with the cu lots have changed in the game so what does being a newb mean?
This is from the Adventure Manuel for Star Wars Galaxies (alot of it is outdated by now but it gets the jist of things across):
"The Gungans call any newcomer to their swamps "newbies". The Gungan word has spread across the galaxy, and now describes anyone who is new to an area or even a job - A "newbie" could be someone who doesn't know the local customs yet, is still learning the lay of the land, or has just started building blasters for the first time. The moment you stepped off the shuttle, you were a "newbie"."
newb, noob, n00b, n00by, and new1 or some other variations to the word for a new player. The latter word (new1) is used mostly for someone new to a guild, group, or to an event.
no you missed the point, i used to know much about the various profession but now if you ask me anything about them, rifleman for example, i couldnt tell you much even though i was a long time master in the past. either we are all veterans or we are all noobs in the cu.
In my opinion being a veteran is more about knowing the people, places, and environment of the server than anything else. Sure, I may not know as much about post CU rifleman as I did about pre-CU, but that isn't too important since I do know who does know that info.

I love it when one of my crafter accounts gets mistaken for a noob. I had a guy offer to buy my BARC off me for the outstanding sum of 250k!!! and some cool stuff!!! It took him a good 30min to figure out I was takin the piss out of him (While I kept changing my hat to a Endor Helmet and a Black Sun, I thought that could of been a kind of big hint) it was the best fun I had in ages.

I'm a Novice Droid Engineer anda Master Shipwright / Master Merchant.
I use Novice Droid Engineer for the unprogrammed chips, and make factory runs of them....
Anywayws, I do want to be mistaken for a noob, I'm a CL 1 and I wear my original issue Cold Weather Jacket, Crafting Pants, and Soft Undershirt.
Then I put up my Novice Entertainer Tag or Novice Brawler (I switch between the two often)...
Is it a good thing? Of course? I never wear my Master Shipwright tag, as I get bombarded with questions, and I only handle customers by referrals only...
It's great tromping in on Mos Eisley, and grabbing Novice Brawler and killing Womp Rats with the noobs.
Heck I have a 85% customized speed/damage/critical hit Survival Knive oh with a damage powerup too! I'm the best equipped Level 1 brawler out there.
Have fun with it. And sometimes being a noob is just a great thing to be. (Although now I have a bit of notorierity since all my products are tagged)
Oh by the way, for harvester runs, I whip out my CL 30 Probot with 3 Auto-Repair Modules. Clears everything out!
Anyways, my thoughts... from a Noob Droid Engineer

My favourite so far, was a CL 7 new player trying to convince me to come with him to the Tusken Fort, because I am CL 13 (levels from BE). I kept saying 'Seriously, I can't fight, I am a Droid Engineer. I have no combat skills, and the Tusken Fort is really for higher combat level players than either of us' to which he replied 'You can hold a gun, can't you?'. lol. Good times

This happens to me daily when I'm trolling the bazaar for ship parts to RE. I've even gone so far as to put "No, I don't own a BARC speeder" in my bio sincethat's what everyone asks anyway
It doesn't seem to matter what tag I put up, they never seem to see past the CL 1.
