I also have to add that ALL elite crafting professions should get an elite crafting profession only item. Be it a quest item or some powerful or cool specialty item, masters should get something cool that only they can make and use.
6) Agree
Your points are horribly leading. You've basically designed them to ensure that everyone agrees with you and that the end result will be DE-only combat droids (specifically, the Droideka). Really not a valid poll at all because it's not neutral.
1) agree.
2) agree.
3) agree, provided that the game balancing limit imposed does not turn Droid Engineers into a combat class. Translation:no DE-only combat droids.
4) ambivalent. Personally, I think that EVERYONE should be able to use every droid we can make, but that only some people should be able to use more than one at a time.
5) disagree. There are much better ways to make the Droid Engineer profession "cool" than turning us into a combat class, which is exactly what DE-specific combat droids would do. Just look at Creature Handler if you want proof.
6) disagree. The Droideka is a lightning rod for emotional reactions that is in no way necessary. SWG is not based in Episode 1, it is based in Episode 5. Droidekas are no longer mass produced, which is EXACTLY what would happen if they were added to the game. The existence of NPC Droidekas is NOT a valid counter-argument, because NPC Droidekas are controlled (and limited) by the game engine.

1. No one wants DE-only combat droids to be the ONLYnew droids we get. Likewise, few like the idea of combat modules for non-combat droids like Protocol Droids ("I'm programmed for etiquette, not combat" -- C3P0, Ep2.)
Agreed. As an artisan profession, my entire job is to run a business... I really don't care much for the idea of DE-only <insert droid here>... It'd be a cool "badge" to have, but I'm more interested in giving the public more droids.
2. Majority want new combat droids that we can sell
Indifferent... I want new droids to sell, reguardless of "type" or "classification." I'd be just ashappy getting 10 new non-combat droids to sell, personally.
3. Majority believe there should be some sort ofgame balancing limit on new and powerful droids with certs being the most common --but not the only --solution proposed. The recent CH/creature nerf suggests that the devs are leaning toward certs for game balance so we might as well warm up to the idea, or suggest a reasonable alternative. Some have suggested certs, others have suggested pet levels points spread out in the DE skilltree and a few have suggest a Droid Handler profession.
If you're going to put more, real combat droids in the game, something needs to be done... Personally, I wouldn't mind having several combat droids out at the same time, with the HAM and attack of "faction pets." Just think it'd be fun to run around with my multiple droid "army."
4. Majority believe we should be able to use all the droids that we can make
Not sure how exactly you mean this.. Everyone that disagrees with this, seems to be leaning towards the "It's a medic droid, I'm not a medic... No" idea... If you mean DE's should be able to control any droid chassis we can make, I agree completely.
5. In ADDITION to the droids in Point #4, many, but not all, want DE-only combat droids that are "cool" or "special" as a badge of our Droid Engineer-ness. Some believe these should be as powerful as the best CH pet, others believe they should just have a special look or chasis, others believe they should have slightly better stats. (My proposal is Droidekas that we can sell, and Droideka AvdancedMaster DE-onlymodels that are moderately better, perhaps with shield generators). Many don't like the idea of a separate chassis or a Super Uber Droid for fear of DE dabblers;others, in turn, question those who prefer to keep DEnumbersdown.Soem fear that a DE-only chassis will upset customers. And, finally,a few insist that Droid Engineers only have access to the droids everyone else can use.
Indifferent. Would be a nice thing to have... DE's have a long, hard road to mastery, with little reward... I wouldn't cry if we didn't get one.
6. Give us Droidekas somehow!!!
Indifferent. Any droid we could manufacture and sell (that the public would want to buy) I'd like... Droidekas? Sure... RIC-920's? Sure(would be awesome with the vehicle expansion)... SP-4's, WA-7's... I'll take 'em all!
If noone minds, I'd like to add a 7 to this (Feel free to respond or not).
7. Fix all the droid bugs, and work on reasonable "wishlist" items before adding new buggy content. (Customization, anyone?
)

Thanks so much for all the responses! This is great! See, I figured we had more agreement than might appear from the debate postings. Some folks seem to have softened their stance or at least stated which items thet disagree on, but don't truly care that much about.
Clarification: This posting is about combat droids not others; since that issue was the subject of much debate of late and ostensibly lots of DE community fragmentation. That said, for #4 I did not mean to suggest that Non-BHs would able BH droids, etc.
Other suggestions are welcome -- like the number of folks interested in multiple combat droids as opposed to only one.
Attention Thunderheart: We are not as divided as you might think!
Please encourage your friends to vote here and after a while I'll summarize the results, though clear patterns are already emerging as you can see from the replies.
Thanks again. Hopefully, we can sway the Dev's implementation of DE changes with our voices, even if some of them are raised in dissent.

