My badThought it was a completely new post and I got all excited and didn't read the stickied items until just now. Oh well, sure it won't be the last mistake I make. Off to throw myself in a Sarlacc pit Thanks so much for doing this G, it truly is a wealth of information and a great guide to what we can and can't do at this time.

This is a quote from the Correspondents forum. The experimentation resources values were changed due to the change in the experimenation prereqs.

Sorry, 2:30am here and I'm having a tough problem making sense of this one. Are they saying that it's due to the change from Artisan experimentationto DE experimentation?

Yes. From what I gather it is tremendously more difficult to simply change a component from one type of experimentation to another. Changing the experimenation from Artisan to DE values isn't as simple as changing which profession the experimentation value comes from. From what was suggested, the component had to be moved to a different profession category which changed the resource requirments. Hope that clears this one up a bit more.

Basic protocols didn't have any space for modules and DSC is Droid Storage Compartment.

Thanks, I can't think of a module that I would put in a protocol droid. There to expensive to make. I don't know if this really makes them useful. I would rather have it be able to greet my guests that come to my house and/or vendor. They would have to make it an item you could drop in your house without having to call it as a pet.

I thought that is what it was, Droid Storage Compartment.

New issue emerged since the last patch (Thread below has more details: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=63439

This appears to be either a stealth nerf or (I think the second is more likely) a bug in that armour modules are no longer stacking. Two Lvl4 are giving 15% Medium (as does one Lvl4) and Two Lvl5 are giving 25% Medium (as does one Lvl5) with one lvl 6 being the only way to get 40% Medium.

Can we get confirmation from the devs as to whether this is an intended but uncommunicated nerf or an unintended bug, in which case do they have any idea on if a hotfix can repair it or are we going to wait until one of the Droid Invasion publishes.

Thanks

Regarding the Droid armor changing Resists it seems like my PSG's are doing the same. Might be good to know if it's based on the same system.

Ok This is Crazy!!! Check this out

1. Surgical droids cant use Item storage right now = The number 1 selling module cant be used! so now I am not making this droid

2. Armor Modules no longer stack?? = Advance Probot will now cost more to make!!!! I used to stack TWO module4's to bet maxed armor

3. ALL TWO leggers cant use repair Modules = well we might as well just stay away from these unnamable busted things!!!

4. Medical Modules are Broken = The second most popular Module is now usless, there goes the other half of my buisness

5. Armor Resists Degrade and Change randomly now = well there goes my probot buisness

6. Bounty Hunter Droids can be exploited

I cant build and sell reliable: Two Leggers, Probots, Medical droids and Bounty Hunter Droids......Um what exactly does that leave us.....

We are Worse off Than EVER!!!!!!!

Calm down its not as bad as it seems. What is broken about Medical Modules?I got buffed all weekend by doctors using my Medical Droids I even recharged them with my Power Droid. So it seems they are working as intended.(They never healed, they just give a bonus to healing you)

These have been known issues SINCE LAUNCH. It seems you are new to the DE profession. We have many modules that sell. Try making Surgical Droids with 110 Medical Rating and a Food/Chem Crafting station. Or try to build an R2 with with the110 Medical Rating, Food/Chem Crafting station and 10 Item storage. They both sell like Hot cakes off of my vendor.

Try making Probots with 10 Item storage, or the Medical Module.Find a Armorsmith to make the Composite Segments so you can have the Max armor. These also sell really well.

And Finally make the best out of what you have. I have

Surgical droids have not been able to use the storage module for a long while. It's not like this is new.

2. Armor Modules no longer stack?? = Advance Probot will now cost more to make!!!! I used to stack TWO module4's to bet maxed armor

It actually costs me less to use 1 level 6 armor module, so it doesn't really cost more. But the armor stacking bug is definitely a "nerf" to the less-than-master DE's.

3. ALL TWO leggers cant use repair Modules = well we might as well just stay away from these unnamable busted things!!!

They can take crafting stations and med modules, they're not completely useless.

4. Medical Modules are Broken = The second most popular Module is now usless, there goes the other half of my buisness

This one I haven't seen firsthand. I have Novice Medic, and have never had a problem healing wounds with my R2 name "Wonky". Or with a currently crafted Probot...

5. Armor Resists Degrade and Change randomly now = well there goes my probot buisness

If you store and recall your droid, this fixes itself.

6. Bounty Hunter Droids can be exploited

Not all BH droids can be exploited. Arakyd probe droids cannot be exploited. The seekers do not poof once a BH gets to Investigation 3 and uses the "find and track" option. There is still a market for these droids.

