Thread: Centralized Droid Issues (Jan 05, 2004)

H.Droid crafting modules seem to break when near architect crafting stations. Confirmation requested.
I have yet to run into this issue. I often sit inside my work shop, where I have all four private crafting stations surrounding me and my droid with all four droid crafting stations. I've made it a point to try and craft near them while crafting everything under the twin suns. I haven't power tested weapon crafting yet, but I've had no problem with Armor, Droids, Structures, or Meds.

I can confirm that this is still a problem - I have to leave my house to use the crafting station in my droid.
I have read this whole thread and I am still unable to answer this question:
Ifmore than 1type of crafting stationis installed into a droid doeither work. I have never tried this because i read on a web page that it breaks both of them. Is this still true and ifso why is it not on the list of bugs?
O.Droid customization isborked. No xp is gained from colouring droids, the colours don't always hold (use the first white box to reproduce). R# units have random colours when they are first tamed and randomly change until the droid is customized. The number of colours available with the customization tool are different than the colours available during crafting. New droids are reported to not be customizable (certain frames perhaps?)
Most days i can customize successfully and one day about a month agoI cldn't customize anything and make it stick, but one thing has beenconstant for me and thats R3's do not hold there customizationever. They r what i like to call cameleons. Has this been fixed recently?
Have some ideas for droid specialties, these r as follows:
-Repair droids add bonuses to repairing everything, making repair tools much more effective and constant Cld they be used for sabotauge (droids, vehicles, at-st).
-Power droids could be used to power up personal shield generators, or could have there own PSG thatcouldsurround and protectthe owner as well. The later wld require the droid to be by your side while protecting you with its sheild. Also, they cld be set to self destruct creating an Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) disabling all droids in a certain blast radius, incapping them until recharged.
-Add profession specific crafting/customizationbonuses to the R series. There isroom for other professions as well (Smuggler, Image Design ect.)
-How about faction specific droids, I thought the probot was an imperial droid.
-Allow Treadwell to add bonuses to organic harvesting. Isnt this an agriculture droid?
-Medical droids cld aid in doctors buffing abilities (increased modification, longer lasting), cld they be used to poison opponents?
-Protocol droids cld accompany entertainers(only, so the need for entertainers would not be reduced)to play music, tell jokes (comedian personality chip), or dance (its a stretch) to increase mind recharging rates or increase buffing abilities (reduce time it takes, increased modification, longer lasting)
-Autopilots for space travel......
Sry bout length of last reply, i just found the Droid ideas thread, my bust ![]()
F.EXPLOIT: Cluster modules not only fit into cluster module sockets, they fit into service module sockets. This allows cluster modules to fit into cluster modules ad infinitum.Clusters should only fit in cluster sockets.Otherwise you're further exploiting the idea that the droid frame used is irrelevant.
We absolutely know that cluster module in a cluster module is an exploit. We do not know for sure if Cluster Module in General Module is an exploit or as intended. Can you please clarify once and for all? Last heated debate was on this thread for background:

Its a perennial issue. Some people here have labeled it exploit because of this statement from Thunderheart.
1.) Is it a bug/exploit or intended that you can stack general module socket clusters together (allows for infinite stacking) as well how they fit into the droid. What's the word on this?Yes it is a bug and a fix is in progress.
But as you can see it only really addresses the "stackable" issue, and not the other question.
The "as well how they fit into the droid" part of the question would seem to imply the 'other question'.

the word is imply
it is not definative. and i think we can both agree that Thunderheart is not very clear in his statements or interpretations.

Ok, I'll have to do something about the wording of the crafting station issue. There's definitely something up with it, but the exactnature is still unclear.
My experiences have been consistant over several tests, and here's what I've determined.
The most recent station deployed (for lack of a better term) takes control when dealing with droid stations.
Example 1: I'm sitting in my workshop, which has obviously a Weapon/Droid/General Crafting station in it. I call my droid with the WDG station in it, and no longer have a hopper access, because it's usong the droid's station.
Example 2: I'm sitting in the player city cantina working on droids, and a friend using a DZ70 with a Chem Station in it that I made him, calls his droid. Next crafting station boots for me, and I don't have access to my station requiring schematics. I store my droid and recall it, and I have access to my station again, but the Dr. loses his. Several call/store tests to confirm it later, we determine that when two droids are in proximity to a crafter, it's the station that most recently entered the area that takes control.
Example 3: I made a droid with both a WGD, and a Food/Chem station in it, and had a Dr. friend use it. He calls the droid out, and I go to craft a droid schematic that requires a private station, schematic shows up fine. He goes to craft a high level stim, and schematic also shows up fine.
So multiple stations are working in a droid just fine, but two droids with stations will conflict, with the second station winning out and cancelling the first.
Hope that helps, I spent several hours testing over and over to confirm before I posted this.
What is up with these special resources required to build certain droids - i.e Protocol needing Ditanium Steel, and these resources are nowhere to be found in the galaxy. Ohter DE's tell me they appear from time to time and the idea of rare resources is good - it drives up the price of the droid (hehe, profit good, yes, yes) but at least havethem appear a bit more often. I have been a Master DE for almost 2 weeks now and only found Duralumin Aluminum and only then for the last half of the day. Just to know - when these special resources do appear are they on every planet or only 1?? -mabey i'm just not touring the galaxy enough - and if that's what i should be doing then how am i supposed to be crafting droids for clients when my 2 - 4 hours of play time a day is used up in starports??
Rum'Pathump - on Sunrunner.