3)Agree withconcernsI do not want to have to be a prat of some stupid group just to be able to play the game!! Anything they dowhich limits my ability to play the game redues the time i will play the game!!
4) Agree!!!
5) Agree!!! I have a lot of skill points tied up in this profession just so that i can make my combat droids, in addition i have spent huge amounts of resources training to get to Master Droid Engineer, And droid require alot resources to build. Metal is stronger than meat! Cars are faster than any animal, sharp pointed metal spears driven by a machine dose a heck of alot more damge than claws and theeth!! Master Droid Engineer Crafted Combat droids should be stronger, faster, more damageing than any Critter!!
6) Agree only if they aren't more Nerf-bots!!!
** Agree
1.1 Likewise, few like the idea of combat modules for non-combat droids like Protocol Droids
** Disagree. I don't see a problem with combat modules in droids, except that they have to restrict what modules and levels certain droids can have. They should be in addition (not as part of) the existing specifications, i.e. Adv. R4s shouldn't be able to hold 3 combat modules (not counting the Clusters here). C3P0 wasn't programmed for combat, that doesn't mean other protocols droid weren't.
2. Majority want new combat droids that we can sell
** Disagree. I think the probot is just fine, I want more utility droids and modules to sell.
3. Majority believe there should be some sort of game balancing limit on new and powerful droids with certs being the most common -- but not the only -- solution proposed.
** Conditional agree. *If* they decide to add more powerful combat droids *Then* I agree with the cert system. But I still say I don't want any more combat droids.
4. Majority believe we should be able to use all the droids that we can make
** Disagree. I don't know how to use medic droids, yet I can make them.
5. In ADDITION to the droids in Point #4, many, but not all, want DE-only combat droids that are "cool" or "special" as a badge of our Droid Engineer-ness
** Disagree. We are the only ones who can make droids, that's what's special about us.
6. Give us Droidekas somehow!!!
** Disagree. See above
1.) Agree
2.) Agree
3.) Agree
4.) Agree
5.) Disagree, but those who have aquired DE skills or mastered it, should have special features or options in controlling droids or specific modules, but not DE-only combat droids. All droids should be accessible to every professions, within the limits of their certification and profession.
6.) Disagree, cause this needs to be properly planned out before implementing such an overpowering combat force. First, certification . . . then combat droids, so it doesn't get out of hand such as it has done with the creatures.
#1) Holy crap, do I agree. While I don't object to having a tank or two on our side, to my mind the factional pets and the CH pets have that locked down pretty tight. I'd rather move in a different direction with several more functional and useful non-combat droids. I hope the devs get the emphasis there.
#2) Eh.. it'd be nice, but I'm not losing sleep over it.
#3) I don't know that I like the idea of certs, because it would keep people from being able to use small droids all the way down to the MSE droids. I'll go so far as to say that I would support certs for combat droids, but I feel the non-combatant droids should be usable by anyone.
#4) **edit** right. 100% in agreement. If I make it, I want to be able to use it.
#5) I am still working my way up in DE and I don't see how in the hell one could possibly "dabble" in an elite profession. It takes a butt ton of both time and resources to get your way up that tree. To my mind, if someone is willing to burn the hundreds of thousands of resources and the hours it takes to get to MDE, then they're not a dabbler... they earned it. The "special" Droids should require two level four DE skills to make. I don't think that's unreasonable.
#6) Eh.. not so worried about droidekas.

1. Agree
2. Agree
3. Disagree. I don't see droids, for people other than DEs becoming a game balance problem. I certainly think they should consider balance when they design new droids to add so that they don't introduce something that does cause this problem, but I don't think people outside DE should have to qualify to use droids we sell them. For DEs themselves, I certainly believe the skill tree should control what we can handle (i.e. multiple droids out as we advance in level, control of more powerful droids as we advance through the skill tree, very similar to how CHs are now set up).
4. Agree, I think. I can't say I've heard of a counter example. Unless you mean all the droids we make should be useful to us. I don't think a droid designed to expand another class should grant us any special cross-class skills unless we buy them in the normal fashion (i.e. Med droids enable medics to heal away from the hospital; I don't see why we can't "use" this droid, but I don't see why it would allow us to heal or be healed without a medic around)
5. Agree. I want DE only droids, though I don't think they should match up combat wise against the biggest of CH pets and I think control of these should be tied to the skill tree. But I would like to see something cool, formidable, and unique.
6. Agree. I think this plays right into point #5.
1. Agree
2. Agree if it is not nerfed a few days after its release.
3. Disagree. The devs couldn't find their nose if they were locked in a dark closet, with a flashlight.
4. Agree
5. Disagree
6. Disagree Why get our hopes up if you are only going to step on my face. A Destroyer Droid with the same same stats as a Probot is still ineffective as the Probot. And correct me if I am wrong but aren't the Probots at CL12?
1. Agree
2. Agree
3. Agree
- Caveat: Certification is probably a complex implementation and will likely delay combat droid introduction. Alternative: In order to give the DE community a boost I suggest temporary solution of un-nerfing current probot.
4. Agree
5. Agree to MDE only droid with slightly higher stats. Definitely not looking to match UberMCH pets
6. Agree to Droideka
- Caveat: New chassis will equal delay to implementation. Alternative has been suggested to make Probot versions 1 - thru 4 as a temporary and easy to dostopgap to get our profession up and running. Nerfing Probot was easy, so logicallu un-nerfing Probot and copying schematics to create 4 of varying power must be the quick and easy temporary solution solution.Actually I like the idea that 2 combatants with Probots dont necessarily know who has what model, the differences needent be apparent in HAM alone (diff weapon/diff armour etc)
Lets get the show on the road!
Has anyone noticed that what we know as the "Probot" is actually an Arakyd Probe Droid and there is no entry called "Probot" that can be found in the StarWars Universe (standard or extended)?
Totally off topic, but here's as good a place as any.
