droidekas should not be easy to make. probots were too easy to make..and too deadly...which resulted in nerfing beyond belief.
So let me get this straight - you are suggesting to a group of people in a broken Elite profession with no useful droids, broken modules, permadeathed droids, and nerfed attack droids, that if we want ANYTHING decent to build that players might actually want and pay more than 18K for... that we should be THE ONLY ELITE PROFESSION IN THE GAME to have to REQUIRE/BEG/BORROW/STEAL/BUY ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS from other Elite Professions (who will no doubt charge us a HUGE fee for those subcomponents knowing what we want them for).
Nice of you to give weaponsmiths, architects and armorsmiths a market for THEIR subcomponents (sarcastic mode on if u can't detect it).
I love how you justify this by suggesting that if we are treated fairly like any other Elite Prof capable of selling a creating a high level usefull item that ifin OUR CASE thisis too easy then it will get nerfed like Probots.
You don't think that a Master (I'm not one but am familiar with the grind enough to know) has slogged enough XP to deserve to build a useful droid?
What did you smoke? and where can I buy some?
I think having Droidekas w parts from Arcitects, Armorsmith etc is a brilliant idea and i think the DEVs already have similar plans (u do, right? hello?).
The Droideka is a well equiped and a Killer. He has build in Weaponry and also Shield generators. It would be silly that a Droid Engineer alone can create something which has all this build in.
But the Droideka should also be a very deadly Pet when it is so hard to create him.
It shouldmake sense to get all these parts to have a very high priced Droid which really kiks rancor butts.
Here some Info from the www.starwars.com site:
The bloodthirsty, cannibalistic insectoids of Colla IV designed the droideka in their own frightening image. The Colicoids crafted the destroyers as an answer to the design limitations of Baktoid Combat Automata's simple battle droids. The end result is an immensely powerful killer droid that is also very expensive. The credit-conscious Trade Federation was able to purchase several orders of droidekas by trading fifty barges full of exotic meats to the ravenous Colicoids.
In sum i think yes we Droid Engineer should be able to build Droids on our own which ppl wnt . I think the Battle Droids from Episode 1 should be craftable by us alone .....but also give us also real killers... to kick those pokemon rancors.
And make em a adventure to build for us...
Rather than Power Cores (which are pretty hefty items), I would suggest Light Power Cores (still from the Arch tree).
And, to those who are saying "DE only" .. come on folks. That would make droidekas far too easy to build. Even factory made parts aren't that hard.
And, by the time you're a Master DE, you should at least know a Master Armorsmith and a Master Artisan (if you aren't one of these yourself).
Regarding Master Weaponsmiths and Master Architects ... they're all over the place. Ask your PA leader who made the hall... that person is a Master Architect. And, everyone advertising really, really high-end weapons is either a master Weaponsmith or knows one.
You just need to talk to people.
Droid Lubricant from Smugglers. Im suprised this hasn't been thrown in yet
Personally, I think this should be a required component in the Droid Repair Modules. Or, make a new Advanced Droid Repair Module that requires it.
According to your material list alot of DE's atm who sell droids for 2cr resources will ruin the market if implimented. I am not to happy about the material list great idea. Until people wake up and smell some maxwell or there own feet I do not want master level to a be joke. Especialy when we have MDE's now that sell stuff dirt cheap because they do not see a reason to charge over 2cr per resource. These same MDE's you can read there posts all over here. They one goal is to ruin the trade system for our profession. Because they do not feel all the training costs and time put into getting MDE should matter when they sell a droid.
I do like the idea however I just know from past experience that MDE will be selling these for 3k a pop too
