So in the face of that, why do we continue to cling to a post from November?
Because, they have demonstrated repeatedlythat they do not meet their promises. How many times do you need to bemisled before you begin to disbelieve someone?
When they actually do WHAT THEY SAID, things may change.
I can see your still in the believers camp. I hope you are right.
But don't fall out of your chair if another 'change in priorities' is announced in two weeks or if publish 7 contains only a handful of minor fixes. Only then will you see the power of the dark side.
No but that's exactly what I'm saying. I'm not in the believer's camp. Other way around. If I was a believer, then I too would be looking back at November and saying, "but wait..."
It just seems to me like the community reaction to this was somewhat... belated. In the past week a lot of people have started quoting JustG's post from November (as have I, I freely admit) as if we didn't see it coming... But the signs were there, so why are we so surprised?
It's just interesting to me, that's all. It's like Rho said, a lot of people were skeptical when JustG said that initially. I have to assume that nothing changed that skepticism over the last 2 months, so why the sudden air of shock?
I'm as upset as the next DE at all the times we've gotten the bitter end of the deal. I'm as upset as the next DE that we're not getting a whole lot out of this patch. But if we're going to talk Droid Invasion, it just seems to me like we should have known for a while that it wasn't coming in Publish 6.
Frankly, I'm not holding out much hope for Publish 7 either - it seems like with the constant direction changes a lot is going to be pushed back to Publish 8. I see the signs. The history backs me up. Little the DEVs can say will make me blindly believe that all will be well with the world in Publish 7.
Anyway, I've made enough of a nuissance of myself in this thread...

All the people who makeposts that read "Why dev's hate X so much" and "JustG, please read" as if somehow what you have to say is so much more important than anything they are doing, need to get grow up a little. Things change, and there was some miscommunication about what we wanted vs what we were willing to accept. Did they screw up in communicating with us? I guess so. As far as im concerned, thier only mistake was in committing to a january release and im sure the only reason that happened was because all of the flame they got for "When are we going to hear about this? when is that happening, bla bla bla"
We all get it. You are disgruntled. Quit or shut up and offer some constructive critisism instead of harping on the past and beating them over the head with it every **edit** time you post. Like with the 1% decay thing. They do what we all ask and instead of people unamimously celebrating the goodness that is SOE, half the posts are like backhanded compliments. "Hey, glad you finally woke the F up" or "Good, now lets not let this happen again".
How about some respect? ...
There seems to be no shortage of attitude and nastiness and entitlement complexes on the boards. If you hate the game so much and you think they are all so incompetent, then QUIT. Its ridiculous to come here day after day and spew crap all over the boards. As far as the goodness of SOE goes, they scrapped a whole system for droids because people hated it instead of taking a page from your books and giving DE's the bird and putting it in anyway. In my book, thats good. In your book, thats not good enough.
The fact that i disagree with your stance does not make me an ass kissing dev lover. It just means that i can appreciate the 80%+ of the game that i really enjoy and can accept that this is a living environment that potentially could last years and things will change. Im sure everquest didnt start off perfect, but now its practically the kleenex of MMO's and has had like 5 or more expansion packs.
You berate us for our lack of constructive criticism, but there is nothing constructive about your posts. Stop ranting and trolling and take your own advice... If ya don't have anything constructive to say, then lurk more and post less...

Yeah yeah, they screwed us. Cry cry cry. You know what? I picked DE cause i thought it might be cool to build droids. As i built them, i learned they dont do much, and it takes a lot of XP to get anywhere. I didnt come on here and **edit** and moan and complain. Im quietly going through my profession, and if i dont like it after giving it a fair shake, ill chose something else. If everything else sucks too, im going to leave SWG. Thats how reality works.
Ok, judging by your registered date, you haven't been around too long. This makes you completely ignorant of what DE's have been through since Beta. See Gorantoth's issues list? It hasn't changed, other than a few additions, since Beta. All this despite repeated promises from just about every dev that we were "next on the list". You know not what DE has been through (or hasn't been through, depending on how you look at it). You've seen one instance of the devs throwing us to the back burner, well, it's been repeated over and over. The DE's that have stuck around are arguably the most passionate about Star Wars and "Star Warsiness". We want to see this game live up to the Star Wars name and ideal. It just hasn't happened yet. Although it doesn't come across in a lot of our posts, we are cautiously optimistic that this game will get better, if that wasn't the case many, if not all, of us would have given up on this months ago.

You're showing your ignorance here. They didn't "scrap a whole system" as you put it. The "system" was just in its beginning planning stages. It was a bad idea that didn't see it through to fruition, and this game will be better for it in the long run.

The development team arent retarted, morons or maschocists. They dont hate you, or your mom, or your profession. Get a grip.
