Thread: What is the HIGHEST Harvest Droid rating anyone has ACTUALLY made?

My best is +99.

I don't know why. I have great resources and toss all failures. What do you look for? OQ? My gas is 977, copper is 948 and steel is 998. Of course this is all OQ.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but every component ends up, 9/16 for a total of +99.

BTW: I just want to say I think the harvest droid is one of the most usefull droids we can make and is the best kept secret in the new build.

My Ranger character uses one all the time. Helps a lot. It always gathers more than he can.

At present 105.

Using Platinite Copper (Febagis) Carbonite Steel (Iniis) and Corthel Inert Gas (Quadahi)

Will be aiming for alot higher as this is turning out to be a high demand Droid.

Look at the schematic. OQ counts for only 50% of the effectiveness. The other 50% depends upon conductivity. You need resources with both high conductivity and high OQ, and as everyone is saying here, the problem most of us are having is that high conductivity steel is very hard to find.

Wow you other Scylla guys are making me look bad, that's what I get for starting to collect stuff only about a month ago. I have the good Acaw steel, but the copper is my problem.

For conversation purposes, what is the Harvesting difference between say a 100 , 107, and 115? Is it a huge difference? May need to try and buy some older resources.

if i pop a veghash (+ creature harvesting) then use a droid to harvest, does the droid get the veghash bonus as well?

I used the rest of my Erco steel to make modules with 18 bonus... I have two on my vendor - each came out with 111 harvest bonus.

I'm out of Erco now... But if I can get more, I can make more.

Edit: Using my regular schematic, I can make 107s.

Same here Mightion. The 111 on Chily seems only possible with Erco. I made a few 111's but Siekierah isn't too happy that I used her Weaponsmithin' Erco, lol. Next best I have is 108's with Ikawid steel.

I am a ranger as well and I completely disagree with this statement. I have used a 106 rated harvesting droid a few times and what I find is that it slows me down.

  • It takes a while to run up to the corpse

  • It takes longer than I would to harvest it

  • It insists on running back after it completes a harvest

  • I cannot chain harvest commands together so I have to wait and watch as it harvests so i can tell it the next thing to harvest

  • I am a rifleman, and I tend to kill several things at a time with strafe2, so I don't always have the corpses targeted. This means that I have to find the corpses on the ground from 60+m away and click on them to get the droid to target and harvest them. It's a pain

  • Then to top it off, the droid doesn't always listen to me. Sometimes I target a corpse and say "Harvest" and it moves 2 meters and then stops. Usually takes one or two more times to get it to go after the corpse at that point.

  • In the end, its harvest rate is not so much higher than mine that it makes up for the lost time of dealing with its quirkiness and slow pace.

Call me picky but the thing is practically worthless to me. About the only time I would use it is if someone was offering like 200cpu for some uber avian meat, and even then I might not.

It comes down to speed. If i can rapidly take down and harvest all the creatures of a lair and move on to the next one using /areatrack, I am better off than sitting with my thumb up my bum waiting for R2Dipstick to get his act together and harvest the darn birdie meat.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but why couldn't the devs have just given us a droid that gives us scouts a bonus to harvest, like the medical droids do for docs and buffs? So much simpler, less code, and more useful.

I was testing out a 106 Harvester today (I'm a ranger with tracking IV), and this is what I was getting from crazed robas:

Me: 28 hide

Me + Droid Harvest: 31 Hide

Me + Vegash: 32 hide

Me+ Vegash + Droid Harvest: 34 Hide

Just to throw that out there.

I made a pretty good number of +20 modules on TC. I was able to build Harvest +120 R3 Adv. who appeared to get their owners a 20% yield (over and above what they could sample).

Closest on Live? 17.

k, so how does this work without 1000oq/cd materials??? since that really spiffy crafting system change didnt stick.... i thought it wasnt possible to hit 100%.... or do you get 20 w/o maxing? and if so.... anyone know how close you need to be?

I don't have the exact stats of what I used but I'm pretty sure they were up in the high 900s.

I think I got it up to 96% or so.

On Bloodfin, my alt, glaumr, built me a 113 rated droid -- he got a lucky experiment and was able to make modules at 18 (but they were probably closer to 19 fractionally). The key is not just good copper and decent steel, but high oq inert gas as well. He also has built a 108 rated droid (by combining the last 3 modules from the factory run which made the modules used to make the first bot) with some 17 rated modules).

I'm waiting / looking for inert gas with an oq over 900+ to see if I can make more....
