Thread: Droid Poll: Your top five issues (only 5, folks....really, really).

1- Bugs. Fix them. (this shouldn't be separate items, bugs are bugs and need to be squashed)


2- Soden's Hybrid proposal or something like it.


3- Droid Armor. Either up the armor rating or remove the need for composite armor segments from the schematics.


4- More utility. Pub8 list is a start but people should be seeking out DE's to build them profession enhancing droids.


5- Varied combat modules that offer new damage types would be a wishlist item for me.



All that being said, it is disheartening that we are having to do a top 5 this close to our second focus publish. You would think by now the devs would know what is wrong with our profession.

1. Feature change/add: The Hybrid Proposal. We wants. Or at least be told why wanting it is a bad idea.


2. Feature change/add: Droid Decay. 'nuff said. It can last for a month or two, or longer. But "indefinitely" doesn't cut it.


3. Bug/Feature change/add: Conversational droids. Commands, names, the personality chips without a use (have them say something once in a while...) but first and foremost: ITEM STORAGE. Conversational droids at this point are sub-par to the R-units for most things, and the fact that it's a sub-par droid means it's pretty bad


4. Feature change/add: All information about a droid needs to be shown when examining a deed. Yes, I just copied and pasted thay from a previous poster.


5. Bug: Bounty hunter droid infinite reuse bug. (Another copy and paste). If it wasn't a bug, I'd put it under droid decay, but this needs to be fixed. Return customers <-- We need more of.


Other than that, I agree with Arden: That has better not be a rectal thermometer!

1) Droids need to become useless Limited # of uses


2) New combat droids with "real" Ham


3) Bug fixes.. You know the ones



Well it seems to me that our biggest problem with sales is that they last forever.. Weapons dont.. Armor doesnt.. Why droids?

1. Feature change/add:POWER ISSUES : Battery SLOT for ALL droids. (also, a slash command to recharge) It's ridiculous that a droid capable of carrying 1 milion units of aluminum cannot carry its' own battery. Power droid should never require a battery. It has a power core.


2. Bug: Droid toolkit schematic MUST be fixed.


3. Feature change/add:Redeed of Droids.


4. Feature change/add:MDE should have the ability for 10 or more droids in datapad. Furthermore, all players should be able to call a droid and a mount. MDE's should have +1 droid to be able to call, even if it is restricted to a utility droid


5. Feature change/add: All details of droid components should be visible on the deed, with complete stats. Furthermore, all droid components in clusters should be listed in the cluster description as well.

1. Feature change/add: Combat Droids added to game somehow! I feel we missed the boat tho and wont see this til after the space expanision.


2. Bug: Please fix the Droidsmiths Toolkit!


3. Feature change/add:Forget the 500 or 600 combat rating. My customers want the real damage stats! 145-155 attack damage?My customers what to know. This is part of a great problem of a droid not showing all of its modules both before and after tamed.


4. Feature change/add:Bring back droid personalities that existed in game at launch! That was cool. Dont know why it was taken out.


5.Feature change/add:I want more droids available to be stored by us DEs! And allow us to have two droids out at the same time!

1 Issue: Rebalance Profession
This should include concepts suce as Soden's / DigitalOneand other requirments that will enable Novice DE's the opportunity to produce sellable products and make the profession less relient on the MA title. This should put us more in-line with the other elite professions.


2. Issue / Bug: New Frames along with making each existing frame perform to specifications.

LE fixed on Wednesday now how about the power droid. There is a laundry list of ideas on utility droids, how about a few each patch, this way it's not overburdensome to the programmers, DEs and clients.


3. Feature / Change: Allow the DE profession to have expanded capablities in their datapad for droids. How can we understand all of the capabilities of droids without this as a feature. Consider how many good mechanical pets we are going to destroy to try out the new frames (2).


4. Bug: Fix Tapes and Crafting Belts. I have been able to find many vendors that have tapes for all of the melee and range professions. Not one has had a decent droid tape.


5. Feature/ Change: Personalization for Droids. Allow people to personalize their own droids. They are programmable right!



Alternate:

Interchangable parts. If a part cannot be removed, This may be difficult how about overwritten?

  1. Issue: Walking humanoid droids need a speed increase. LE droid as a combatant is nearly useless at the speed at which it walks.

  2. Issue: Tweak the Probot to come out ahead in battle statistics versus an advanced R3 unit.

  3. Issue: Remove the need to compete with BE pets for combat comparisons (i.e. tweak CL levels down and institute calling of pet and droid simultaneously).

  4. Bug: Droid Stim and Pet Stim are on same timer.

  5. Feature change/add: Some use for going with other droid chassis. Why won't people buy a Treadwell?

Sorry, not gonna fall for this crap this time. The "Top 5 issues" thread is just SOE's excuse to be able to fix a bunch of simple bugs instead of doing the hard work required to correctly balance Droid Engineer and make Droids useful.


So there's really only one issue:


1) The apparent disregard for droids in the Star Wars universe that is exhibited by SOE.


Droids should be abundant, pervasive, and useful. Droids should make mundane tasks easier or should do them for you. Droid should be a necessary part of the game. Right now they are none of the above.

4. Feature/Add: Ability to call two droids out at the same time (one of them not combat capable)
5. Feature/Add: Increase number of modules in protocol and BLL droids, they are insanely low (BLL still 0 modules??) considering they are 'high level droids'

I'm assuming we'll get the customization back in next publish...

I mean, is this Star Wars or not?


Here's my list:


1) Fire SOE.


2) Get Bio-Ware to develop and maintain the game.


2a) Should Bio-Ware not be able to take over responsbility, get a division of LucasArts on this.


3) Fix all bugs


4) Revamp of the DE profession to make Droids the useful, interesting, enjoyable, integral part of the game that they deserve to be.


5) Give TK a raise. Oh that's right, he's a volunteer working for nothing....so


HIRE HIM AND THEN GIVE HIM A RAISE!


I swear every single one of our correspondents have worked longer and harder then any member of the Dev staff.
