Thread: What is the HIGHEST Harvest Droid rating anyone has ACTUALLY made?

Those reported numbers help a lot. I should have recorded mine. I still think the droid is the best kept secret of the build. It's not a miracle device but it does have its rewards.

Case and point; on Corbantis we finally have a really, really good spawn of Avian meat. The catch is, it's on the little rasp birds on Talus. My ranger character with Bounty Hunter and Pistoleer skills can clean a lair out in no time. The problem is that my ranger character only gets about 6-7 on the meat harvest. The droid however gets 9-11.

Painfull? Yes, but when we are talking a resource that is currently going for 125cpu, *every* bit helps.

It is my honest opinion that the scout harvester module has been wrongly implimented.

Now..if it was like a Med6 module..then that would be ok,,but the fact that you have to use 6 of them to get to the 120 rating (not that you can - given the overall poor COND of steel) means we will never be able to make the harvest droid equal the functionalitu of a medic6 droid.

Is this intended? I dont know.

Is this reasonable..well I dont think so..sales reports tell me anything less than 100 is a waste of cash..

So my question is: why should any Scout/Ranger bother?

balance..no doubt is behind this..but I think in this case it is wrongly implimented.

Scout Harvester Modules 1-6 is the way I would like it, it addresses several other problems like the player limit on droids in the datapad too.

And.while on the subject, why has the module 1-6 concept been scrapped without a single word to the DE's for these new modules? Cant expect everyone to buy R3.

that means that the droid is giving you a huge improvement! 9-11 is a lot more than 6-7. after 100 harvests that's a difference between about 650 units of the resource, or 1000 units of the resource.

I'm mining some 945 OQ, 700 Cond, steel now. hopefully it will make a difference for me, and let me at least break the 100 barrier. my copper is already very high on cond and oq, and i've got lots of different kinds of gas with oq > 900. it's just the steel that has been a problem.

I agree with you about 90% shian. The implementation of our stacking modules is ill conceived at best. Since it cuts out one of our best features: modularity. I was being asked about Harvest/Trap droids quite a lot, but people were turned off when they learned that two droids with one function each was the way to get best results. Customers want the best, but when it comes to droids, they want multiple functions as well as high quality. I feel slightly hamstrung when I have to make One Trick Androids.

The part where I disagree is in having 6 levels of module. I think that would be bloated and unnecessary. I am glad it was dropped since I think that most mid level modules are useless. I think the best implementation has been overlooked because it was done with our red-headed stepchild module, the Structure Maintenance module. Having 3 levels of functionality seems like a good compromise, and I would have strongly pushed for having all our other 1-6 schematics cut down to 3, if I had known it was under consideration (as well as having 1-3 levels on such designs as Effect,Combat,Harvest, Trap, and Stimpack).

I don't want this confused with a rant or a gripe, I think our publishes were a great improvement to our profession, but I know it could have been done better. I can live with what we have, I just hope that we won't have to wait 31 months to see any more fixes.

Best I can get so far with 6 mods in an advanced R3 is 104. That's on Sunrunner.

Went thru the same situation as Ackdel there only it was Avian meat from reptilian flyers on Dath. W/o food or droid my ranger was pulling in 64 units a kill on the matures. W/ food & droid it averaged 74 ( couple of harvests were up to 79 units! ). As I am a studying Ranger/CH my tracking was at 3. The droid was made by my alt with a combined harvest rating of 108.

The droids sell well for me hereon Shadowfire, I am averaging 3 a day on these Adv R3's. I sell them for 38K credits. Customers would like to have a choice on the droids but the R3 is the best I have told them.

If the question of usefullness is tied to speed of harvesting then your character will win, hands down. the trade-off is the harvesting amount, I guess. While my character is a support type & our tanks did most of the killing, I stayed behind handling my CH pet & clicking on the kills as they went down & sent my little buddy in to do the harvesting. I agroed only once all night.Net result, no deaths to our party & over 3k units of avian meat harvested in less than 3 hours by the 2 of us who could harvest. A good nights work IMHO.

did something change with the hotfix? I had a crate of patch8 harvest clusters which i built before the hotfix in r3s w/ 107 bonus (17.x for individual). Today's droid is coming out with a bonus of 100.

I am a rilfeman/Ranger as my alt and I find it very useful. while I am not a Master Rifle so I don't have the StrafeShot attack I find it real easy to A)find Copses I have "lost" and B) that if I am outside around 45m I get a Message that says I am to far away.

How I find copses is I turned on the show ALL Names in the Options menu. It cluttes my screen in cities(I can always turn it back off) but makes finding copses in the wild a breeze. As I ruteenly hunt with my guildmates it is quite offen I have to hunt out the corpse to harvest one way or another. also once you have the system message that the Droid harvested XX units of whatever you can /yell <command> it to the next target. FYI. with my 9X% Droid I am pulling about 5 units more per 80 unit harvest. I think that as the Bonus is a +% of the "normal" pull that the "larger" the Creature the bigger the notaceable bounus.

107 on Farstar.

I think 108 is the best possible here - gonna try to equal that myself (I think my resources are up to it) but I don't have a huge stack left - maybe 5k of the steel
