I guess the schematic is just an artifact too. I guess DE wsa a lot better in the good ole days back when they could make combat droids and droidsmith toolkits.

Ok...so the question is...was there anything really game breaking with the old Droid Repair Tool?

If not, couldn't the Devs just reinstate the ability for us to craft them temporarily just so we can use them in the Schematic while they fix the issue of the schmatic requirements? We all know they don't work, but it would be nice to be able to make the toolkits.

I can just imagine howconfused Thunderheart would be when we told him one of our top issues is getting a broken item re-added to the game.

Another big concern for me is that they made the toolkit a Sash you wear. Last time I tried on a sash it wouldnt work because I had a backpack on.

I doubt many DEs can live without a backpack with all the materials and resources we need to carry around. So essentially the toolkit is worthless anyways to most of us as giving up 50 items of storage space is a really tough proposition. Why couldnt it have been a belt???

My suggestion would be to allow backpacks and sashes on at the same time. I think most people would probably want this anyways to be able to wear backpacks and tusken bandoliers or for ubese users to be able to use the sash that is supposed to be part of their armor.

While I agree that it really stinks that the kit doesn't work and it is a bit unfair that other professions are given a skill enhancer that allows them to keep their backpacks on I have to say that I rarely have a problem with not having a backback on. Maybe if I am running about and restocking vendors (I have 4) with probes and seekers, but otherwise I am generally ok.

Being on Starsider (the unofficial RP server) I don't like to wear a backpack all the time, so generally I don't. I have a small pouch with 18 components for manufacturing droids (up from 16 because of the new combat modules) and a second small pouch that carries 12 different resources that I use. That is only half of my inventory space and I fill the rest with my weapons, a complete suit of armor, survey tools, three general manufacturing kits. and assorted bric-a-brac (usually a battery, a repair kit, some food, etc.) and I still generally have around 10 items of space left over.

It is infrequent that I don't have a material I need directly on me, the most common three that I might need and not have being Siliclastic Ore, Dioxis Gas, and Beyrillus Copper, and those I keep in my droids. I currently have 3 droids with 10 storage each, not all of which I am using, and I could easily rebuild one of my other two droids to have more storage. The only reason I currently don't have a forth droid with storage was because I nuked him so I could test out some fully loaded combat droids (since storage modules now take a space that a combat module could use).

This along with a few other things in the past few publishes just scream incompetence....if my company delivered projects like this to our customers we would be laughed out of the business

Is the droid engineer population so low that they can almost ignore us?

Yes. It is my feeling that if not for "Pet Wars" where everyone ran around with 2 grauls or a cowardly gurreck, we would not have seen the love.

Once the whole community was fed up with the Pet Wars they looked towards one professionthat was overly Star Warsy: the Droid Engineer and his Droids. So only after everyone got behind the "more droids less CH pets" movementdid anything start to happen. If not for such an out cry I doubt we'd haveseen any love at all.

Enjoy the next patch because it could be a while before anything else happens around here.

Imagine what would happen if the medic crafters apron or the weaponsmith tool kit required a similiar item that was no longer available.

Problem is all the DEs I knew quit after the joke of a groid invasion they stuck them with so there is no one left to complain but us tailors.

True, but when the next few publishes come out with 'REAL' combat droids, they will all be looking to us to make these...

...and we will just be able to shrug and say 'sorry!'

I'm still wondering why they added the schematic, when they took out the 1 component we need to make schematic.

WOW is looking better every day. :-)
