Thread: DE's keep killing the DE economy
shawn,
Until we are fixed as a profession, you won;t be able to force people to do what they should do.
Sad but true.
Yes, it ruins it for everyone else.
I wish there was something we could do about it.
ha ha ha ha ha ha I got 80 million credits.. I am a master DE.. I sold 100 droids LOL in all DE's faces as I now quit DE and do somthing cool.. I didnt even need to sell anything except resources.. Now I am the uber pimp mo Mayor of a city on Radiant and you all live in shacks made of droid batteries..
I loved my Holocron.. Master CH.. I laughed so **edit** hard!!
Elitros Calimah - MDE/MArtisan/Mayor AKA: Emperor Oceta {Unguilded}
CEO: UberLootZ PowoR KonstrukT
CEO: MoPhatZ Resources
Mayor of Aldera
Yes.. I organized price fixing and revolutions on Radiant with amrorsmiths.. I raised the price of resources.. I held resources and bought out the market share of resources of importance.. I made the uber resources cost so much that it was not even funny! And the people demanded there better armor and would pay more and more for the better weapons made from the resources I held hostage..
I must say though in the end I feel like robin hood as I have taken the rich mans money and turned it into a lovely city full of people of all professions. . Free of charge to live in and they get new homes made for them, free medium 10 rate mineral extractors and power to start off with.. The only catch is to sell the resources to me for 2cpu and I sell to all other cities effectively creating Jobs for citizens who volunteer to enter the program..
I will in turn make 33% profit off of these or more and keep upgrading the city..
Elitros..
We will have the nicest city on Radiant and I will spend my money to make this happen.. Mayor is so cool!!
Pricing depends only on the greed of the individual selling them. Those hard up for cash slash prices, those not, don't.
I am in the game to have fun in the profession I chose from before it even came out. I love being a DE, bugs and all, and though the promised fixes are far off, I keep my prices at a nice rate so when the fixes do come, I will be selling them for what they are actually worth. True mods don't all work, but why sell for less? When the fix comes, you will only have screwed yourself out of the actual value of the droid.
Cheapest I sell is a surgical or LE repair for 10k
Most expensive? Load lifters at 50k, Protocol at 40-45k.

This would be called "exploiting." If you do not agree, sorry. When you play the game each time, you agree by clicking the accept button that you will "report all exploits to SOE andnot communicate themwith other players";according to the license agreement stating:
7. You acknowledge that you are bound by the terms and conditions of the Software License and Limited Warranty that accompanies the Game. You acknowledge and agree that you have not and will not acquire or obtain any intellectual property or other rights, including any right of exploitation, of any kind in or to the software, artwork, music, and other components included in the accompanying CD-ROM (the "Software") or the Game, including, without limitation, in any character(s), item(s), coin(s) or other material or property.
Sorry, I don't exploit. General module socket clusters ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE GOING IN THE WRONG LOCATION JUST BECAUSE THEY FIT AND HAVEN'T FIXED THIS ISSUE YET. This is according the license agreement of the game. You WILL NOT exploit items or characters according to the above listed by SOE.
Of course, I notice this arguement only applies to what YOU define as a "Exploit", and does not apply to those issues that could also be an exploit which I'm certain you use. Stacked modules. Med modules in anything other than a Surgical. Repair in anything other than a Repair chasis. Convienent when it makes you more money, doesn't exist when it doesn't. Ethics apply across all boundaries when you take a stand. You're accusing others of unethical exploitation? I submit that you must IMMEDIATELY stop any stacking of modules, and any implementation of Repair or Medical in any chasis other than the designated ones.
And there's NOTHING unethical when 2/3 of your proffession is broken, doesn't do anything worthwhile, or there's no other way to justify it's existance(Protocol). If it was such a big issue, wouldn't it have been fixed in the last 5 months when they fixed our other major bugs?
Ah, but that doesn't suit your campaign for credits.
According to Therearntan, exploiting is fine and completely justified in his own mind. He obviously needs to develop a code of ethics because if he were ethical, he wouldn't be saying or doing such a thing as this.
