I like the suggestion overall, I find it hard to spot any real problem (except changing it while people are learning the profession).

I always tried not to grind and prefered to select each skill to learn based on what people around me were asking for, but I usually ending up finishing a skill by grinding.

In order to encourage droid making rather than grinding, why not give more xp for the final assembly of a droid, rather than a relatively large xp for a single droid component - isn't finishing a project worth more experience than starting a project? I'm only basing this statement on life, not a game

This may flood the market with low end droids but would stimulate demand for high end drds (I would hope).
