Well, no one seemed to have an opinion on what modules to put in my tank droids, so I went with two stimpack dispensers. I had the DE experiemnt for the maximum heal rate out of them (12 was what I got, dunno how that compares) . Each one holds about 75 charges. I don't have Pharmacology 4, so it may be a pain to refill them -- I may regret taking heal rate over charges. We'll see! I also bought an R3 with 5 dispensers with maximum charges (I think it has 275 charges or so) to use for healing between battles. Hopefully these will be worth the money. The extra slot went into an item storage slot to hold the crates of Stim-A's.
I'm still curious about the detonation droids if anyone has any info.
Thanks again,

i have 5 R3 droids atm:
1) combat: 6 combat modules/2 armor (4.5k HAMS)...may change to probot...but it keeps up ok in things like corvette
2) Xp tank: 1 combat mod/4 creature harvest mods/1 storage mod/2 armor
3) misc : 1 combat/1 storage/2 repair mod/2 auto repair/2armor
4) misc2: 1 combat/1storage/<4 modules>/2 armor
5) entertainer delight: all 6 effect modules
6) musician alt: 3 playbacks/1 storage/2 effect..allows my musician to be a full band even on endor lol and storage for instruments
i found the storage modules to be a godsend for my char who is always lugging around armor...and droid storage is non-decayable...so keep my armor there, along with my tools and other off/on use items.
i kinda wish the auto-repair would go faster...since battaries a way cheaper than repair kits for me
as for the exploder droids...havent tested them yet...but think adv MSE droids would be fun![]()
If you look, you will see that there are very few instances where general module socket clusters are actually used, and as far as I am concerned, this is plain wrong.
R-series droids are not combat droids, yet the R3 takes nothing butcombat capable module socket clusters and can take more combat modules than the one "true" combat droid, the probot....
And yet, the probot itself is not a combat droid. Yes, it has good armor and a slight ability to protect itself against hostile creatures (a must when probing wilderness areas), but in Ep5 it self destructed instead of engaging in combat with Han and Chewie.
What's needed is a vast reduction in the number of combat capable module and cluster slots in the current droids. Most droids should only have one or two module slots and the probot should have one combat cluster available. Then, schematics for true combat droids should be created, combat droids with more armor and combat slots, some with ranged and some with melee, some with more armor, some with more combat and some with balance.....and then turn the combat cluster slots into general cluster slots in the current utility droid schematics.
No way should an R3 have more combat module slots than a probot, regardless of which is better in operation.
For non-scouts that need a tank, well the auto-repair might be ok. I'd honstly think about taking the stim-dispensers if you can load them or have someone to load them with ease, seeing as how there is no time delay for the heal, and you can add your hunting partners to the friends group for heals, could be pretty worth while. Or just throw a storage mod and something else on him.
I use two different types of fiber for max HAM (3200 probot, 4500 R3, and 6000 LE), and I use a seemingly unending supply of Omniisoiam Polysteel Copper (cond 979, oq 954), on loan from God Himself! Combat rating is 319 per cluster, with mech quality generally 102-103 per cluster.
At my shops, when someone wants a combat droid that also has level 6 med, auto-repair, and stim-dispenser, I sell them an R3. When some wants combat with just auto-repair or just level 6 storage, I make them a probot. And when someone just wants a tank- a TRUE tank and a droid which is in my humble opinion the mainreason why waiting thru 10 months of crappy pre-publish 8 droids was worth it- I sell them an advanced LE. 6000 HAM??? Are you kidding me??? You're alltalking some obscure "damage per second" mumbo jumbo, all I'm thinking about is how many more of these LEs can I churn out beforeSOE nerfs them hard!
