I keep hearing about this and i finally wanted to know what is it. Everyone keeps sayin their hologrinding for jedi, or their holocron told them to be this profession. What is this holocron thing everyone talks about? Can you bea jedi by using these items. If so where do you find these things? Does it have to be factionally based to recieve it?

wow new players actually? this may be a good thing, holocrons are about to be made obsolete due to the complete revampign of the jedi system. In the coming publish the existing jedi are getting revamped as is the profession. in Publish 10 the path is being changed to a quest based system. so holocrons are basically decorations.

I just recently did the series of quests outside the jedi temple ruins on Dantooine
and received the Sith holocron as a prize. Any word on what it will say to me if I
wait until after publish 9 or 10 to use it? Will those now be the hints for where
to go for the next series of quests? BTW I heard rumors of some of the quests for
Jedi already being in the game. Is this true?

Thanks for any info you can give.

It was stated that holocrons will "probably" be just decorations. Who knows what will happen tho. The DEVs have proven that they will change their minds on a moments notice and not let any of the players know when or why.

why don't you SEARCH before asking ..... DECORATION & believe me when i got them they weren't 100k's, there were millions.....of course i found mine but still :/

Last I heard was that holocrons would become decoration or furniture, which I personally think is ABSURD.

In the continuity a holocron is a repository of knowledge, including Force techniques, SCHEMATICS and a variety of other things. I think they should be used this way. They could be the source for things like advanced lightsabre schematics, jedi starfighter schematics, new force techniques and almost anything else Force-related. I think it would be a tragedy and a crime if they were relegated to the role of furniture.

For anyone who is unaware of these uses for a holocron, read the Expanded Universe resources or any of the Star Wars RPG gamebooks from Wizards of the Coast. All approved with the Lucas stamp of approval, you will note.

They're not going to change - but the devs have said they'll remain in the game. Their only use now is as home decorations (like the Broken Datapad, and Broken <insert word here>

Maybe, if we get lucky, they'll make junk dealers buy them for a decent price so they're atleast worth something
