To bad i was looking forward to this droid. Maint is not all i worry about its power to and until they add that to the programming of the droid i think that the mager crafters will not get this droid.

I for one will not. Good idea good job and i hope the dev team reads this becuse unless it dose both its a usless item to me.

Now a droid id pay $$$ for is one that finds the best spot on the planet to place my harvisters

Most of the major crafters I know would kill for this droid. Its not harvesters that it really helps, its shops, storage houses, and factories. Even when they are concentrated in one area, when there are 8-9 of them its easier to just do it all from one place with the droid then to run into each house/factory individually and do maintenance. Also, I could see a lot of cities using this. I know quite a few that have one person who manages a bunch of houses (of all combat characters that could care less about having a house). Something like this would let them do maintenance on all the houses at once, making life easier.

Just wondering, does experimentation affect the structure modules at all? And are they stackable? Like will 6 level-3s allow me to pay 54 items?

That would make this module very handy to me and many others. Oh please say this is possible =)

We'll have to check but I don't think this has been tested yet.

Respectfully,

Just tested it

YES - they do stack - i put two level 3's into an advanced MSE - and ran out of buildings to put into it at around 16.

Ok this may sound stupid, but I want to verify. I know you need to be on the same planet to "launch" the droid. Yet what happens if you change planets before it returns? Meaning, you launch the droid on Tat to take care of structures, then you go to Naboo. I am assuming the droid has "interplanetry travel" to return to you, which is ironic.

Now you also said you can pull another droid from your pad, can this be another maint droid? Is there a limit?

I agree with everybody else, sicne I need to head out to the harvesters anyway, I would find it much more useful to just be able to check the status of each. While paying Maint is great, it's not really enough.

I don't really care about it controling resources, I can easily see if the resource is still available by opening my tool, since I do need to be on the same planet anyway.

No one I know is interested in it because all it does is maintenance. Virtually everyone I have polled on the subject has responded with some form of "you mean it doesn't do power? what good is that?"

I maintain about 15 buildings in my town, but I add about a month's maintenance to them when I do my rounds. Why on earth would I want to consume one of my 5 droid slots for something that I only need to use once a month?

So... i guess what your trying to say is that you want to have to return to the original planet to retrieve your droid? Careful, because the devs are more likely to make that an option if you push thatline of thinkingtoo far...

Its better to say at this point - that this droid is useful to the point that we can touch down on the planet - launch the droid and pay for any buildings on the planet, and head off to the next planet saving a bit of time in the end. Yes, it would be helpful for it to be interplanetary and to hold power - but i think we need to be thankful for what we have so far. (its already saved me a few times from having to pay charges on my houses decaying on TC)

Now you also said you can pull another droid from your pad, can this be another maint droid? Is there a limit?

No limit to the number doing runs at a time. The droid is in a state as if it was stored - but cannot be called until the timer runs out. The maintenance is done instantly and the droid is in its storage untill you can call it again.

guess we tend to hang around different people. I know quite a few people that have lost structures do to lack of maintenance, not everyone is on top of it enough to hit up every building. Even those that are miss them from time to time, much easier to just go down the list.

Questions:

  • Can I launch 2 seperate maint. Droids at the same time. (Set one off on Lok and then travelt o Naboo and set one off there?)

  • Whats the Maximum number of structures that can be maintained by 1 doid using stacked modules? (Sorry, I'm not a DE and dont understand this part)

Concerns:

  • Is there a way to /macro the addition of a structure to a droid?

    • When I plant a harvester I have a macro that, renames, pays maint, adds power, updates admin list, and opens status window. Can I somehow assign my doid via this macro?

  • With a seperate macro, it takes me .3 seconds to update the maint/power on a harvester. With the COUNTLESS shuttle ports we have on all the planets now and my swoop bike... I can update all aspects of all my harvesters in 15 minutes TOPS once I touch down on a planet. If I have to go to that planet myself to use this droid I might as well swoop over there and make sure its ok on power as well. This droid (to be usefull at all) NEEDS to be interplanetary.

Anyone tried anything like:

Honestly I probably wont use this droid for harvesters (see quote below). I MAY use it for houses / factories...but all of those are within 500 m of each other in my home town so I might not use it for that either. I'm not complaining... but I would think the DEs would be rather concerned about finally getting more modules...only to find they aren't valued/desired by the player base. I really hope (both for my sake and the sake of the DE market) that they make this droid interplanetary.

I have a waypoint for every structure I'm maintaining. At the start of my rounds, I activate all of them. As I tend to each structure, I deactivate the waypoint. I always make sure that they're all good for the same (minimum) amount of time, and then I send myself an email with the date for the next required rounds.

It's exceedingly simple, and this droid isn't going to improve it (for me) in any way. I can certainly understand that some people will find it useful, but from my experience and the people I know and talk to, it's really not looking like a big seller. I expect to sell more Entertainer Droids than Maintenance Droids in the long run.
