where:
f(x): The Amt that the droid harvests divided by the amount that player harvests
x: The Droids Harvest Stat divided by the players Creature Harvesting stat.

And it looks like we're getting close to what we're looking for since 0.1426 is roughly 1/7 and 1.0766 is obviously some sort of rational number.

Edit: Forgot that last bit.

There are a few things that will have to change if I'm going to buy a harvesting droid, or recommend it .

  1. Loot Option. This alone would cause me to not buy one. I can walk up, loot and harvest in a single key with a macro.
  2. harvest of all qualifying bodies in range. Currently, you have to choose the body and tell it to harvest and wait till the harvest is done. I can walk up and /loot all;/harvest bone in rapid succession much faster (the commands que up as well).

  3. I got an R3 FULL of modules. I am NOT seeing this much ballihoo'ed increase in harvest.

I would like to see Auto-harvest(harvest as the bodies fall): a team of hunters with droids would not have to worry about timing harvests so that some folks don't get missed due to the 30-second corpse rot rule. If the body falls the "droid army" goes in automatically harvesting. This would be a great boon to professional hunting parties, especially if the loot option is enabled.

Just bought and used "my little bugger" for a few harvests and I have a few comments:

1. It needs to go faster than a speeder... preferably as fast as a swoop. It's annoying and ineffecient to constantly store and recall.

1. Loot option would make this droid viable. As it stantds now, the 105% increase is not worth it (see #2).

2. Waiting is tedious; sometimes you may miss harvesting a corpse because I'm melee and the corpses fall right on top of one another. Also, the 105% benefit can be outmatched if you miss a droid harvest corpse and you did it the old /macro way. note: droid harvesting while aggroed is a nice feature, however.

3. The increase is not much especially in leu of "missing a droid harvest," I'm less likely to miss a harvest if i /macro it myself and that one that i didn't miss makes up for the little percentage i get from the previous harvests... (depends on amount of corpses), but you get the idea.

how are you more likely to miss the corpse with the droid than by hand? the macro is identical, if you missed it with the droid you'd miss it by hand.

exactly. you can use the same macro for both, just change theline in the macro that tells your character to harvest and replace with the line that orders the droid to harvest.

In any case, the lack of a loot option is a drawback, especialy if you are fighting creatures that tend to drop good loot. I also agree it would be nice if the droid could keep up with the speeder, but 15 seconds isn't that long either.

Because you have to WAIT for the droid to harvest one corpse before it goes on to the next( the commands to harvest don't que, but they cure for you -- time is the biggest factor; yes, 15 seconds is a long time when yougot buffs, foods,(and what idf you get aggroed, which happens frequently in adventure planets) etc. in the equation. This includes traveling time for the droid, especially if the X's (corpses) are all over the place. Imovefaster than the droid and I got nov scout 0/0/4/0. Just see several flaws with the droid for just an extra small percentage of benefit.