I cant build and sell reliable: Two Leggers, Probots, Medical droids and Bounty Hunter Droids......Um what exactly does that leave us.....

The only thing "new" is the armor not stacking. We're really not that much worse off than we were previously. This profession's been broken since launch. Your market won't be any less than it was previously.

I think this is the issue the post is using to claim that medical modules are broken:

E.Seeing several reports of 'broken' Medical modules. The modulesbreakand remain broken even after recharging the droid.

Please note that this is a RARE issue that I've never encountered firsthand. This is why it is an uncertainty. It's never been proven to be an issue to my satisfaction. It remains simply because nobody's been able to explain why the people reporting the problem are experiencing the problem.

But please, this thread is to track bugs, not complain about them. Find new bugs, discuss them and figure out what causes them so we can have an accurate list of what is wrong with the profession. If you see something here that is incorrect, please say so. If you see something that isn't here, please say so.

1. Slicing Module - Not in the smuggler enhancing sense (although I do like that also), but in the R2-D2's ability to crack open obstacles sort of way. It would be nice for when I find a container that is locked, to be able to have my droid pull an R2-D2 and crack it open (portable can-opener!).

2. Assassin Droids - IG-88 was an assassin droid. It would be really cool if it didn't come with any built in weapon mods, but instead had to be equiped with a pistol or carbine weapon. I like it more, because I'd like to have a humaniod combat droid that could hold a personality chip. Besides, then an additional personality chip could be added - psychopath.

3. Customization Module - instead of having to carry around a customization kit (either droid or vehicle), it would be neat to have a droid that could fill the function. To customize, you pull the droid out, then target the item to be customized, and zap, it expends a customization charge that the droid has. The droid could be recharged by dropping a customization lit on it, or perhaps by simply chewing through batteries by needing a recharge every 4 or 5 customizations. Droids were always seen around equipment, this would give a nice added way to show that interaction of repair/modification.

4. Vehicle Repair Module - stuck out in the middle of Yavin 4? No civilization with in kilometers? Vehicle disabled? Well pull out your handy-dandy repair droid. Another common sense application from watching the number of droids involved in aiding in vehicle (pod-racer) and starship repairs. To keep this from creating immortal vehicles, simply have it lower the overall durability of the vehicle by a percentage (10% or 200 points or whatever).

5. Psychopath/Warped Personality Chip - see # 2 above. Command = follow me (droid responds "Feeling lucky punk?") Command = Guard (droid responds "No one hurts you but me!")

6. Rude Personality Chip - Empire Strikes Back - C3PO meets the rude model that responded "E Chu Ta".

7. LIN-V8M - Armored military droid that specializes in laying mines - from the Star Wars card game that was created by Decipher Inc. Example is the black "domed" looking droid that buzzes around like a MSE droid.

8. R1 droid - old model astromech droid, still used on captial starships and large freighters - from the Star Wars card game - example is the black "helmet" droid that can be briefly seen in A New Hope when R2-D2 and C3PO are by the Sand Crawler.

9. FX-10 - standard medical droid used by Imperial field units - from the Star Wars card game - it's not a humaniod droid, more of a probot head on top of an R-style body with multiple arms that extend from it's side. Ugly, but cool at the same time.

10 - 5D6-RA-7 - A protocol droid class, it's the black protocol droid with the large "bug eyes" that is on either the Death Star or one of the Star Destroyers - the specific model name I got from the Star Wars card game - the card game identified this specific droid as also being a spy for the ISB. Could fit nicely with the proposed spy module I saw somewhere.

11 - CZ communications droid - from the Star Wars card game - it's the ugly looking protocol droid that seems to have somewhat of a snout - can be seen in Return of the Jedi, in Jabba's droid sweat-shop area where R2 and C3PO are taken to receive their service assignments.

Just some things I think could help add usefullness, variety, and more of a Star Wars aura.

T.EXPLOIT: BH droids can be exploited as to not use their final charge.

This is not an exploit, but something the Devs have implemented temporarily until the Bounty Hunter droid speed bug is fixed. Describing it as an exploit implies Bounty Hunters are purposely using them in such a way so they do not deplete -this is not the case.

At Investigation 1 and 2, when a Seeker is launched, it uses up a charge as intended. At Investigation 3 and above, the Seeker does not deplete when used. There is no way round this for Bounty Hunters other than stop using Seekers entirely which means they can't track their marks, complete missions, complete the Investigation tree or master their profession.

Publish 7 will fix this and Seekers will work as intended.
