See I realize what you are saying that this hurts your Seeker Sales.

Yes it does. But also what 85% of my original post said is, you are out of luck. Im not the one doing it. But someone is going to. So you are either just going to have to accept it. Or gripe about it to people who aren't and don't have to listen to you.

And this is just a bird in the hand situation. If you have something for 1000 and the guy next to you has something for 500 and they are identical items and you just stand side by side and 100 people are standing in line waiting to buy one which do you think they are going to buy? yours or his? How much money is going to be in your pocket at the end of the day?And how much is going to be in his? Yes his profit marginis less than yours, but he has a profit. Now let's say he's getting all this business, do you think he'll stay at 500? No, he'll move up to 700 maybe 750. And you will still be standing there with your item that's worth 1000 to you, but nothing to anyone else.

Sure you could maybe drop your price to match his and actually make a go of it. And no I'm not suggesting taking a loss that would be stupid. I'm just saying sell it for what you can get for it, go to the buyer don't make him come to you.Or maybe bring out something that's better than his and see if they'll pay the extra for it. I'm sure they will. When the new model comes out thepeople will know it's a new model and will pay the according price. But it's just simple economics the cheaper product of equal quality will always be the one to sell. That's how it does work in the real world. And yes it does hurt to have a guy selling something at a bare bones price but it does happen. But in the real world what can they do about it? Nothing, or try to compete, it's up to you how you deal with it. But telling people to change how they do things is not an answer. It will not work, as much as you try to cram it down thier throats they are not going to stop making cheap sales to make you or others happy. They are going to do what they want to do and that's really all there is to it.

Also I'm sorry you have no respect for me, but thankyou for getting my name right this time.

Love,

The Brown Dandy

Dandy,

Yes, I will gripe about people with so little business knowledge ruining the market for others because they are to moronic to understand their sales are interlinked with other DE sales. These fools selling seekers at 250 creds per couldnt see the sun on a bright sunny day. Instead of looking at "how littleyou can charge" you guys dont understand how cost and demand or acompetitive market works.Business' use other business' to raise their prices when demand is high, they compete and lower their prices when demand is low. Im a business man and I find that I could be selling my product for more, why? because there is a high demand for seekers, these people like madcat or whoever that dont understandYOU RAISE your priceswith demand not lower them. Lowering the prices when there is high demandjustcauses them to lose money as well as everyone else!

Right now you have people selling seekers for 250 creds when their server as a whole could be making alot more money if thosewannabe business men would raise their prices to match that of the demand, not lower it...the demand is going to get worse when charges are implemented, more BHs will want them. In essence these 16 year oldteenagers, that have no idea how economics work, decide they can sell something at a loss or close to a loss without viewing the big picture and yes Ill be happy to come on these boards and remind them how moronic they are being. If demand drops a ton then I can see people wanting to sell seekers at a loss just to get people in their store, but as it is right now and when charges are implemented the demand will be high and they are costing themselves as well as numerous numerous DEs money because of their stupidity.

As for me saying you dont have "my respect" I was stating people who cant grasp what I just said do not have my respect as a DEI wasnt refering to you individually, so dont take it personally.

Here, here Vyndice. Well said, good efforts, and I hear you loud and clear... just wish everyone else could too.

But you know what, as being one of only a handful of people I have met in life who have the natural ability to interrelate multivariable systems on the fly (doing such things as troubleshooting electronic circut boards and employment scheduals), I'm used to people 'not getting it'. Sucks, but most people just aren't built for math, spacial relationships, and cognitive deduction... same reason why not everyone is good at farming, would imagine. Heck, when I was a kid my mom singlehandedly killed 4 ferns in less than a month in our hallway. Evil she was, as an amature horticulturalist, evil!

I had a long post that I was going to put here. But, decided to just say this.

I do understand business. I understand competetion. I am not stupid, moronic, antisocial, or anything else.

My involvement in these threads is over. It is clear that the lot of you wish to flame and not discuss. Don't think you're flamers? Go back and look at the names you called me.

For those of you on Bloodfin, thanks for the inspiration to compete against you even harder.

hmmm obviously Michela is one of those people who sells seekers for 250 creds when they are in high demand and claim they know business...whelp cant argue with a fool, keep selling your seekers for a loss, just because you arent smart enough to catch on to the fact "you could sell them for more" and "your hurting other DEs as well as yourself by not"doesnt mean other people wont. You DEs competing agianst this guy on bloodfin have my sympathy, its tough when foolish people can ruin a good thing for others.

This is exactly the kind of misinformed drivel that I was talking about.

First off, I could sell Seekers at 250cr and 60% of that would be profit. I run a very tight ship when it comes to resource acquisition.

Second, I don't. I sell Seekers for 500cr and Araks for 2000cr when I feel like making them (which isn't often).

So, next time you want to mouth-off, get your facts straight before you do.

Somehow when you called me by name in that last post, I figured the post was directed at me.

But, that's a deal.

oh and btw there is no way you could sell seekers for 250 creds with 60% profit unless someone is giving you free resources...

In reference to people selling seekers for 250 creds...

you wrote this...I do understand business. I understand competetion. I am not stupid, moronic, antisocial, or anything else.

If you had read my posts which are all about DEs selling seekers for 250 creds you would not have taken what I said and applied it to yourself as you did, if you sold them for 500...ugh first Im trying to teach people how to build a working market and now Im teaching people to read...I give up

Wait, I was right in the first place. My resources cost 0.6 credits per unit. My profit margin is 60% if sold at 250cr.

Very well put Kitsunetsuki , but these people will never get it.

I will -not- dictate my business policies around how -you- want me to run my business and price -my- wares. It's my business, my product, my money, so I will price it as I see fit, and if I want to price it at a loss (which I don't, actually, because I can't afford to take a loss), then that's my business and you have no right to tell me otherwise. I'm sorry if my low prices effect your business, but quite frankly, I'm not in business to help you out, I'm in business to help me out.
