Thread: Droidsmith toolkit needs changed!

Good idea Ricetvatol....however...

Why do we need to go through all this trouble to get something fixed? Something that (I would hope) was an error that a dev made? Like I said before, I bet whoever created the schematic didn't know the droid repair tools could not be made anymore.

It just seems like a lot of effort when we have so many changes/fixes that need to be made.

No, it was just plain laziness on the coder's part. They copied the schematic for the weaponsmith's toolkit, (a weapon repair kit is required) and replaced it with a droid repair kit, and didn't even bother to check if they were still in the game. Internal QA should have tested it and seen that they could not make the Droidsmith's Toolset, given there is no droid repair kit either craftable or lootable.

And as for changing it to a loot item, that's not a good idea. There is already a rare loot item needed (the heavy duty clasps). It needs to be something DE-craftable, or Artisan Craftable to put it in line with the other limited use schematics of this type.

I know this thread was only started yesterday, but n'Jessi, is there ANY word from the Devs on this?

I have Droid Engineers clawing at my door, screaming for these things...I also have all the other items required to make them (and that's no small cost for the clasps!). Perhaps they can just remove the requirement of the repair tool from the schematic, so everyone can be happy?

I'm just wondering if we even have a timeline for when this will be fixed, since it's already been this way for some time...=(

HAHAHAHA

Oh my! I just got scanned for my first time. LK-300 was very polite and I came away clean. Then I look at his companion next to him. TK-421!

I'm not going to say there is any kind of conspiracy or anything...

I really didn't mean to flame. I was just a bit disappointed.

I think the major behind the scenes problem is that Dev 1 doesn't talk to Dev 2. How else do you explain some of these nonsensical things in the game. Publish 6 brought us a demolishonist's belt, which gives grenade assembly and experimentation. Huh? Those skills have been out of the game since beta. It's the same with this Droidsmith's Tool Kit. Whoever made the schematic for the item wasn't aware that the Droid Repair Kit has been out of the game for months. I guess the only other explaination would be that the devs are trying to get us to stock up on stupid little items that could be removed at any time, but might be required later.

Ackdel, I invite you to go back and look at TK's post history. He's far from a Dev yes-man. He's simply attempting to keep the forums positive, as a correspondent. He was nominated almost unanimously by his fellow DE's. He'll go to bat for us, believe me.

Ok...so the question is...was there anything really game breaking with the old Droid Repair Tool?

If not, couldn't the Devs just reinstate the ability for us to craft them temporarily just so we can use them in the Schematic while they fix the issue of the schmatic requirements? We all know they don't work, but it would be nice to be able to make the toolkits.

If they can remove the ability, they should be just as able to re-add the ability while the fix the problem...Just put the word out that they are bugged and shouldn't be used for anything other then as an ingredient...

/agree

I feel that the way things are set up now is totally unfair. Unless I have millions of dollars for this obsolete part, SOE is telling me that I don't deserve one.

Another big concern for me is that they made the toolkit a Sash you wear. Last time I tried on a sash it wouldnt work because I had a backpack on.

I doubt many DEs can live without a backpack with all the materials and resources we need to carry around. So essentially the toolkit is worthless anyways to most of us as giving up 50 items of storage space is a really tough proposition. Why couldnt it have been a belt???

My suggestion would be to allow backpacks and sashes on at the same time. I think most people would probably want this anyways to be able to wear backpacks and tusken bandoliers or for ubese users to be able to use the sash that is supposed to be part of their armor.