As above, my ethics are fine. I explain my position completely. There is no Dev post stating that this is unintended, nor is there any other way to justify certain models of droids existance. And then, who really cares when only 2 out of 5 modules actually provide a desirable effect?
But your ethics? Highly hypocritical. And blindingly motivated by greed.
You would be following the terms and agreements to which you agree to every time you play the game. If you don't agree, then stop clicking accept and don't play at all.
Sure thing! You first! Unless you intend to tell customers they can't have a Med module in a R series, Probot, Protocol, MSE, or anything other than Surgical.
That simple. Every DE who thinks this way is in the same boat. I have a higher moral code obviously than to choose and exploit items in the SWG environment.
Your moral code is a joke. You're purely motivated by greed as displayed readily by your hypocritical "Ethics" and your obscenely overrated prices, as well as your blatant misrepresentation of product.
And I disagree with you Therearntan, experimenting does help out components that are installed.
Every Med 6 module, regardless of experimentation is 110%. Every armor 6 module is Medium & 40%. Every Item 6 module is 10 items. Every Data 6 module is useless. No matter what you experiment them to, they all have the exact same effect. It's undeniable. It's blindingly obvious. It's right on the freaking droid when you look at him. Stating anything else is misrepresentation.
Mechanism Quality has NO effect on anything, as clearly shown by the fact that something as simple as an Advanced Frame has a Mechanism Quality and it does nothing.
There is no hidden effect. It's that simple. Just as with Architects, DE experimentation is non-functional. Since we know we haven't had a Dev in 3-4 months, there's been no Stealth Change.
And it will definately help when the experimentation tree is fixed too.
On new products? Yes. On old ones? No. Just as with harvesters, existing product will remain the same. They have no way to quickly and safely parse the Databases and strategically change each droids personal settings. Odds are trying would leave the database corrupted. This is why experimentation on old Harvesters didn't have an effect when changed, because the old harvesters weren't compatible. Neither will Droids.
And if you think I'm "raping" my customers, why don't you go and post a message to the CH's that are selling dewbacks on the Eclipse server for 900K, without the mount. If you don't like my prices, go fly a kite.
Exactly what do CH's have to do with the price of Droids?
Now you're justifying your greed. You ARE raping your customers. If you're telling them your droids are somehow better than anyone elses based upon resources or experimentation then you are also lieing to them.
As someone else showed earlier, your prices are obscenely overinflated even compared to 3cpu for resources, which is a rather generous estimate for cost.
You don't want to be accused of raping people? Then don't come on here and cry about Ethics and Exploits. When you're pulling that kind of crap on customers you've got some major ethics issues of your own that you need to work out before complaining about Nested Modules most of which don't do anything worthwhile.
My droids sell, that's what counts, and each server is different, some people charge way more for droids. The guy with the custom droid order on his website is charging 15K for one piece of level 6 armor added to a droid. His droids sell for way more than mine, and he has plenty of orders. Until you play on the Eclipse server for 6 months, then you can talk about prices.
And he's raping people as well.
I also don't need to play on Eclipse to talk about prices. Unless your Harvesters cost 1,000 credits per hour it doesn't cost you anymore than it costs me to make a droid. As such, I think I have a perfect basis to discuss prices on any server. And 55k is rape on any server.
Ethics speak a lot for people, and it tells me a lot about whatexploiters do outside this game and how they think. There are more than a few exploiters that have posted on this thread too.
At least I play this game honestly, and maybe you should start to as well.
BS. Your ethics are based within Greed. Don't try to pull the high road here. Anyone charging a 1000%+ markup, lieing to their customers, and picking and choosing what's an exploit and what isn't without any basis other than Greed has some seriously debatable Ethics.
This entire thread has it's basis upon YOUR greed. YOUR lack of ethics. Don't try to sit here and pull the "Your all exploiting" card now to justify your questionable ethics when every point of your initial post got blown out of the water by numerous people.
Personally, I'm done with this thread. It's obvious to anyone who reads through it that you're motivated by greed. Though I do recommend you reexamine the definition of Ethics. Oddly enough Ethics really does include not lieing to customers, and not charging them 1000% markups.
But you'll learn that soon enough. As I said earlier. You're server will flood with DE's due entirely to your greed.
