Thread: How do you experiment?

The 3-2-1 approach is best. If you burn them allat onceyou typically loose the opportunity at gaining an extra box on many builds. Idea is to fill the little squares below the big squares. You will often fill them up withone points if you go one at a time to finish off damage. Stats are the same in damage/speed either way. The difference is getting one extra box at the end on some builds.

Previously when crafting a saber, I would experiment one point at a time because it lowered the chances of a critical failure. Tonight I had a guildmate tell me that I am doing the exact opposite of what I should be doing because critical failures are a thing of the past.

I can see why it would be tempting to slap 7 experimentation points into efficiency and hope for an amazing.

Have any of you tried crafting in this manner, or do you all stick with the single point experimentation?

first roll 8 points into efficiency. If I don't get amazing success it's garbage.

after the first amazing roll, 1 to efficiency and 3 to dmg in 1 roll.

The chance to get 2 amazing rolls in a row it's so low that can't be achieved with less then 200 sabers, maybe more...

maybe me but I seem to notice that if I get 1 amazing the chances of getting another amazing in the next experiment are quite a bit higher.

Or you could just through all your points in at once and wait for the amazing....may take about 20-30 sabers. I used to do that with chef

Crit failures still happen while experimenting.1 point at a time minimizes the effect crits and moderates have, but you are not using hard to get loot here. For my sabers its amazing or garbage. A 6 point amazing gives the same result as 7 great's. I roll 6 into effieciency and go untill I get the amazing I want. At this point I usually go single point at a time into efficiency until capped(if thats my goal). Then remaining points into speed or damage and hope for the amazing to get best result. Rinse and repeat until you have the hilt you want.

So does the success rate of the crystal pack have any bearing on the final product?

use 1 point at a time in efficency, till i use up 8 points than 1 in eff and 1 in damage, do that 2 times (12 point ls suit). i also use a bespin port for every experiment point used.

When you experiment, each point is calculated seperately. If you roll 5 points into eff at once, you basically chain those together. The level of success reported is your roll for the LAST point.

Hence:

5 points into efficiency and get amazing means that points 1-4 are anything from crit fails to amazing, but the last one WAS amazing.

Now:

With food like Bespin port, it only lasts for ONE roll, so if you do 5 points at once, the FIRST point gets the boost, the rest don't.

This is why it is better to drink port, roll one point, drink port, roll one point, drink port, roll one point etc. You may well have to sit in front of the crafting station waiting for your stomach to empty, but this is the best way to craft for the highest success chance.
