How will the new droids be merged in? Can I create everything except for the deed now, and then on Tuesday make the deed and the droids will have the updated HAM? I don't expect the droids that are in existance now to have their HAM magically upgraded, but where is the cut-off in the creation process that I need to stop at now in order to have aaweseme production rate on Tuesday.

Hold the phone, let me get some things straight.
First off, regarding combat LE Repair. I assume this is a change for publish 8, because I haven't known about anything like this previous. How the heck do they fight? Do they use an actuall weapon (Like a rifle lets say) or do they shoot out of there arm or something? If they do use a weapon, can they use special attacks like other NPCs?
Secondly, the 20% resist thing. I'm making droids with 40%resists right now (It shows up 20% upon first tame, but 40% after you store it and re-call it). Did they lower it again? That seems pretty extreme to go from Medium armor 40%, down to just 40%, and then down again to only 20%. I mean, we finally get droid stims, and they lower the armor so droids still can't tank at all. Not to mention that making advanced droid stims is pretty much impossible with all of the specific rare resources they take.
Third (and most important I'd say), are the changes in HAM and damage going to be retroactive? I just finished a run of 50 of pretty much the best Probots I would guess anyone can make. I think 549 combat rating (5 modules with 109 combat rating, and then somewhere a few extra points were gained). Only way I could get those is to use 990 OQ 1000 Cond. copper and high 900's OQ gas. Neither of which are easy to find. Wasting that much of such good and rare stuff, I sure hope the changes are going to apply to them.

LE's have been combat models since Patch 7. They ONLY fight melee and are the "tanks" of the droid world, with the highest HAM and lowest damage. They have NO ranged attack at all.
From what folks are saying, it is "pretty likely" that any droids crafted that are still in crates (and maybe deeds) will probably "poof" up to the Post-a-patch-alyptic (heh) 8 level when "readied" (dont say "tamed" anymore!
).
But there's a lot of "possibly"s in there.
Since day one in SWG, I've always been VERY wary of the next patch, as they almost ALWAYS make something we did pre-patch go "poof" or "splat" if you know what I mean. Crafter Beware! is my motto.

Well, Patch 8 is looming fast, and I'm trying to gather what information I can on the new modules and the new combat stats. I'm digging in the dirt on TC with my fingers to build even the most lame of droids, so any of you who can crank out an Advanced Astromech or five or six, please let me know how the stats are looking combat-wise. Thanks.

On the subject of LE Repair droids in combat
It's worth noting that from issuing the attack command to the time the droid actually gets to its target, there is time for a light dinner to be prepared, served, eaten and the washing up all done.
Now if they would only shuffle faster...
And no, I'm saying nothing about armour, its still too upsetting.
