Thread: Where is that Uber-post on why droid Certs won't work?

Keep providing intelligent feedback, don't let them off the hook if they throw you a bunch of PR bologna ... that's all you can do.
We've been DOING that, and then we end up with posts like 'Well you've clearly stated you want a separate profession' and 'Wow, please explain this change of heart.'
It's starting to look more and more like we are 100% out of the loop on control of the ongoing metamorphasis of this game. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if the devs didn't pretend otherwise. How much time have we wasted trying to provide intelligent discourse for them to peruse, hoping that we could see some of our ideas shape the upcoming changes, only to be ignored? Worse than ignored, only to have our time and ideas misconstrued and, dare I say it, outright lied about, while we were swept under the rug and kept blind to the changes?
TH, my man, I know you've got a tough job and that things don't always go as planned, but to have gotten Drashk's comment about us not liking the idea and then proposing it anyway? It's good to have it out in the open so that we know all you people have the wrong idea and can attempt, in vain, to correct it, but this just goes to show us that either A) Nobody is listening, or B) Someone comes along, reads a handful of posts, and assumes that's the general concensus. There is no possible way to call it decent, reasonable, or anything better than poor communication.
And on top of THAT, we keep getting told that we're gonna have this Droid Invasion, this massive change to the profession, blah blah. Does that not indicate, somewhere in there, that we should be somewhere near the top of the list on priorities? Runesabre has other priorities right now, ok. He's working on this big patch. Hey that's great, man, except for that we've been getting told that we're the patch after next for a few months now. Oooh, and coloring vehicles is a bigger priority than this profession, the purpose of which is to populate the world with droids just like in Star Wars. Oh wait, it's the next patchafternext. Oh my bad, now it's vehicles, you'll be the next patchafternext.
I know you're frustrated. You know we're frustrated. But this has moved squarely into the court of the devs. We could justifiably say that the ball has been dropped here, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The DE ball is sitting in the mean neighbor's yard and you kids keep saying you'll be brave and go get it, and then putting it off because you're afraid of the dog that once upon a time ate your brother. We are completely at your mercy, being chewed up by said dog, who slobbers a whole helluva lot, and we are suffering your procrastination more than any other profession in the game.
The people with vehicles can live without colors for ten **edit** minutes. We need you now.

Its not up yet. Runsabrewill put it up as soon as he can. Probably tomorrow or Thursday.
Just a thought, but maybe you should use actual dates instead of days of the week? Does this mean 1/21-22 or 1/28-29 or next month?

I don't care about dates missed by a day or two, or even a week, if the end result finally gets there. Out of all the "feedback" the devs have collected since launch regarding DE's, show me one thing in the game that's changed as a result of it. Think hard now.... not one thing. Not one that I can think of. We've given them plenty of feedback, it's time for them to actually do something with it.
"In response, Runsabre will be posting a big overview on the design challenges this afternoon."
"He posts when he can, but if something more important comes up, it gets bumped down the priority list."
So once again we thrash about seeking direction, lost in a vast ocean of confusion.
Begging your collective pardons SOE folks but do you even HAVE a game designer on the development/maintenance team? Somebody whose job it is to know the overall gaming system and balance it?
From the way things waffle about it does not look like it - this is NOT a job that the manager/producer or whoever is in charge of the personnel should be doing. It is the equivalent of an Industrial Engineer for creative RPG-type products.
Get one or give the one you have some cojones and a little authority.
