Thread: Droid Poll: Your top five issues (only 5, folks....really, really).
1. The armor nerf - if anything, it needs to remain at 40% resists if they insist on making them AR0, but there really is no excuse for not at least having light armor
2. Colorization of chassis is being removed in favor of a system that reduces the function and not enhances it
3. The little bugs are still around : naming talking droids, storage in surgicals...it's getting REALLY old at this point, especially when they have spent so much time on lesser issues
4. Lack of real utility in proposed Publish 8 modules
5. Lack of any function to the BLL. It has the same capabilities as an advanced mouse droid. Players have huge problems with storage, specificly moving sub-components between factories. 1+1=2. Get it?

Sorry, not gonna fall for this crap this time. The "Top 5 issues" thread is just SOE's excuse to be able to fix a bunch of simple bugs instead of doing the hard work required to correctly balance Droid Engineer and make Droids useful.
So there's really only one issue:
1) The apparent disregard for droids in the Star Wars universe that is exhibited by SOE.
Droids should be abundant, pervasive, and useful. Droids should make mundane tasks easier or should do them for you. Droid should be a necessary part of the game. Right now they are none of the above.
Bravo.
I tried to be constructive and gave my 5 top issues.
#5 was the hardest...because I just wanted to say, "EVERYTHING ELSE".
You are right, it is futile.
Instead of contributing to this list, let's just tell TK "Everything is fine...move on."
If we had done that in the first place, and told the Devs to just leave us alone, no invasion no rebuilt, and I think we would have been better off. ![]()
AO
I know this has all been said over and over, but I'll just throw my thoughts in for the "hallibut" ![]()
1.)Issue:Droid Armor must, MUST, be restored in some fashion. While I do enjoy the new combat droids, they are in NO way comparable to most other CL 10 to 13 pets in terms of durability. Even light armor would increase the effectiveness/ value of combat droids to the general populace and make them, at least in some cases, the preferred pet of choice. Right now, there is no actual "value added" quotient to purchasing a droid. As a side note, I really must say that the way the armor change was handled was, how shall i say it....poor. More information presented PRIOR to implementation of these kinds of highly controverisal changes won't lead to half as many questions and unhappinessin the future. Ignore that advice at your own risk ![]()
2.) Issue: Droid naming conventions MUST to be loosened up a bit to allow DE's to at least attempt to merge in with the game. There is NOTHING more frustrating from my DE perspective than seeing NPC droids running around with numbers in their name on every freaking planet, but I can't make them. Conversational droid naming must also be fixed...nuff' said.
3.) Wishlist/Feature: Add a Resource Survey Droid similar to the BH Arakyd droid in functionality. On my server, Radiant, I am a Miner/Resourcer (mostly because I don't sell that many droids, and I have been doing it LONG before I went DE:smileywink
. There are LOTS of other miners on the other servers as well. I can't think of a single item that would add more to my enjoyment than having a droid that I could send out to do a preliminary survey of other planets. What I do currently is attempt to visit EVERY planet at least once every two weeks. Then I survey EVERY planet to see if there is something good. Then I SURVEY each planet where a particularly valuable resource is that I need/want/have been requested to find. Honestly, sometimes it is GOD AWFUL boring. I've actually taken people along with me and they get bored after the first planet! I'm just a glutton for punishment I guess
With the Survey Droid, I would not longer have to physically visit each planet (shuttle waits, money down the drain if I don't find anything, etc.). If the idea is to put the "FUN" back in this game, I can think of no other item that would allow me to actually enjoy the game instead of spending lonely hours surveying planets. I think there would be a lot of people outside the DE biz who would appeciate this small item too.
4.) Wishlist/ Feature: Additional functionality, in terms of additional storage or modules, must be added to the BLL and Advanced BLL. The provide no value to players OR to DE's. As a general question to the designers, I would have to ask the rhetorical question...."what purpose do BLL's serve in this game"? We all know the answer here ![]()
5.) Wishlist/Feature: Combat Droids MUST, in one form or another and whether everyone likes it or not,be put into this game if the DE is to become a viable/requested service, in my humble opinion. At this point, DE's provide no items to the game world/economy that are considered "necessary". The same cannot be said for medic/doctor, armorer, weaponsmith, architect, chef, tailor, etc. You get the picture. Help us find our place in the galaxy ![]()
Of course I have a lot more, but some guy REALLY REALLY doesn't want me to do more than 5 ![]()
And now, the obligatory bastardized SW quotation! You must help us TK421, you are our only hope ![]()
Have a GREAT DAY all ![]()
1) The apparent disregard for droids in the Star Wars universe that is exhibited by SOE. (Thanks Kollos!)

2) See #1
3) See #1
4) See #1
5) See #1
1. Lack of Combat Droids
2.Lack of more utility
3. Bug Fix- Item Storage in Surgical Droids
4. Naming filter on droids
5. Namingof conversation droids period
- Not enough utility in utility droids
- lack of market for combat droids
- Lack of Developer Communication
- False advertisement of publishes
- I stubbed my toe
I know it is off topic, but Micco, I know a resource seller on Kauri who deals with this issue by making friends with as many crafters as he can and then telling them that he'll pay 20k for any emails they send him containing waypoints to high concentrations of quality resources. I don't know how well it works for him, but I've discovered it to be a consistent source of income for myself. :-) Whenever I find something I need that is good quality and concentration, I drop a harverster, send him an email with some stats regarding the spot, and the next day he tips me 20k.

2. Bug : Crafting station modules are not all set in the correct skill tree.
3. Feature change/add: More droid in datapad for DE and maybe more out at the same time
4. Feature change/add: 4 different combat modules
5. Issue : Categorise shematics of droid component something like :
- Module
--- Armor
--- combat
--- storage
--- data storage
--- medical
--- crafting station
- chasis
- droid components
- tools components
- generic components
- Deeds
--- combat capable droids
--- non combat droids
--- tools
--- misc

Hehe, who says we need to stay on topicActually, that is a wonderful idea Mal, and I'll take a look into it! Seems like that might work AND bring in a nice cash flow if I can set it up right.Right now though, it seems that most of the crafters I know come to me first before trying to find a spot on their own, but I deal with some pretty busy people
They actually come to me because I'm the one that put them on an e-mail list for resource updates. They see something they like and they contact me as soon as they are on. Can't say I'm unhappy about that, cause it is defintely a money maker, but I wouldn't mind making my life a bit easier. I'm getting lazy and just want to lay around my house sipping Jawa Beers in my advanced age
P.S. TK, don't one star me
