Thread: Vehicles and DE interdependence: What parts should be needed?
Also require any component parts to be from a factory crate.

Make the faster of the 2 bikes get no storage unit, 350 Steel, 150 Plast, and 60 Reactive Gas. To boost the speed, people will strip it of heavy stuff and luxuries and use lighter but less durable materials to make it. Also they add gas to create more oomph in the repulsors.
Now dont forget fuel! I'd love for them to introduce Fuel Cells for vehicles. They could be used for everything including small spaceships. Make it a new schematic in Master Artisan, and use Reactive Gas, and solid petro fuel, and a variable amount of metal to encase it, plus an energy distributor and GP module.
Killer idea guys....I hope we get some kind of dependence for vehicles. Would be a great way to incorporate our broken class back into the game...lol

Sure, but it doesn't need to be any more complicated then the electrical circuitry in a surveying device.
In truth, as other have said, I don't see any logic at all in tieing DE to vehicles. It'd make some sense for them to require some master artisan components for some of thembut I just don't see any relationship to DE. A vehicle isn't a droid.
If they add a vehicle later that can drive itself, well then that might need an advanced droid brain, but otherwise, I don't see it.
What makes most sense it to leave the schematics in Engineering but have them require a control unit from Master Artisan. Optionalitem or data storage modelsfor some or all of the vehiclesmakes sense too, but I won't mind if that option isn't there.
But none of the other things suggested makes any sense to me, unless, as I said, the vehicles have the ability to drive themselves.
Vehicles don't need a navigation system. That's bunk, looks like too many of yall are used to On*Star. Robotics and vehicles have almost nothing to do with each other.
Sorry, I'm pulling for a separate Vehicle Engineer profession, so I guess I'm biased.
Well, definitely master artisan parts are needed... sorry,I don't see any need for DE parts.
